kortvarigt et versions-nr. samt GM-spændingen.
Når tælleren lige er tændt, måler den med en
måletid på 1 s. CPS er markeret i displayet
Andre visninger: Fra CPS trykkes en gang for at
vælge µSv/h relateret til Cs-137.
Tryk en gang mere for at vælge en midlet værdi
for tælletallet pr. sekund –Mean CPS.
Andre måleperioder: Tryk eller , indtil Pulse
markeres i displayet. Instrumentet tæller nu i
perioder, som fra starten er 10 s.
Tryk HOLD HOLD, og indstil måleperioden med
og . Enheden er sekunder. Markeringen ”---”
betyder uendelig tælling.
Vælg med CAL / fortryd med HOLD.
Indstilling af GM-spænding: Tryk CAL, og indstil
spændingen med og .
Vælg med CAL.
Tællehastigheden (CPS) vises imens i sekundær-
displayet. Denne indstilling returnerer til
standardværdien, når instrumentet slukkes.

60 eller 100 s)
•Visning af dosishastighed (µSv/h) relateret
til Cs137.
•GM-rørets spænding kan justeres mellem

Beskrivelse
GM-røret
Røret er forsynet med en hætte til beskyttelse af
det følsomme vindue. Ved måling af gamma-
stråling kan hætten blive på; ved alfa- og
betastråling tages hætten af.
OBS: Selvom selve GM-røret er beskyttet af et
plastkabinet, så er selve røret i sin konstruktion
forholdsvis skrøbeligt. Særlig opmærksomhed skal
der rettes mod sensorens indstrålingstop, når
hætten er fjernet i forbindelse med Alfa- og
Betamålinger. Undlad derfor at tabe eller klemme
instrumentet eller at berøre/støde mod
indstrålingstoppen.
Er uheldet ude som beskrevet ovenfor så vil røret
typisk krakelere. Det er dog muligt at få røret
udskiftet - En serviceopgave, vi kan tilbyde til en
aftalt pris.
Tid
Måleperioden 1 s opnås ved at vælge funktionen
CPS (counts per second). Alle øvrige tide, inklusiv
uendeligt, opnås med funktionen Pulse. Når
apparatet har været slukket, er måleperioden for
Pulse 10 s.
For at ændre perioden, trykkes HOLD HOLD, og
indstil måleperioden med og . Enheden er
sekunder. Markeringen ”---” betyder uendelig
tælling.
Vælg med CAL / fortryd med HOLD.
Ved Pulse målinger kan man følge forløbet af hver
måleperiode på %-skalaen øverst.

GM-spænding
Rørets spænding kan justeres i spring på 10 V.
Normal driftsspænding er 500 V.
Det er muligt at følge tællehastigheden (CPS) i
sekundær-displayet, mens spændingen justeres.
Derved kan man forholdsvis let estimere knæ-
spændingen for røret. Dette bør gøres ved at øge
spændingen idet reaktionstiden er noget længere,
når spændingen mindskes.
Tryk CAL, og indstil spændingen med og .
Vælg med CAL.
Denne indstilling returnerer til standardværdien,
når instrumentet slukkes.
Indstilling af standardværdi for GM-spænding
Sluk apparatet med OFF. Hold CAL nedtrykket,
mens der tændes igen (indtil CAL vises i displayet),
Indstil spændingen med og . Vælg med CAL.
Statistik
Instrumentet holder styr på den maksimale,
minimale og gennemsnitlige værdi for CPS og
µSv/h. Statistikfunktionen starter, så snart
instrumentet tændes.
Værdierne fremkaldes således:
HOLD Display: [HOLD
MAX] Viser max. CPS og
µSv/h HOLD = exit
HOLD  Display: [HOLD MIN
] Viser min. CPS og
µSv/h HOLD = exit
HOLD  Display: [HOLD AVG

Nulstilling
Hvis man i stedet for det afsluttende tryk på HOLD
trykker på CAL, genstarter statistikfunktionen og
anvender de aktuelle værdier for CPS og µSv/h
som udgangspunkt.
Instrumentet har et USB-lignende stik gemt under
et dæksel. Det er ikke beregnet til tilslutning af
USB-enheder. (Benyttes under produktionen til
testformål.)

Power on: Press ON to power on the instrument.
The display briefly shows a version number and
the GM voltage. Immediately after the counter has
been turned on, the counting period is 1 s –CPS is
indicated on the display.
Other views: From CPS press once to select
µSv/h relative to Cs-137.
Press once more to select the mean value of
counts per second –Mean CPS.
Other counting periods: Press or until Pulse
is highlighted in the display. The instrument now
counts for a selectable period, starting with 10 s.
Press HOLD HOLD and set the measurement
period with and .
The unit is seconds. The symbol “---“means
indefinite counting.
Select with CAL / cancel with HOLD.
Setting the GM voltage: Press CAL and adjust the
voltage withand .Select with CAL.
Counting rate (CPS) is shown in the secondary
display during the adjustment.
This setting returns to the default value when the
instrument is turned on.

Description
The GM tube
The Geiger tube is provided with a cap to protect
the sensible window. When working with gamma
radiation, the cap may remain in place. Remove
the cap when alpha or beta radiation is involved.
NOTE: Although the GM tube itself is protected by
a plastic housing, the tube itself is relatively fragile
in its construction. Particular attention should be
paid to the radiation stop of the sensor when the
cap is removed in connection with Alpha and Beta
measurements. Therefore, do not drop or squeeze
the instrument or touch / strike the radiation
peak.
If the accident is out as described above, the pipe
will typically crack. However, it is possible to have
the tube replaced - A service assignment we can
offer at an agreed price.
Time
The counting period 1 s is achieved by selecting
CPS (counts per second). All other periods,
including infinity is obtained with the Pulse
setting, When the instrument has been turned off,
the measurement period for Pulse is 10 s.
To change the period, press HOLD HOLD and
set the measurement period with and .
The unit is seconds. The symbol “---“means infinite
counting.
Select with CAL / cancel with HOLD.
During Pulse measurements, the progress of each
measurement can be followed on the % scale at
the top

GM voltage
The tube voltage can be adjusted in increments of
10 V. Nominal voltage is 500 V.
It is possible to follow the count rate (CPS) in the
secondary display while the voltage is adjusted.
Thus, one can fairly easily estimate the knee
voltage of the tube. This should be done by
increasing the voltage as the response time is
somewhat longer when the voltage is reduced.
Press CAL and adjust the voltage with and .
Select with CAL.
This setting returns to default value when the
instrument is turned off.
Setting the default value for the GM voltage
Switch off with OFF. Keep CAL pressed while
turning on again (until the symbol CAL is
displayed).
Set the voltage with and . Select with CAL.
Statistics
The instrument keeps track of the maximum,
minimum and average value of the CPS and
µSv/h. The statistics functions start when the
instrument is switched on.
The values are displayed like this:
HOLD Display: [HOLD
MAX] shows max. CPS and
µSv/h HOLD = exit
HOLD  Display: [HOLD MIN
] Shows min. CPS and
µSv/h HOLD = exit
HOLD  Display: [HOLD AVG
] Shows avg. CPS and
µSv/h HOLD = exit
Resetting
Instead of pressing HOLD in the end, press CAL to
restart the statistics functions and use the current
values for CPS and µSv/h as new starting point.
The instrument has a USB-like socket placed under
a cover. This is not for connection of USB devices.
(It is used during production for test purposes.)
