SECURI Y AND HE ENVIRONMEN
ELECTRICAL SECURITY
Check that the current in the mains connection where the machine is to be installed corresponds to the
power supply of the machine.
To avoid damaging the equipment, electrical shocks, fire or physical injury when you connect or disconnect
the equipment from the power supply, pull the plug firmly out of the mains socket holding the plug, never the
cable.
Always do this with dry hands.
eep the power supply cable far from sources of heat. Do not put heavy objects on top of it or change it.
Clean dust and dirt off the power supply cable regularly.
Do not open the machine; you could get an electric shock.
CAUTION
While installing the machine, make sure it is switched off and unplugged.
Do not open the machine. Touching the internal parts is dangerous and you could receive an electric shock.
The machine must not be splashed or dripped on. Never place recipients with liquid inside on the machine.
Do not place anything inside the machine.
LOCATION
Place the equipment on a horizontal surface with enough space around it to allow ventilation.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and excessive dust.
Do not place the machine near magnetic fields or static electricity.
Do not use surfaces which vibrate or receive impact.
Do not pile machines on top of one another.
VENTILATION
Never block or cover the ventilation slits on the machine.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near sources of heat.
PERIODS OF INACTIVITY
When the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
If you are using an adapter, take into account that it will continue using electricity even if the machine is
switched off. If it is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
THE ENVIRONMENT
To save energy, switch the machine off when you are not going to use it for a long time. The machine could
contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health. To minimize the effect of these
substances the machine must be correctly managed and recycled when you decide to dispose of it.
When you dispose of it remember: it cannot be thrown into a conventional rubbish bin.
If it contains or uses batteries, these must be disposed of separately.
The machine (without batteries) must be disposed of correctly. Put it in a container specially intended for the
collection of electronic and electrical appliances, at the dump or hand it over to the dealer when you purchase
similar equipment, so that the dealer can dispose of it correctly (at no added cost).

SIGNIFICANCE OF HE SYMBOLS ON HE MACHINE*
The symbol formed by the expression “Class 1 laser product” written in a rectangle
indicates that visible or invisible laser radiation could be produced. Avoid direct expose to
the laser.
The symbol formed by a ray of lightening inside a triangle shows that the machine has
connection terminals or a circuit with areas with a current which could cause an electric
shock, even in normal working conditions.
The symbol formed by an exclamation mark in a triangle shows that the instruction manual
must be referred to for information on how the machine works and its use.
The symbol formed by one square inside another square shows that the machine has
double electrical insulation.
The European Community symbol shows that the machine complies with the current
European Union legislation, as well as its transposition to local legislation.
The symbol of a rubbish bin crossed out and over a horizontal line shows that when the
product is disposed of it must be done properly, placing it in a special selective electronic
and electrical equipment container or through a dealer when purchasing a similar product,
at no additional cost. It also shows that the machine was put on the market after 13th
August 2005 (European Community Directive 2002/96/CE of Electrical and Electronic
recycling, and its Spanish equivalent R.D.208/2005).
In accordance with what is set out in the aforementioned decree, FONESTAR is registered
in the RAEE (Registro de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos) in a special section REI
(Registro de establecimientos Industriales), with the entry number 001851.

Output resolution selectable through menu.
3.- USB: USB port for connecting USB storage devices and upgrading software.
4.- VIDEO: composite video output, RCA connector.
5.- SPDIF: coaxial digital audio output, RCA connector.
6.- L/R: stereo audio output, 2 x RCA connectors.

1.- POWER: on/standby mode.
2.- MU E: activate/deactivate the audio output.
3.- GO O: to go to an exact point in playback. Use the number
buttons to enter the exact time.
4.- REC: to start recording from the channel that is being viewed at
that moment.
5.- ASPEC : allows the aspect ratio to be changed.
6.- V.FORMA : allows the screen resolution to be selected.
7.- 5/6: fast forwards and rewinds playback.
8.- 12: starts and pauses playback.
9.- 3: stops playback or recording.
10.- AUDIO: allows the audio language to be selected among those
available in the channel.
11.- V/RADIO: allows selection of TV or tuned radio channels.
12.- DEV: allows connected external hard disc to be managed.
13.- RECALL: to go back to the channel that was previously being
viewed.
14.- SUB. : displays subtitles (when they are available).
15.- X: displays teletext.
16.- ZOOM: increases/decreases the zoom of the selected image.
17.- OP ION: accesses the option menu.
18.- INFO: displays information about the current channel.
19.- FAV: displays the favourite channel list.
20.- CH+w/CH-s: changes to the next or previous channel, to
navigate through the menu options.
21.- a d : volume control, to navigate through the menu options.
22.- OK: confirms the action selected in the menus. When watching
a TV channel a window displays the channel list to select one.
23.- MENU: displays the main menu on the screen.
24.- EXI : exits the menu, saving the configuration.
25.- SA : displays the list of satellites on the screen.
26.- +VOL-: volume adjustment.
27.- -PAGE+: to move forwards and backwards through the pages when the channel list is on the screen.
28.- EPG: Electronic program guide.
29.- 0-9: number buttons.
30.- FIND: satellite channel search.
31.- MP: to access the multimedia player menu.

CONNEC ION
Before making any connections, switch off all the equipment and disconnect it from the mains.
It is recommended that you read the manual before connecting the equipment.
1.- Install the satellite dish and position it facing the satellite.
2.- Connect the aerial to the receiver.
3.- Connect the receiver to the TV according to your needs.
4.- If you have an amplifier/audio receiver that is compatible with AC3, the SPDIF output can be connected
to one of the optical digital audio inputs to enjoy AC3 audio if it is available in the channel or playback
file.
5.- Once the connections have been made according to your needs, connect the equipment to the mains
and switch it on.

INS RUC IONS FOR USE
S AR UP
When the receiver is switched on for the first time, a quick start up menu will appear on the screen making
configuration of the receiver and channel tuning easier.
1.- Use the up and down navigation buttons to select the parameter that you want to set. Press the ok
button to display the configuration options for each parameter (language, date and time, cable network
configuration, DHCP, DNS, etc).
2.- Select the Search option (menu Instalación > Búsqueda Automática) and press the O button to start
tuning. The TV and radio programmes that are tuned will be shown in the TV and radio column
respectively. The search could take several minutes.
3.- To cancel the installation process, select the option ‘Cancelar’. In this case or if no channel has been
tuned, the following message will appear on the screen “No se encontró ningún canal”. If no channel has
been tuned, check the aerial connection.
MAIN MENU
By accessing the main menu we can adjust the receiver configuration, channel installation, play the contents
of a USB drive, program recordings, etc.
1.- Press the MENU button and the main menu will appear on the screen.
2.- Press the left and right navigation buttons to choose an option and press O to select.
CONFIGURA ION
Press the up and down navigation buttons on the remote control to choose the following options:

SYS EM OP IONS
Allows parameters to be configured such as: menu language/idioma de los menús, OSD
transparency/transparencia OSD, OSD time limit/límite de tiempo OSD, audio language/idioma de audio,
recall/rellamada or HDMI audio/audio HDMI.
AV CONFIGURA ION
Allows the following options to be configured: screen format/formato de pantalla, screen mode/modo de
pantalla, HD resolution/resolución HD, monitor type/tipo de monitor, complete screen signal/señal pantalla
completa, video output/salida de vídeo, PCM and SPIF.
VIDEO ADJUS MEN
Allows the following parameters to be configured: brightness/brillo, contrast/contraste, saturation/saturación
and tone/ tono.

IME CONFIGURA ION
Allows the date/la fecha and time/hora on the receiver to be configured.
IMER
To configure the options for changing channels or recording from the receiver. To record, activate the PVR
option.
PAREN AL CON ROL
This option allows the channel lock/bloqueo de canales and channel tuning/sintonización de canales to be
activated using a password to prevent children from accessing certain channels. The password is 0000 by
default. It can be changed for a new one in this menu.

Displays information about the software and hardware versions.
CHANNEL ADMINIS RA OR
Allows channels to be ordered, edited, shown in a list, moved, blocked, renamed or deleted from the receiver.
Press the navigation buttons and the colour buttons on the remote control to select the following options:
Press the red button to access the list of satellites.
Press the green button to order the channels. They can be ordered alphabetically, by satellite, open/coded
channels, etc. Select the required option and press the O button to confirm.
Press the blue button to delete the selected channel.
Press the yellow button to access the the channel editing mode. You can lock, move or change the channel
names. Use the navigation buttons and the colour buttons until you reach the required option and press the
O button to confirm.

Press the up and down navigation buttons on the remote control to select the following options:
AERIAL CONFIGURA ION
Allows the satellite data and the LNB information for the automatic, manual and blind channel searches to
be configured. Use the navigation buttons and the colour buttons until you reach the option required and
press the O button to confirm.

Allows games to be played using the remote control.
MUL IMEDIA MENU
Allows reproduction of audio, video and image files contained in the storage device connected to the device’s
USB port. It also allows selection of other options such as ebook reader, games, recording management, etc.
During playback the functions available on the remote control can be used (fast forward and rewind, previous
and following, zoom, etc).
GENERAL FUNC IONS
Below, the receiver’s general basic functions while viewing a certain program will be explained
PROGRAM INFORMA ION
It displays information on the TV or radio program that is being watched/listened to at that moment. In order
to do so, press the INFO button on the remote control.

CHANNEL LIS
Press the O button on the remote control to display the TV or radio channel list. Use the navigation buttons
and the colour buttons to access the different options in the channel list.
ELEC RONIC PROGRAM GUIDE (EPG)
Press the EPG button on the remote control to access this option which allows you to view information on
TV and radio programs. It displays the title and additional information on daily scheduling for the different
channels.
IME SHIF FUNC ION
The time shift function allows satellite signal playback to be stopped at a given moment and saved in a
temporary buffer, so you do not even miss one second of your favorite program, being able to return to the
current moment whenever you want. Press the corresponding T/S button on the remote control to activate
the time shift function. This function will only be activated if a USB device is connected.

This product has been tested and has passed the corresponding quality control prior to being put on the market.
FONES AR guarantees the suitability of the product for its specified use during a period of 2 years from the
delivery date and commits itself to repair or substitute the goods as expressed in the Spanish law ‘La Ley General
para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios, Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007 16 Noviembre.
The lack of conformity in the first six months after purchase, due to a manufacturing defect, will be rectified with
no more than showing the proof of purchase. After six months FONES AR reserves the right to demand proof
of the product being sold with that problem.
This warranty does not include damage produced by: inappropriate use or negligence, accidents, worn out parts
due to use, breakages, burns, spilt liquids or other substances, excessive humidity, battery deterioration and
internal manipulation of the device, the software or its components by unauthorized persons, and in general any
use that is unrelated to the nature and purpose of the product.
If any service is needed during the warranty period because of lack of conformity, please contact the business or
distributor where the product was purchased in no more than 2 months after being conscious of the problem. It
is only necessary to contact FONES AR if it is impossible or imposes an undue burden for them to solve it.
To benefit from this warranty it is necessary to show the proof of purchase with the date clearly visible, with no
corrections or crossing out.
This document adds information, and never decreases the consumers’ rights, which in all cases are protected by
the Spanish law ‘La Ley General para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios, Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007
16 Noviembre’.
