DESCRIPTION
- 8 x 8 HDMI MATRIX.
- 4K@60Hz UHD resolution, (4:4:4) and 18 Gbps bandwidth.
- HDR compatible.
- EDID function, manually selects optimal resolution for all TVs.
- Communication protocol through RS-232 port, IR and web browser for remote control.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
FRONT
1.- Matrix power indicator light. When the light is green, it indicates that the matrix is on; when the light is
red, it indicates that the matrix is in StandBy mode.
2.- IR receiver for remote control.
3.- INPUT 1-8: active input LEDs and input selection buttons.
4.- Buttons for configuration of inputs and outputs. For more information see the OPERATION section.
-ENTER: confirm operation.
-LOCK: Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock/unlock all buttons.
-ALL: allows you to select all inputs/outputs.
-CLEAR: allows you to cancel the operation that is currently being performed.
5.- PRESET RECALL 1-4: press to load preset. Press for 4 seconds to save preset. For more information
see the OPERATION section.
6.- OUTPUT 1-8: active output LEDs and output selection buttons.
REAR
1.- AUDIO MATRIX OUTPUT 1-8: digital and analog audio outputs, TOSLINK and RCA connector.
2.- IR EYE: input for connecting the supplied remote controller.
3.- RS232: connection for remote control of the matrix by RS-232 protocol. For more information see the
MATRIX REMOTE CONTROL section.
4.- INPUT 1-8: digital signal inputs in the matrix, HDMI connector.
5.- OUTPUT 1-8: digital signal outputs in the matrix, HDMI connector.
6.- FW: USB port to update firmware. Fonestar does not recommend tampering with this input.
7.- TCP/IP: port for remote connection of the matrix to a local area network, RJ-45 connector. For more
information see the MATRIX REMOTE CONTROL section.
8.- DC 24V: power connection for the power adapter provided.

REMOTE CONTROL
For the remote control to work, you must first connect the supplied remote control receiver to the IR IN
connector on the rear panel of the matrix. Point the remote control at this receiver for the matrix to make the
changes.
1.- Button that allows you to turn on the matrix or place it in StandBy.
2.- INPUTS: input channels 1-8.
3.- OUTPUTS: output channels 1-8.
4.- ALL: allows you to select all inputs/outputs. For more information see the
OPERATION section.
5.- CLEAR: allows you to cancel the operation that is currently being performed.
For more information see the OPERATION section.
6.- EDID: allows the selected input(s) to copy the EDID information from the
desired output. For more information see the OPERATION section.
7.- ENTER: confirm the operation. This button must be pressed when performing
an operation with the remote control for the changes to be set. For more
information see the OPERATION section.
OPERATION
LOCK/UNLOCK THE BUTTONS ON THE FRONT PANEL OF THE MATRIX
-To avoid modifying the assignment of inputs and outputs of the matrix accidentally, it is possible to lock
the buttons on the front. To lock or unlock them press the button with the padlock on the front of the
matrix and hold for 3 seconds.
SENDING INPUTS TO OUTPUTS
- To send an input to an output or several outputs, press the corresponding input button, then press the
output(s) and, finally, ENTER to save.
Example 1, input 1 to output 7: INPUT 1 + OUTPUT 7 + ENTER
Example 2, input 2 to output 3 and 8: INPUT 2 + OUTPUT 3 + OUTPUT 8 + ENTER
- Send an input to all outputs.
Example, input 5 to all outputs: INPUT 5 + ALL + ENTER
CANCEL CURRENT OPERATION
-When you want to cancel an operation you are performing with the remote control, press the CLEAR
button and the matrix will return to the previous configuration status.
EDID MANAGEMENT
Function available on the remote control.
-To copy the EDID from an output to an input you must press the EDID button followed by the input and output,
and finally, press ENTER to save. An input (input 2) copies EDID information from an output (output 4):
Example, copy EDID from output 4 to input 2: EDID + INPUT 2 + OUTPUT 4 + ENTER
-To copy the EDID from one output to all inputs you must press the EDID button, followed by ALL (referring
to all inputs). Next, the output from which you want to copy the configuration and ENTER to save.
Example, copy EDID from output 6 to all the inputs: EDID + ALL + OUTPUT 6 + ENTER

CONFIGURATION PRESETS
The matrix has 6 PRESETs to store different configurations. Only 4 of them are accessible from the front of
the matrix. In order to make use of the available 6 you must make use of the GUI or RS-232.
-Make the desired input and output assignments and press the desired PRESET button for a few seconds.
- To load a previously stored configuration (PRESET), short press the PRESET you want to load.
Note: PRESETs do not save the EDID configuration.
REDUCTION OF VIDEO RESOLUTION (DOWN-SCALING)
This device automatically reduces the video resolution when the input signal is 4K and the display connected
to the output is 1080p. This function is available on outputs 5, 6, 7 and 8. The table below shows the different
types of 4K signals and the 1080p output resolution into which they are converted:
CONNECTION
- Make connections with all equipment turned off.
- Connect the HDMI signal sources to the corresponding INPUTS 1-8 on the matrix.
- Then connect the OUTPUTS 1-8 to the monitors/televisions.
You can use the digital/analog audio extraction function of the AUDIO OUTPUT 1-8 outputs (TOSLINK
digital connectors / RCA analog connectors) to connect the audio to an external sound system.
- Supply power to the matrix using the power adapter provided.
MATRIX REMOTE CONTROL
There are 3 different ways to remotely control the matrix:
- via TCP/IP communication - GUI.
- via RS-232 communication.
- vía CEC.

VIA TCP/IP COMMUNICATION - GUI
Connect the matrix to a PC using a Cat 5e/6 cable.
The default parameters of the FO-22M88 matrix are as follows:
- IP direction: 192.168.0.178
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default gateway: 192.168.0.1
Configure the PC in the same range as the matrix to operate
the equipment through the TCP/IP communication protocol.
To do this, go to the properties of your network card and
configure a set IP (within the same network as the matrix).
Once the PC has been configured, you can enter the IP address of the matrix (192.168.0.178) in the browser
to be able to connect to it. You will be prompted to enter a user name and password:
- User name: admin
- Password: admin
At this point, the matrix will be connected to the PC and you will be able to control the operation of the matrix
using the menu shown below:
There are 8 tabs on the screen for configuring the matrix FO-22M88, which make it very intuitive to work via
TCP/IP:
-SWITCHING: allows the assignment of inputs and outputs via matrix buttons.
It also allows you to save and retrieve up to 6 saved configurations (PRESETS). To save a PRESET,
press SAVE, to load a previously saved PRESET press RECALL.

-AUDIO:
-Setting: allows you to redirect the audio signal from inputs or outputs to each of the digital/analog
audio outputs, i.e. the audio outputs are configurables allowing you to choose up to 16 different sources
(8 inputs and 8 outputs).
-Volume: allows you to adjust the volume level for each digital/analog audio output.
-CONFIGURATION
-EDID Copy: allows you to copy the EDID of the selected output to one or more inputs. The inputs are
displayed in the horizontal bar and you can select one or several, and the outputs in 2 columns to
select one of them. Click the CONFIRM button to save.

-EDID Setting:
Allows you to select, for the selected input(s), an predetermined EDID or a .bin file.
The inputs are displayed in the horizontal bar, select the input(s) to which you want to apply an EDID,
select the EDID and press CONFIRM to save the configuration.
-CEC: If the inputs and outputs support CEC, they can be controlled via the following CEC interface.
Select a device in the INPUT or OUTPUT tab and press the function buttons.
Note: you cannot control two or more devices simultaneously.

-RS232: allows you to configure the parameters of the RS232 connection to be connected to the matrix
and send the commands without external programs. The parameters to configure are:
- ASCII or HEX code.
- Baud rate: transfer speeds (2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200).
- Command ending: command termination characters (NULL, CR, LF, CR+LF).
- Command: type here the command to control the device connected to the RS232 port of the matrix.
Note: by default the baud rate value must be 9600 and command ending NULL.
-INTERFACE: allows you to edit the names of the inputs and outputs of the matrix.
-NETWORK: allows you to edit the network parameters of the matrix as well as displaying the MAC address
of the network card of the matrix. It is possible to modify the following values:
-Type of IP address: Static IP or
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol).
- IP Address.
- Subnet mask.
- Default gateway.

-ACCESS: allows you to modify the password to access the matrix and lock/unlock the buttons on the front
panel of the matrix.
VIA RS-232 COMMUNICATION
To configure the equipment using the RS-232 port, connect the cable as
follows:
Use a suitable program for communication via RS-232 protocol and perform the following configuration:
- Select the COM port used on your PC for this communication
- Baud rate: 9600
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: ninguna
- Stop bits: 1
Here are the commands for RS-232 communication.
Note: Note that the symbols “[” and “]” are used below to make the command easier to understand and
should not be used when typing the command.

VIA CEC
If the connected devices support CEC, they can be controlled by sending the following commands without
the need for a remote control. These commands follow the following format:
CEC[I/O][AA][BB][CC][DD].
-[I/O]= input: ”I” / output: “O”
-[AA]= port number 01-08 (channel 1-8) or "FF" for all input or output ports
-[BB]= type of device (e.g. TV: 20/40/80; Blu-Ray DVD: 04/08)
-[CC]= type of function (e.g. "44": remote control)
-[DD]= command

FRONTAL

MANDO A DISTANCIA
Para que el mando a distancia funcione, deberá conectar primero el receptor de mando a distancia
suministrado en el conector IR IN situado en el panel posterior de la matriz. Apunte con el mando a distancia
a este receptor para que la matriz realice los cambios.
1.- Botón que permite encender/situar en StandBy la matriz.
2.- INPUTS: canales de entrada 1-8.
3.- OUTPUTS: canales de salida 1-8.
4.- ALL: permite seleccionar todas las entradas/salidas. Para más información
consulte el apartado FUNCIONAMIENTO.
5.- CLEAR: permite cancelar la operación que se esté realizando en ese
momento. Para más información consulte el apartado FUNCIONAMIENTO.
6.- EDID: permite que la entrada o entradas seleccionadas copien la información
EDID de la salida deseada. Para más información consulte el apartado
FUNCIONAMIENTO.
7.- ENTER: confirma la operación. Hay que pulsar este botón cuando se realice
una operación con el mando a distancia para que se establezcan los cambios.

FUNCIONAMIENTO
BLOQUEAR/DESBLOQUEAR BOTONES DEL FRONTAL DE LA MATRIZ
-Para evitar modificar la asignación de entradas y salidas de la matriz de forma accidental, es posible
bloquear los botones del frontal. Para bloquearlos o desbloquearlos pulse el botón con el candado del
frontal de la matriz durante 3 segundos.
ENVÍO DE ENTRADAS A SALIDAS
- Para enviar una entrada a una salida o varias salidas debe pulsar el botón correspondiente a la entrada,
seguidamente pulse la/s salida/s y, finalmente, ENTER para guardar.
Ejemplo 1, entrada 1 a salida 7: INPUT 1 + OUTPUT 7 + ENTER
Ejemplo 2, entrada 2 a salidas 3 y 8: INPUT 2 + OUTPUT 3 + OUTPUT 8 + ENTER
- Enviar una entrada a todas las salidas.
Ejemplo, entrada 5 a todas las salidas: INPUT 5 + ALL + ENTER
CANCELAR OPERACIÓN EN CURSO
-Cuando desee cancelar cualquier operación que esté realizando con el mando a distancia, pulse el botón
CLEAR y la matriz volverá al anterior estado de configuración.
GESTIÓN EDID
Función disponible en el mando a distancia.
- Para copiar el EDID de una salida a una entrada debe pulsar el botón EDID seguidos de la entrada y la
salida, finalmente, pulse ENTER para guardar. Una entrada (entrada 2) copia la información EDID de una
salida (salida 4):
Ejemplo, copiar EDID de la salida 4 a la entrada 2: EDID + INPUT 2 + OUTPUT 4 + ENTER
-Para copiar el EDID de una salida a todas las entradas debe pulsar el botón EDID, seguido de ALL
(haciendo referencia a todas las entradas). A continuación, la salida de la que se desea copiar la
configuración y ENTER para guardas.
Ejemplo, copiar EDID de la salida 6 a todas las entradas: EDID + ALL + OUTPUT 6 + ENTER

PRESETS DE CONFIGURACIÓN
La matriz dispone de 6 PRESETs para almacenar configuraciones diferentes. Sólo 4 de ellos accesibles
desde el frontal de la matriz. Para poder hacer uso de los 6 disponibles debe hacer uso de la GUI o RS-232.
-Haga las asignaciones de entradas y salidas que desee y pulse el botón del PRESET que desee durante
unos segundos.
-Para cargar una configuración previamente almacenada en una memoria (PRESET), realice una pulsación
corta del PRESET que desee cargar.
Nota: los PRESET no guardan la configuración EDID.
REDUCCIÓN DE LA RESOLUCIÓN DE VIDEO (DOWN-SCALING)
Este dispositivo reduce automáticamente la resolución de video cuando la señal de la entrada sea de 4K y
la pantalla conectada a la salida sea de 1080p. Esta función está disponible en las salidas 5, 6 7 y 8. En la
siguiente tabla se muestran los distintos tipos de señales 4K y la resolución de salida en 1080p en las que
se convierten:
CONEXIÓN
- Realice las conexiones con todos los equipos apagados.
- Conecte las fuentes de señal HDMI a las entradas INPUT 1-8 correspondientes de la matriz.
- A continuación, conecte las salidas OUTPUT 1-8 a los monitores/televisores.
Puede hacer uso de la función de extracción de audio digital/analógico de las salidas AUDIO OUTPUT
1-8 (conectores digitales TOSLINK / conectores analógicos RCA) para conectar el audio a un sistema de
sonido externo.
- Alimente la matriz mediante el adaptador de corriente suministrado.
CONTROL REMOTO DE LA MATRIZ
Es posible controlar la matriz de forma remota de 3 formas diferentes:
- vía comunicación TCP/IP - GUI
- vía comunicación RS-232
- vía CEC

VÍA COMUNICACIÓN TCP/IP - GUI
Conecte la matriz a un PC utilizando cable Cat 5e/6.
Los parámetros por defecto de la matriz FO-22M88 son los
siguientes:
- Dirección IP: 192.168.0.178
- Máscara de subred: 255.255.255.0
- Puerta de enlace predeterminada: 192.168.0.1
Configure el PC en el mismo rango que la matriz para hacer
funcionar al equipo a través del protocolo de comunicación
TCP/IP. Para ello, vaya a las propiedades de su tarjeta de red
y configure una IP fija (dentro de la misma red que la matriz).
Una vez configurado el PC ya puede introducir la dirección IP de la matriz (192.168.0.178) en el navegador
para poder conectarse a ella. Se le pedirá que introduzca un nombre de usuario y una contraseña:
- Nombre de usuario: admin
- Contraseña: admin
En ese momento, la matriz quedará conectada al PC y podrá controlar el funcionamiento de la misma con
el menú que se muestra a continuación:
Existen 8 pestañas en la pantalla para configurar la matriz FO-22M88, que hacen muy intuitiva la manera de
trabajar vía TCP/IP:
-SWITCHING: permite la asignación de entradas y salidas mediante los botones en forma de matriz.
También permite guardar y recuperar hasta 6 configuraciones guardadas en la memoria (PRESETS).
Para guardar una configuración en un PRESET pulse SAVE, para cargar un PRESET previamente
guardado pulse RECALL.

-AUDIO:
-Setting: permite redireccionar la señal de audio de entradas o de salidas a cada una de las salidas de
audio digital/analógico, es decir, las salidas de audio son configurables permitiendo elegir hasta 16
fuentes distintas (8 entradas y 8 salidas).
-Volume: permite ajustar el nivel de volumen para cada salida de audio digital/analógico.
-CONFIGURATION
-EDID Copy: permite copiar el EDID de la salida seleccionada a una o más entradas. Las entradas se
presentan en la barra horizontal y se puede seleccionar una o varias, y las salidas en 2 columnas para
poder seleccionar una de ellas. Haga clic en el botón CONFIRM para guardar.

-EDID Setting:
Permite seleccionar, para la/s entrada/s seleccionada/s, un EDID predefinido o de un archivo .bin.
Las entradas se presentan en la barra horizontal, seleccione la/s entrada/s a la que desee aplicar un
EDID, seleccione el EDID y pulse CONFIRM para guardar la configuración.
-CEC: si las entradas y salidas soportan CEC, pueden controlarse mediante la siguiente interfaz CEC.
Seleccione un dispositivo en la pestaña INPUT o OUTPUT y pulse los botones de función.
Nota: no puede controlar dos o más dispositivos simultáneamente.

-RS232: permite configurar los parámetros de la conexión RS232 para poder conectarse a la matriz y
enviar los comandos sin programas externos. Los parámetros a configurar son:
- Código ASCII o HEX.
- Baud rate: velocidades de transferencia (2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200).
- Command ending: caracteres de terminación de comando (NULL, CR, LF, CR+LF).
-Command: escriba aquí el comando para controlar el dispositivo conectado al puerto RS232 de la
matriz.
Nota: por defecto el valor de baud rate debe ser 9600 y command ending NULL.
-INTERFACE: permite editar los nombres de las entradas y las salidas de la matriz.
-NETWORK: permite editar los parámetros de red de la matriz además de mostrar la dirección MAC de la
tarjeta de red de la misma. Es posible modificar los siguientes valores:
-Tipo de dirección IP: IP estática o
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol).
- Dirección IP.
- Máscara de subred.
- Puerta de enlace.

-ACCESS: permite modificar la contraseña de acceso a la matriz y bloquear/desbloquear los botones del
panel frontal de la misma.
VÍA COMUNICACIÓN RS-232
Para configurar el equipo mediante el puerto RS-232 conecte el cable de
la siguiente manera:
Utilice un programa adecuado para la comunicación mediante protocolo RS-232 y realice la siguiente
configuración:
- Seleccione el puerto COM utilizado en su PC para esta comunicación
- Baud rate: 9600
- Bits de datos: 8
- Paridad: ninguna
- Bits de parada: 1
A continuación, le indicamos los comandos para la comunicación RS-232.
Nota: Tenga en cuenta que los símbolos “[” y “]” se utilizan a continuación para facilitar la comprensión del
comando y no debe utilizarlos a la hora de escribir el comando.
