Lock:Withthelampswitchedoff,pressandholdeitherofthetwoswitches,orsimultaneously

Unlock:Withthelampislocked,simultaneouslypressthetwoswitchesfor3seconds,thelamp

willbeactivatedwith4one‐secondblinksandactivatesonLowoffloodlightmode.
In locked status, clicking or pressing the switches will activate4one‐secondblinksonLowof
floodlightmodetoindicatelockedstatus.

Unscrewthebatterycoveranticlockwisetoinsertthebatterywiththeanodeside(+)towards
theinnerside,thenscrewthebatterycoverbackon.

Charging
1. Uncovertheanti‐dustcapandplugtheUSBType‐Csideofthechargingcableintothecharging
portofthelamp.
2. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB‐L18‐3500 rechargeable Li‐ion battery is about 3
hours with the lamp being switched off. When charging, Low output of spotlight or floodlight
mode can be separately selected. The headlamp will not automaticallypoweronafterfull
charging.
3. Inchargingprocess,oneindicatorflashes:below20%,oneconstant‐onandoneflashes:20%‐
50%,twoconstant‐onandoneflashes:50%‐80%,threeconstant‐onandoneflashes:80%‐95%,
fourconstant‐on:chargingcomplete.
4. Replacetheanti‐dustcaptoensurewaterproofanddustproofability.
BatteryLevelIndication
Withthelampisswitchedoff,singleclickeitherofthetwoswitchestocheckthebatterystatus,
theindicator(s)willlastfor3seconds.
Therewillbenoresponsewiththelamplocked.

IntelligentOverheatProtection
Thelampwillaccumulatealotofheatwhenusedonhigh,medand low output levels for
extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 65°C orabove,thelampwill
automaticallystepdownafewlumenstoreducethetemperature.Whenthetemperaturedrops
below65°C,itwillthenallowtheuserforthereselectionofthemodes.
Low‐voltageWarning
Whenthevoltageleveldropsbelowthepresetlevel,theheadlampisprogrammedtodownshift
toalowerbrightnessleveluntilLowoutputisreached.WhenthishappensinLowoutputmode,
oneofthebatterylevelindicatorsblinkstoremindyoutotimelyrechargeorreplacethebattery.

HeadbandAssembly
Notice:Theheadbandisfactoryassembledbydefault.
Presstherotarypress‐pullclasp,rotateitclockwisetoshortentheheadband;pulltheclaspupto
loosentheheadband.
UsageandMaintenance
Disassemblingthesealedheadcancausedamagetothelampandwillvoidthewarranty.
FenixrecommendsusinganexcellentqualityFenix18650battery.
Ifthelampwillnotbeusedforanextendedperiod,removethebattery,orthelampcould
bedamagedbyelectrolyteleakage.
Lock the lamp or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or
transportation.

Long‐termuse canresultinO‐ringwear.Tomaintainaproperwaterseal,replacethering
withanapprovedspare.
Periodiccleaningofthebatterycontactsimprovesthelamp'sperformanceasdirtycontacts
maycausethelamptoflicker,shineintermittentlyorevenfailtoilluminateforthefollowing
reasons:
A:Thebatteryneedsreplacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s
specifications).
B:Thethreads,PCBboardcontactorothercontactsaredirty.
Solution:Cleanthecontactpointswithacottonswabsoakedinrubbingalcohol.
