WARNING
Risk of fatal injury from electrocution
Damaged power cords, pipes or push-on fittings can lead to electrocution.
a) Do not connect any damaged power cords, pipes or push-on fittings to
the power grid.
b) Replace damaged power cords, pipes or push-on fittings.
If the power cord is permanently assembled, contact the service techni-
cian. If the power cord is not permanently assembled, order and use a
new, original power cord.
c) Ensure that the machine and the power cord are not near any hot sur-
faces such as gas or electric stoves or ovens.
d) Ensure that the power cord is not pinched and does not chafe on sharp
edges.
WARNING
Risk of fatal injury from electrocution
Disconnect the device from the power grid before cleaning, maintaining or re-
placing parts. Secure the disconnection against reconnection.

WARNING
Risk of fire and explosion
Refrigerant R600a is highly flammable. If it escapes, it presents a fire and ex-
plosion risk.
a) When transporting and installing the cooling unit, make sure that no part
of the refrigeration circuit is damaged.
b) To minimize the risk of ignition, this appliance may only be installed by a
specialist authorized by Franke.
c) The appliance must be installed in a room with sufficient space.
d) Make sure that the device's ventilation openings are never blocked or ob-
structed.
e) Maintenance work may only be performed by qualified service personnel.
f) Do not use the appliance if it exhibits any signs of damage.
g) To avoid damaging the refrigeration circuit, do not use mechanical de-
vices or any other means to accelerate the defrosting process.
h) Never use jets of water or harmful substances to clean the cooling unit.
i) Do not expose the cooling unit to sources of heat.
j) In case of malfunction, disconnect the cooling unit from the power sup-
ply.
k) In case of refrigerant leaks, avoid any naked flames. Move anything
flammable away from the appliance and ventilate the room immediately.
l) In case of fire, use powder extinguishers.

WARNING
Risk of fire
If the power cord is electrically overloaded, the heat generated can cause a
fire.
a) Never use power outlet strips or extension cords to connect the device to
the power supply.
CAUTION
Irritation from cleaners
Cleaning tablets, milk system cleaning agents, and descaler can lead to irrita-
tions of the skin or eyes.
a) Observe the hazard warnings on the label of the respective cleaner.
b) Avoid contact with your eyes and skin.
c) Wash your hands after coming into contact with cleaners.
d) Cleaners must not find their way into drinks.
CAUTION
Spoiled milk
Spoiled milk could represent a health hazard.
a) Use only fresh, refrigerated milk.
b) Observe the storage conditions for milk.
c) Observe the shelf life of the milk used.

CAUTION
Germs in unpasteurized milk
Germs in unpasteurized milk could pose a health hazard.
a) Do not use any unpasteurized milk.
b) Only use pasteurized or long-life milk.

NOTICE
Spoiled milk
Insufficient cooling or hygiene can cause milk to spoil.
a) Only use pre-cooled milk (2.0−5.0 °C).
b) Only store milk in the cooling unit when the cooling unit is in operation.
Outside operating hours, e.g. overnight, store the milk in a cooling unit.
c) Clean the machine and cooling unit once a day.
d) Only touch the suction hose, the inside of the milk container, and the milk
lid after sanitizing your hands, or wear single use gloves.
e) Place the container lid with the suction hose on a clean surface only.
NOTICE
Damage to the device
Connection lines could be damaged by tensile load.
Moisture entering the device can cause damage.

An unsuitable location can lead to damage.
a) Never pull on the connection lines.
b) Lay the connection lines in such a way that they do not form tripping haz-
ards.
c) Do not use jets of water or steam for cleaning.
d) Do not expose the device to the elements, such as rain, frost or direct
sunlight.
e) Place the device only on a level, stable surface.

2 INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 Installation
Assembly may only be performed by a specialist authorized by Franke.
Tasks
– Unpack the device
– Check that the required free space (50 mm) has been left behind the de-
vice
– Check the electrical mains power connection
– Connect connection lines and connection hoses
– Attach the device
– Connect the power supply
– Switch on the device
– Put the device into operation with the coffee machine
2.2 Intended use
– The cooling unit is used exclusively to keep milk cool for the preparation
of coffee drinks with a Franke coffee machine.
– Only use pre-cooled milk.
– Remove the milk when the cooling unit is not in use. Store the milk in a
suitable cooling unit.
– Use only the recommended cleaners. Other cleaners may leave residues
in the milk system.
– The cooling unit is intended exclusively for operation indoors.
– Please also observe the Declaration of Conformity delivered with the de-
vice.

2.3 Non-authorized use
– Children under the age of 8 years are not permitted
to use the appliance.
– Children or persons with restricted physical, sensory
or mental abilities, or lack of experience and knowl-
edge, may only use the appliance under supervision
or after adequate instruction by a person responsi-
ble for their safety. Children are not allowed to play
with the appliance.
– Alcoholic, flammable, explosive substances or spray cans must not be
used or stored in the device.
– Do not store or use any electrical appliances inside the cooling unit.
Do not use the appliance in the following cases:
– If you are not familiar with its functions.
– If the appliance, power cord or connection lines are damaged.
– If the appliance has not been cleaned or filled as specified.
2.4 Function
The cooling unit has the following functions:
– Keeping the milk cool
– Preventing unauthorized access via a lockable door
2.5 Operation and care
Regular cleaning is a prerequisite for the pure and safe enjoyment of milk
drinks. You can find more detailed information on operating, configuring,
cleaning and caring for your cooling unit in the user manual for your coffee
machine.

Cleaning
Clean the milk system daily or when prompted by the coffee machine. Clean
the device and device parts with warm water and a mild cleaner. Use a dry
cloth for drying or leave to air-dry. Do not use hot air.
Clean daily:
• Interior chamber, inner side of the door and lip seal
• Milk container
• Suction hose
2.6 Malfunctions
Error messages will appear on the coffee machine's display in the case of
malfunctions. The error messages contain information regarding the cause
and resolution of the malfunction.
2.7 Transport, storage, decommissioning
– Clean the device
– Secure the device against accidents and do not set it up in an inclined
position
– Use suitable packaging for transport and storage
– Comply with the ambient conditions provided in the technical data

2.8 Disposal
– Observe the information on the label when disposing of any unused
cleaning supplies.
The machine complies with European Directive 2012/19/EU regarding Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and must not be disposed of with
household waste.
Dispose of electronic parts separately.
Dispose of plastic parts in accordance with their marking.
When decommissioned, the cooling unit must not be disposed of as municipal
waste but has to be separated and taken to a refuse recycling center. This is
indicated by the symbol on the product label.
Use recycling centers that are certified according to applicable regulations.
If not correctly disposed of, the device can be harmful to the environment due
to specific substances it contains. The refrigerant inside the device must not
be allowed to contaminate the environment.
Incorrect or illegal disposal of the product will lead to severe administrative
and/or criminal penalties, as set out in applicable laws.
