Adjustment during flight
•Precautions before fliaht
Sincethe piezoelectric gyro usesa angular ac-
celeration command control system, the rudder
has anexcellent effect despite the highgain.
Ifhovering was performed at100%dualrate (rudder) in
the past, reduce itto about 80%.When you want to per-
form a fastspin, use 100%.Since the rudder isvery ef-
fective nearthe neutral position, exponential use(40to
60% forhovering, 60to 80% forforward flight)
Set rudder trim, rudder offset, and revolution mixing rate
toabout1/3oftheirnormalvalue.Startrudderoffset
from neutral.
Sensitivity adjustment points
The suitable sensitivity depends on the fuselage, tailrotor,
tail drive shaft, servo, and servo horn. However, when start-
ingadjustment, start with the following value as the set
value standard.
Sensitivity setting forhovering: 70 to 80%
Sensitivity setting forforward flight and aerobatics:
40 to 50%
'Adjust the sensitivitywithinthe range at which hunting
doesnotoccur when moved duringhovering.
*lf the aircraftwas suddenly stopped during operation ata
highangular acceleration, hunting may occur. Adjustthe
sensitivity sothat huntingdoesnotoccur over the neces-
sary operating range.
*For forwardflight, adjust the sensitivity within the rangeat
which does notoccur hunting.
Trim
adjustment
If the trim changes, usethefuselagerodtoadjustthetrimto
near the neutral position.
Revolution mixing adjustment
Make the mixing amount small. Ifthe mixing amount is
large, control isinthe reverse direction. (About 1/3of nor-
mal)
Rudder steering angle adjustment
Perform left and right pirouette. Ifthe left and right rotation
speeds are different, reduce the highsidebyrudderATV
function.
(Operatingprecautions)
•Donotmove the aircraft forfour or five seconds after turn-
ingon the gyro power (shared with receiver). Since initial-
ization isautomatically performed inside the gyro immedi-
ately after the power isturned on, ifthe aircraft ismoved at
that time, the neutral position may change.Inthiscase, turn
on the power again.
•Ifthe gyro remains inthestatic state fora longtime, the
neutral position may change. Inthis case, correct itbyturn-
ingon the power again.
•Avoid sudden temperature changes.Suddentemperature
changes willcause the neutral position to change. Forex-
ample, inthe winter, do not flyimmediately after removing
the model frominside a heated car and inthe summer, do
notflyimmediately after removing the model frominside an
air conditioned car. Allow the model to stand forabout 10
minutes and turn on the power after the temperature inside
the gyro hasstabilized. Also, ifthe gyro isexposed to direct
sunlight or ismounted near the engine, the temperature
may change suddenly. Take suitable measures so that the
gyro isnotexposed to direct sunlight, etc.
•Since the transmitter rudder channel isoperated as the
angular acceleration command, do not adjust the rudder
channel throw (ATV function) when the aircraft isstatic. Use
ATV function to adjust the rudder effect.
•When the aircraft isstatic, a dead zone iscreated intrans-
mitter stick operation. However, this isdone to protect the
linkageand to restrict the servo output.
•Check the remaining receiver and gyro servo nicdbattery
operating time during the adjustment stage and decide how
many flightsare remaining.
(Fuselage maintenance precautions)
•The
rigidity
of
the fuselage tail has a large effect ongyro
performance. Therefore, proper maintenance from thebe-
ginning isessential for ultimate performance.
•Fuselage vibration also has anadverse affect ongyro op-
eration. Make the fuselage vibration as small as possible.
