Getting started:
■Plug the power supply into the back of
the unit and then into the mains supply.
■To activate the speaker, press the
STANDBY / ON button.
■To select the mode, press MODE on the
speaker to scroll between the options
(DAB, FM, iPod, AUX).
For use with iPod:
■Press the MODE button to select iPod mode.
■Select and insert the correct iPod docking
adapter to suit your iPod.
■Carefully insert your iPod into the dock,
playback will start automatically.
■Press INFO or PRESETS to scan
through tracks.
■Press VOL +/- to adjust the volume.
■Press SCAN to play or pause a track.
■To navigate your iPod menus, use the MENU
button, SELECT dial and SELECT button.
N.B. Charges all iPod models when docked,
excluding 1st and 3rd generation.
For use with DAB radio:
■Extend the radio antenna.
■Press the MODE button to select DAB mode.
■For initial use the radio will make a full scan,
and store the stations in memory.
■Turn the SELECT dial to scan through
available stations. Press SELECT to confirm.

■To find other stations press the MENU button
and use the SELECT dial to scroll between
Station List, Full Scan, or Manual Tune.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to scan through
available stations. Press SELECT to confirm.
■Press the INFO button to scroll through the
available information (station name, current
time & date, signal strength and frequency).
■To select station order, press the MENU
button and use the SELECT dial to scroll to
Station Order. Press SELECT to confirm.
■Use the SELECT dial to scroll between
Alphanumeric and Ensemble. Press
SELECT to confirm.
Alphanumeric – Display all stations in
alphanumeric order.
Ensemble – List active stations (ones that are
currently broadcasting) before inactive ones.
For use with FM radio:
■Extend the radio antenna.
■Press the MODE button to select FM mode.
■Turn the SELECT dial to select the desired
frequency, alternatively press the SCAN
button to auto-search.
■Press the INFO button to scroll through the
available information (station name, current
time & date, signal strength and frequency).
To save a preset
frequency:
■You can set up to 20 DAB presets and
20 FM presets.
■Adjust the radio to your desired frequency then
press and hold the PRESETS
button. Use
the SELECT dial to scroll through preset
stations 1-20 and find a free preset. Press
SELECT to confirm.
■To scan through your preset stations press
MODE to select DAB or FM. Press the
PRESETS button and use the SELECT
dial to scroll through presets.
To reset the radio:
■Press the MENU button and then use the
SELECT dial and button to choose:
System > Factory Reset.
■Turn the SELECT dial to scroll to ‘YES’
and press SELECT to confirm. Your presets
will be erased and the radio returned to its
factory settings.

For use with other
audio devices:
■Press the MODE button to select AUX mode.
■Plug a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into
your CD, MP3 or MP4 player, and connect
the other end into the AUX jack at the back
of the unit.
■Press play on your CD, MP3 or MP4 player.
To set the clock and date:
■Press the CLOCK button to set the time.
■Turn the SELECT dial to adjust the hour.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to adjust the minutes.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Set the date using the same method.
To set the alarm:
■Press the ALARM button to set the
alarm function.
■To set alarm 1, turn the SELECT dial to
Alarm 1. Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to select ‘ON’.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to adjust the hour.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to adjust the minutes.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to set the alarm
duration time (duration options: 15, 30, 45,
60 or 90) Press SELECT to confirm.
N.B. Duration time is the amount of time the
alarm will sound for in total. If the snooze button
is pressed within this time, the remaining time
will continue when the alarm sounds again after
the snooze interval.
■Turn the SELECT dial to set alarm mode
– DAB, FM, iPod, or Buzzer. Press SELECT
to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to scroll through alarm
settings (daily, once, weekends, weekdays).
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to set the volume.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to the Save option.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■To set alarm 2, repeat the above steps.
Sleep and snooze
functions:
■Sleep: The sleep timer switches the unit off
automatically after preset intervals. To set,
press the MENU button, use the SELECT dial
to select System > Sleep. Press SELECT to
confirm. Use the SELECT dial to select 0-90.

N.B. The sleep function can only be set when
out of standby.
■Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the
SNOOZE button once to set for 5 minutes,
twice for 10 minutes etc (snooze options:
5, 10, 15, 30).
To set the date:
■Press the MENU button and then use
the SELECT dial and button to choose:
System > Time. Press SELECT to confirm.
■Turn the SELECT dial to choose between
Auto Update or Set Date. Press SELECT
to confirm.
IF YOU CHOOSE THE SET TIME /
DATE OPTION:
■Press SELECT 3 times to move through the
time settings.
■Turn the SELECT dial to change the date.
Press SELECT to confirm.
■Set the month and year using the same
method.
■For Auto Update, the date will be taken
automatically from the DAB program.
N.B. The time and date will therefore not update
unless you are playing through DAB radio.

Use of controls or adjustments of performance
of procedures other than those specified may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.
UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
Unpack your unit carefully. We recommend that
you save the packaging in case you ever need
to store your unit. To avoid damage, never place
the unit or it’s batteries near radiators, in front of
heating vents, under direct sunlight or near water.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
– When disconnecting the power supply from
the mains, pull the plug from the wall. Do not
pull out by the cable.
– Never handle the power plug with wet hands,
as this could cause fire or electric shock.
– Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
– Do not open the housing.
– Do not twist or pinch the power supply cable.
If the plug or power supply cable needs to
be replaced, ensure that it complies with the
manufacturer’s recommendation.
– Unplug the unit during lightning storms and
when unused for extended periods of time.

GEAR4 One-Year Warranty
Disruptive Ltd owners of the GEAR4 brand warrants this product to be free from defects in
workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year
from the date of original purchase (“Warranty Period”).
THE WARRANTY DESCRIBED IN THIS PARAGRAPH SHALL BE IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER
WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
This warranty does not apply to damage or defects caused by failure to follow the enclosed
instructions, accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, product modification, faulty ancillary
equipment, improper voltage or current, lightning or other acts of God, commercial non-home
use, normal wear and tear, shipping damage or loss, damage to digital media players or damage
caused by service performed by anyone other than GEAR4.
GEAR4 will, at its option, repair or replace any product covered by this warranty that proves to be
defective in workmanship or materials. If your product is no longer being manufactured or is out
of stock, at its option, GEAR4 may replace your product with a similar or better product. GEAR4’s
liability is limited to the repair or replacement, at our option, of any defective product under warranty
and shall not include any incidental or consequential damages. This warranty is valid only in Europe,
is not transferable and does not extend to users other than the original purchaser.

Return Policy / Warranty Service
Proof of Purchase as evidence the unit was purchased from an authorised dealer within the
Warranty Period is required for warranty service. In order to make a warranty claim, the purchaser
must contact GEAR4 within 60 days of occurrence. If service is required, do not return the product
without first contacting GEAR4. To get this product repaired or replaced, you must contact GEAR4
during the Warranty Period by email (support@gear4.com). You must include your email address,
name, address, telephone number, date and place of purchase, alternative contact and a detailed
description of the problem you are experiencing and the name / details of the product.
If the problem appears to be based on a defect in workmanship or materials, GEAR4 will provide
a Return to Manufacturer Authorisation number and instructions for return shipment. Return
shipments are at the customer’s expense, and the return MUST be accompanied by the original
proof of purchase. GEAR4 is not responsible for lost or damaged product during shipment. Any
product returned without the original proof of purchase will be returned at the customer’s expense.
To avoid any charges, all returns and exchanges must include the original packing materials,
product box, all included accessories which may include, without limitation, power adapter or
power cord, connecting cables, remote control, adapters, inserts cards and instruction manuals.
Any replacement units or parts may be new or rebuilt. GEAR4 will not be liable for inconvenience,
loss of time, loss of use of the product, lost profits or exemplary or consequential damages caused
by or relating to this product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from country
to country. Some countries do not allow the exclusion or limitations of incidental or consequential
damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above may not apply to you.
Purchase or use of the GEAR4 product constitutes your acknowledgement of, and agreement
to completely abide by, the forgoing warranty and disclaimers.
