The Energy SaverSwitch controls
the fan operation. When it’sin the
NORM position, the fanwill
circulate room air continuously.
When it’sin the SAVEposition, the
fan will automatically cycleon and
off with the compressor.

VENTILATION

When theAIR IN and AIR OUT
buttonsare in the outposition,the
ventdoor is closedand onlythe air
insidethe roomcan be circulated
and conditioned.
Pushthe AIR IN buttonand it will
stayin, andthe ventdoor will open
to allowasmallamountof outdoor
air to enter the room. Pushthe AIR
IN buttonagainand it will return to
the outpositionand the ventdoor
will close.
Push the AIR OUT button and it
will stayin, and theventdoor will
open to allowair, smoke and odors
to be exhaustedfrom the room.
Push the AIR OUT buttonagain
and itwill return to the out position
and the ventdoor will close.

mildliquiddishwashingdetergent,
or clean withavacuumcleaner
brush. Becareful notto forcethe
movablelouversoutofposition.
Otherareas behind thegrille may
bewiped or vacuumed, takingcare
notto damagethe coil fins,
Washcabinetwith mild soapor
detergentand Jukewarmwater.
Never use strong chemicals,
solventsor bleachingagen&.

These coilson the weather side
ofthe unit shouldbe checked
periodically and cleaned if clogged
withdirtorsootfromtheatmosphere.
If extremelysoiled, theymayneed
tobesteamcleaned,aserviceavtiable
throughyour GE service outlet.
The air filterbehind the frontgrille
shouldbe checkedand cleanedat
leastevery 30daysor asoftenas it
needs
Toremovethe fi~ter:
Grasp the tab atthe bottomofthe
unit and pull downward.
C1eanthe filter with avacuum
cleaner to removelightdust. Wash
the filter in lukewarm, soapywater
and rinse in clear waterto remove
sticky dust.
When replacing the fi~ter,be sure
the word FRONTTis facingyou as
you slide the filter back intoplace.
Air InletGrilleRemoval
If yourair conditioneris Imounted
flushinsidethe roomor if the
windowsillextendsfartherintothe
roomthan thechassis,it maybe
necessaryto removethe air inlet
grillebeforethe filtercan be
Toremovethegrille,pulltheair
inlet grille outbygraspingthe front
at one sideand pushingdownon
the topto disengagethe tab. Do the
sameto the other side.
The air filter can nowbe removed
from the grille—graspthe tab on
the filter and pull.
After cleaning, replacethe air filter
and air inletgrille, pushing the
grille intoplace.
