Introduction / Voorwoord
This is the Quick start guide for Papillon. This product is developed,
manufactured and distributed by Focal Meditech. This quick start guide
contains the basic information regarding Papillon. The aim of this
information is to ensure successful, safe and effective use of the device.
This quick start guide will give you a quick look on the features and
important safety warnings of Papillon. Please take note of the safety
warnings before using Papillon.
Dit is de snelstartgids voor Papillon. Dit product wordt ontwikkeld,
geproduceerd en gedistribueerd door Focal Meditech. Deze snelstartgids
bevat de basisinformatie over Papillon. Het doel van deze informatie is te
zorgen voor een succesvol, veilig en effectief gebruik van het hulpmiddel.

Safety notices / Veiligheidsnotities
Danger: Prevent direct contact with water or any other liquid.
Failure to prevent can lead to malfunctioning of device or bodily
harm.
Gevaar: Voorkom direct contact met water of enige andere vloeistof.
Het niet voorkomen hiervan kan leiden tot onjuist functioneren van
het hulpmiddel of tot lichamelijke schade.
Danger: Prevent exposure to extreme temperature (see
environment conditions). Failure to prevent can lead to
malfunctioning of the device or bodily harm.
Gevaar: Voorkom blootstelling aan extreme temperaturen (zie
omgevingscondities). Het niet voorkomen kan slecht functioneren
van het hulpmiddel of lichamelijk letsel tot gevolg hebben.
Danger: In accordance with the Code VVR, the device must be
disconnected from the wheelchair when the user is transported in
the wheelchair by means of transport that is accessible for
wheelchairs or when the users is moving faster than 15 km/h. Failure
to do this can lead to malfunctioning of device or bodily harm.
Gevaar: Conform de Code VVR dient het hulpmiddel van de rolstoel
te worden afgenomen wanneer de gebruiker in de rolstoel middels
een vervoersmiddel die toegankelijk zijn voor rolstoelen wordt
vervoerd. Het niet opvolgen hiervan kan leiden tot onjuist
functioneren van het hulpmiddel of tot lichamelijk letsel.
Danger: Stop using the head support if problems persist after
readjusting the settings.
Gevaar: Gebruik de hoofdsteun niet wanneer na het aanpassen van
instellingen zich problemen blijven voordoen.

Danger: Stop using if, despite adjustments, the irritation continues
and contact Focal Meditech or your therapist.
Gevaar: Gebruik de hoofdsteun niet als, ondanks aanpassingen, de
irritatie op de huid aanhoudt en neem contact op met Focal
Meditech of uw therapeut.
Warning: Anyone using the system – the user and the carer/ therapist
– needs to be instructed about how the system can be modified.
Waarschuwing: Iedereen die het hulpmiddel gebruikt - de gebruiker
en de verzorger / therapeut - moet worden geïnstrueerd over hoe
het hulpmiddel kan worden aangepast.
Warning: Check for each use that the hinges are properly fixed.
Waarschuwing: Controleer voor elk gebruik of de hengsels goed
vastzitten.
Warning: Do not modify any part of this device without
authorization of Focal Meditech. Otherwise this can lead to
malfunctioning and will void the warranty.
Waarschuwing: Wijzig geen enkel onderdeel van dit hulpmiddel
zonder toestemming van Focal Meditech. Indien dit toch gedaan
wordt, kan dit leiden tot onjuist functioneren en zal de garantie
komen te vervallen.
Warning: In case of a faulty device contact Focal Meditech. Do not
try to fix it yourself. Failure to do this this will void the warranty.
Waarschuwing: Neem indien het hulpmiddel onjuist functioneert
direct contact op met Focal Meditech. Probeer het niet zelf te
repareren. Het niet opvolgen van deze waarschuwing kan leiden tot
het verlies van garantie.
Warning: In case of doubt about the safety of the device contact
Focal Meditech.
Waarschuwing: Neem in geval van twijfel over de veiligheid van het
hulpmiddel contact op met Focal Meditech.
Warning: In case of a serious incident when using the device,
contact Focal Meditech and the national authority of your country.
Waarschuwing: Bij een ernstig voorval met betrekking tot dit
hulpmiddel dient contact te worden opgenomen met Focal
Meditech en de bevoegde autoriteit van de lidstaat.

Folding away Papillon / Wegklappen Papillon
Sometimes it is necessarily to fold away Papillon from its configured
position. For example, when the user has to make a transfer in or out of his
(wheel)-chair whether or not using a patient hoist system.
Soms is het noodzakelijk om Papillon weg te klappen uit zijn
geconfigureerde positie. Bijvoorbeeld wanneer de gebruiker een transfer
in of uit zijn (rol)-stoel moet maken al dan niet met behulp van een
patiëntenliftsysteem.

•Make sure the user can hold his head in the same place (in a safe way)
when Papillon is folded away. If this is not possible ask somebody to help
you to swing away Papillon when you are stabilizing the head during this
procedure.
•Unlock the locking snapper at the right side of the mounting plate by
pulling gently on the knob.
•Fold away Papillon to the back and let it rest on the optional bracket
which is made to retain the foldable away position of Papillon.
•Be sure that Papillon is in a safe stable position where it does not get
in the way during the transfer, moreover be sure that it can’t accidently
swing back towards the user.
•If there is any doubt about the safety or the position we advise to
disconnect Papillon from the mounting plate via the procedure as
described in the next chapter.
•Zorg ervoor dat de gebruiker zijn hoofd op dezelfde plaats kan houden
(op een veilige manier) als Papillon is weggeklapt. Als dit niet mogelijk is,
vraag dan iemand om u te helpen Papillon weg te klappen wanneer u het
hoofd tijdens deze procedure stabiliseert.
•Ontgrendel de vergrendelingsknop aan de rechterkant van de
montageplaat door voorzichtig aan de knop te trekken.
•Klap Papillon weg naar achteren en laat het rusten op de optionele
beugel die gemaakt is om de opvouwbare positie van Papillon vast te
houden.
•Zorg ervoor dat Papillon zich in een veilige stabiele positie bevindt waar
hij niet in de weg zit tijdens de transfer, en zorg er bovendien voor dat hij
niet per ongeluk naar de gebruiker kan terugklappen.
•Bij twijfel over de veiligheid of de positie adviseren wij Papillon los te
koppelen van de montageplaat via de procedure zoals beschreven in het
volgende hoofdstuk.
The procedure to fold back Papillon is the same as described above only
then in reverse order. Be sure that Papillon is locked into the mounting
plate, make sure that the snapper is locked into place. To verify this, try to
fold Papillon without unlocking the snapper.
De procedure om Papillon terug te vouwen is dezelfde als hierboven
beschreven, alleen dan in omgekeerde volgorde. Zorg ervoor dat Papillon in
de montageplaat is vergrendeld, zorg ervoor dat de snapper op zijn plaats
is vergrendeld. Om dit te verifiëren, probeer Papillon te vouwen zonder de
snapper te ontgrendelen.

Disconnect and connect Papillon /
Wegnemen en plaatsen Papillon
Sometimes it is easier, safer or even necessarily to remove Papillon from its
mounting plate. For example when the fold away position is not sufficient
or safe to make a transfer
Soms is het gemakkelijker, veiliger of zelfs nodig om Papillon van de
montageplaat te verwijderen. Bijvoorbeeld wanneer de vouwpositie niet
voldoende of veilig is om een transfer te maken.

•Make sure the user can hold his head in the same place (in a safe way)
when Papillon is folded away and disconnected. If this is not possible ask
somebody to help you to fold away and disconnect Papillon when you
are stabilizing the head during this procedure.
•Before disconnecting Papillon we advise to fold away Papillon first via
the procedure as described in the previous chapter.
•To disconnect Papillon the lever which should be loosened by turning it
counter clockwise.
•Papillon can be taken out of its fitting by lifting it up in a straight line.
•Zorg ervoor dat de gebruiker zijn hoofd op dezelfde plaats kan houden
(op een veilige manier) als Papillon is weggeklapt en losgekoppeld. Als
dit niet mogelijk is, vraag dan iemand om u te helpen Papillon weg te
klappen en los te koppelen wanneer u het hoofd tijdens deze procedure
stabiliseert.
•Voordat u Papillon loskoppelt, raden we aan om Papillon eerst weg te
vouwen via de procedure zoals beschreven in het vorige hoofdstuk.
•Om Papillon los te koppelen moet de hendel worden losgemaakt, dit kan
u doen door de hendel tegen de klok in te draaien.
•Nu zou Papillon uit de montageplaat kunnen worden getild. Doe dit in
een rechte lijn.
The procedure to connect Papillon is the same as described above only
then in reverse order. Insert Papillon in a straight line into the mounting
plate, making sure that the tab slides into the notch this ensures that
the rotation is blocked and the position that has been configured will be
maintained. Then fold back Papillon as described in the previous chapter.
De procedure om Papillon aan te sluiten is hetzelfde als hierboven
beschreven, alleen dan in omgekeerde volgorde. Plaats Papillon in een
rechte lijn in de montageplaat, zorg ervoor dat het lipje in de inkeping
schuift, dit zorgt ervoor dat de rotatie wordt geblokkeerd en de
geconfigureerde positie behouden blijft. Vouw vervolgens Papillon terug
zoals beschreven in het vorige hoofdstuk.
