FRIGIDAIRE, THROUGH ITS
AUTHORIZED SERVICERS, WILL:
Pay all costs for repairing or replacing parts

Repair or replace any parts in the Sealed
Refrigeration System (compressor,
condenser,evaporatorandtubing)provesto
bedefectiveinmaterialsorworkmanship.
All of the provisions of the full and limited
warranties above and the exclusions listed
belowapply.
This warranty applies only to products in ordinary household use, and the consumer is responsible for the items
listed below.
1. Properuseoftheapplianceinaccordancewithinstructionsprovidedwiththeproduct.
2. Properinstallationbyanauthorizedservicerinaccordancewithinstructionsprovidedwiththeapplianceandinaccordance
withalllocalplumbing,electricaland/orgascodes.
3. Properconnectiontoagroundedpowersupplyofsufficientvoltage,replacementofblownfuses,repairoflooseconnections
ordefectsinhousewiring.
4. Expensesformakingtheapplianceaccessibleforservicing,suchasremovaloftrim,cupboards,shelves,etc.,whichare
notapartoftheappliancewhenitwasshippedfromthefactory.
5. Damagestofinishafterinstallation.
6. Replacementoflightbulbsand/orfluorescenttubes(onmodelswiththesefeatures).
This warranty does not cover the following:
1. CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES SUCH AS PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES
RESULTINGFROMANYBREACHOFTHISWRITTENORANYIMPLIEDWARRANTY.Note:Somestatesdonotallow

3. Damagescaused byservices performedbypersonsotherthan authorizedFrigidaire servicers;useofpartsother than
FrigidaireGenuineRenewalParts;obtainedfrompersonsotherthansuchservicers;orexternalcausessuchasabuse,
misuse,inadequatepowersupplyoractsofGod.
4. Productswithoriginalserialnumbersthathavebeenremovedoralteredandcannotbereadilydetermined.
Keepyourbillofsale,deliveryslip,orsomeotherappropriatepaymentrecord.Thedateonthebillestablishesthewarranty
periodshouldserviceberequired.Ifserviceisperformed,itisinyourbestinteresttoobtainandkeepallreceipts.Thiswritten

Prevent Accidents

• Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall
receptacleyouintendtouseisnotadequatelygroundedorprotectedbyatimedelayfuse
orcircuitbreaker,haveaqualifiedelectricianinstalltheproperreceptacle.
• Do not run air conditioner with outside protective cover in place. This could result in
mechanicaldamagewithintheairconditioner.
• Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
• Thecapacityoftheroomairconditionermustfittheroomsizeforefficientandsatisfactory
operation.
• Installtheroomairconditionerontheshadysideofyourhome.Awindowthatfacesnorth
isbestbecauseitisshadedmostoftheday.
• Do not block air flow inside with blinds, curtains or furniture; or outside with shrubs,
enclosures,orotherbuildings.
• Close the fireplace damper, floor and wall registers so cool air does not escape up the
chimneyandintotheductwork.
• Keepblindsanddrapesinotherwindowsclosedduringthesunniestpartoftheday.
• Cleantheairfilterasrecommendedinthesection“CareandCleaning.”
• Properinsulationandweatherstrippinginyourhomewillhelpkeepwarmairoutandcool

• Externalhouseshadingwithtrees,plantsorawningswillhelpreducetheairconditioner’s
workload.
• Operate heat producing appliances such as ranges, washers, dryers and dishwashers

To begin operating the air conditioner, follow these steps:
1. Setthethermostattothehighestnumber(coldestorcoolersetting).
2. SettheselectorcontroltothehighestCOOLsetting.
3. Adjustthelouversforcomfortableairflow(seeAirDirectionalLouvers).
4. Oncetheroomhascooled,adjustthethermostattothesettingyoufindmostcomfortable.
Reviewthe“AirConditionerFeatures”sectionforothersettings.
NOTE: If the air conditioner is turned off,
wait3minutesbeforerestarting.Thisallows
pressure inside the compressor and
equalize.Failuretofollowtheseinstructions
maybeharmfultoyourunit.
The controls featured in this manual are representative of many available models. Your model
may offer slightly different features.
Cool Mode
Thedesiredcoolsettingisselectedbyrotatingtheknobtotherighttotheappropriatelocation.
“hi cool”hasmaximumcoolingeffectandairflow.
“lo cool”hasminimumcoolingeffectandairflow.
“med cool”hastheintermediatecoolingeffectandairflow.
Note:Ifyourunitisequippedwithaventhandle,keepitclosedformaximumefficiency.
Fan Mode
Rotatetheknobtothelefttoselectyourchoiceoffanspeedsforaircirculation.
Note:Whenselectingafanspeed,thecompressorwillnotrun.Onmodelswithaventcontrol,
thismodecanbeusedtoremovestaleairfromtheroom,ortodrawfreshairintotheroom.
Checkthesection‘AdditionalThingsYouShouldKnow’.
Thermostat
Thethermostatisusedtosetthedesiredroomtemperaturewhentheunitisbeingoperated
inthe“COOL MODE”.
Tosetthedesiredroomtemperature,rotatethethermostatswitchtothedesiredsetting.After
thesettemperatureisachievedthethermostatwillautomaticallystartandstopthecompressor
inordertomaintainthedesiredsettemperature.
Rotate the thermostat selector clockwise for higher cool settings. Higher cool settings will
providelowerroomtemperature.
Rotatethethermostatselectorcounterclockwiseforlowercoolsettings.Lowercoolsettings
willprovidehigherroomtemperature.
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the
IMPORTANTSAFETYINSTRUCTIONSbeforeoperatingthisappliance.
The powersupply cordcontains acurrentdevice thatsenses damagetothe powercord.Totestyour
powersupplycorddothefollowing:
1. PlugintheAirConditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TESTbutton. You will
noticeaclickastheRESETbuttonpopsout.
3. PresstheRESETbutton.Againyouwillnoticeaclickasthebuttonengages.
4. Thepowersupplycordisnowsupplyingelectricitytotheunit.(Onsomeproductsthisisalsoindicated
byalightontheplughead).
NOTES:
• Donotusethisdevicetoturntheunitonoroff.
• AlwaysmakesuretheRESETbuttonispushedinforcorrectoperation.
• ThepowersupplycordmustbereplacedifitfailstoresetwheneithertheTESTbuttonispushed,or
itcannotbereset.Anewonecanbeobtainedfromtheproductmanufacturer.
• Ifpowersupplycordisdamaged,itCANNOTberepaired.ItMUSTbereplacedbyoneobtainedfrom
theproductmanufacturer.

the room as needed. Rotate theAuger Wheels until the desired Left/Right direction is

Care and Cleaning Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure to unplug the
unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.
Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary.
Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the
coolingcoils.
• PushtheventhandletotheVentClosedposition(whereapplicable).
• Openthefrontpanel.
• Graspthefilterbythecenterandpullupandout.
• Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter
thoroughly.Gentlyshakeexcesswaterfromthefilter. Be sure filter is thoroughly dry
beforereplacing.
• Or,insteadofwashingyoumayvacuumthefilterclean.
Cabinet Cleaning
• Besuretounplugtheairconditionertopreventshockorfirehazard.Thecabinetand
frontmaybedustedwithanoil-freeclothorwashedwithaclothdampenedinasolution
ofwarmwaterandmildliquiddishwashingdetergent.Rinsethoroughlyandwipedry.
• Neveruseharshcleaners,waxorpolishonthecabinetfront.
• Besuretowringexcesswaterfromtheclothbeforewipingaroundthecontrols.Excess
waterinoraroundthecontrolsmaycausedamagetotheairconditioner.
• Pluginairconditioner.
Winter Storage
If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully from the
window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with plastic or return it to the
originalcarton.
