Overview

Toensureasafeworkingenvironmentforbothyouandtheprinter,itisnecessarytotreatthe
printerandaccessorieswithcare.Carefullyreadandunderstandallofthecontentsbefore
operatingyourprinter.

UseonlyprintingmaterialsfromFullSpectrumLaser(FSL)orapprovedpartners.Useofother
materialsmaydamageyourmachineandwillvoidyourwarranty.Modifyingtheprinterwithout
FSL’sapprovalwillinvalidatethewarrantyandmayposeahealthhazard.Neverattemptto
operateyourprinterwiththelidopen.
Whenyoureceiveyourprinter,pleasecarefullyinspectitforanyshippingdamage.Ifthereare
anyissues,contactTechnicalSupportimmediatelyviaemail([email protected]).Please

PrinterSafety
● ThereflectedLEDlightoftheprojectorisnotharmfultotheeyes,howeveritisnot
recommendedtoruntheprinterwiththeyellowcoveropen.
● Donotopentheprintercase.Thiswillvoidyourwarrantyandcouldexposetheuserto
electricalshock.
● Donotblocktheprinterairvents.
● Regularlyclearairventsofalldust,dirtandotherdebristhatmightpreventorhinder
printercooling.
WorkArea
● Theprintermustbeinstalledonalevelsurfacetopreventspillageofresin.Theresin
mayspilloutduringtheliftcyclesifthesurfaceisuneven. 
● Keepaboardnearbytouseunderneaththebuildheadwhenremovingprints.Thiswill
preventresinfromdrippingoverthefrontoftheprinter.
● Theprintermustbeinstalledinalocationawayfromdirectsunlightorintenseartificial
lightsources.Theseenvironmentscouldprematurelycureyourresin.
● Toensureresinflowsproperly,theworkareashouldbekeptbetween(15°C/60°F)and
(26°C/80°F).
● Theprinteritselfemitsnofumesandtheresincontainszerovolatileorganiccompounds.
However,IsopropylAlcohol(IPA)iscommonlyusedtofinishprintssoanareawithgood
ventilationisrecommended.
Resin
FSLphotopolymerresinisamildirritant.FollowstandardsafetyproceduresandFSLhandling
instructions.
● OnlyuseresinfromFSLorapprovedpartners.Using3rdpartyresinmaydamageyour
machineandvoidyourwarranty.
● Wearprotectivegloveswhenhandlingtheresin.Gogglesarealsorecommended.
● Resinisnotedibleinliquidorsolidform.
● Liquidandsolidformsofresinarenotapprovedforusewithfoodordrink.
● Liquidandsolidformsofresinarenottestedorapprovedforuseinmedicalapplications.
● Donotmixtheresinwithanysubstances.
● Theresinislightsensitive,soavoidlongexposuretostrongartificiallightingorsunlight.
ThetransparentyellowcoverisdesignedtofilterUVlight,butstrongexteriorlightmay
enterandcuretheresin.Itisimportantthattheunitbekeptoutofdirectsunlightor
highintensityartificiallight.
● Toavoidcontamination,donotpourusedresinbackintotheoriginalbottle.Itissafeto
storeresininthebuildtrayforaperiodof24hrsorlessbetweenprints.Forperiods
greaterthan24hours,werecommendtoemptythebuildtrayandtofiltertheresin.
Storefilteredresininalightproofcontainer.




● Werecommendcoloredresinsbegentlystirredfor5minutesbeforeuseifleftsittingfor
morethan7daysduetopossiblepigmentsettling.
● Allresinshouldbestoredinacool,dryplaceatornearroomtemperaturebetween
(15°C/60°F)and(26°C/80°F).
● PleaserefertoAppendixD:MaterialSafetyData(resin)forinformationonhandling,
storage,properties,andanoutlineofMaterialSafetyoftheresin.
IsopropylAlcoholUse
IsopropylAlcohol(IPA)shouldneverbeusedtocleanprintercomponents,includingthe
SuperVAT™,buildhead,lidandprinterexterior.Onlyusepaperproductsforprintercleaning
purposes.IPAmaybeusedtocleanandcureprintedpartsoncetheyhavebeenseparated
fromthebuildhead.
 




Unpacking

Onceyouhaveremovedtheunitfromthebox,youwillneedtodothefollowingtopreparethe
machine(wirecuttersorscissorsrequired)
1. Removeallwrappingandpackagingmaterialfromtheexterior.Remembertokeepall
foampackingshouldtherebeaneedtoreturn,shipormovetheprintertoanother
location.
2. Verifythatyouhaveallthecomponentsincludedinthepackinglistbelow.
3. Inspecttheinteriorandexterioroftheprinterfordamage.ContactFSLimmediatelyif
anydamageisdiscovered.

AdditionalRecommendedTools
DuetothenatureofStereolithography(SLA)Printing,certainremovalandcleaningprocesses
arerequired.Werecommendthepurchaseofanumberoftoolstoassistinremovingprints
fromthebuildhead,cleaningprints,andfilteringresin.Someofthesetoolsaresharpandmay
causeinjuryifusedimproperly.Alwaystakecarewhenremovingpartsfromthebuildheadand
handletoolsinasafemanner.


Setup

Yourworkareashouldbekeptbetween(15°C/60°F)and(26°C/80°F)toensureconsistent
prints.Besurethattheprinterisonalevelsurfaceandawayfromdirectsunlight.TheUV
blockingyellowcovershouldpreventprematurecuringfromdailylighting,butavoidlong
exposuretostrongartificiallightingorsunlight.Verifythatyourmachineiscleanand
undamaged.


1. Chooseyourconnectionmethodandconnectwiththecorrespondingports.Ethernetis
prefered,butUSBPCconnection,WiFiconnection,anddirectUSBthumbdrivesare
alsosupported(MiniBUSBcable,Wifidongle,andthumbdrivenotincluded).
2. Connectthefemaleendofyourpowercabletothecorrespondingportintherearofthe
machine.
3. Flipthepowerswitchtotheonposition.
4. Themachineshouldbootwithin90seconds.



