• Geberit Brenta washbasin tap, deck- and wall-mounted
This document applies to the models of these washbasin taps with Bluetooth® interface. The
specification plates for these washbasin taps are labelled with ‘IWT-17-A’ and the Geberit Connect
logo.
Target group
Maintenance and repair work on this product may only be performed by skilled persons. A skilled
person is a person who, due to their specialist education, training and/or experience, is able to
recognise risks and avoid hazards that may arise when using the product.
Intended use
The Geberit washbasin taps Piave and Brenta are intended to extract tap water. Using them for any
other purpose is deemed improper. Geberit accepts no liability for the consequences of improper
use.
Explanation of warning notes
Warning notes are placed at the location at which the hazard may occur.
Warning notes are structured as follows:

Operation
Geberit Apps
Various Geberit apps are available for operation, settings and maintenance. The apps communicate with the
device via a Bluetooth® interface.
The Geberit apps are available free of charge for Android and iOS smartphones in the respective App
Stores.
Establishing connection with device

Rectifying malfunctions
The operator can perform the following measures to rectify malfunctions:
• Clean the tap aerator
• Clean the basket filter
• Replace the batteries
• Charge the rechargeable battery for generator operation
These measures are described in the operation manual 970.664.00.0.

Maintenance
Maintenance performed by the
operator
The operator may perform the following

• Activate cleaning with the Geberit App
• Activate continuous flush with the Geberit App
• Clean the tap housing
• Clean the tap aerator
• Adjust the water temperature
• Clean the basket filter
• Replace the batteries
• Charge the rechargeable battery for generator
operation
Maintenance performed by skilled
persons
The maintenance work described in the following
chapters may only be performed by skilled persons.
Performing thermal disinfection
If the drinking water installation is contaminated
with microorganisms, it may be necessary to
disinfect the installation thermally. During this
process, the microorganisms in the water are killed
off by the effects of temperature.
The Geberit Piave and Brenta washbasin taps with
thermostatic mixer have a scald protection feature.
This limits the water temperature to 42°C. When
performing a thermal disinfection, the temperature
limitation feature in the thermostatic mixer must be
deactivated so the water temperature can be
increased.
During thermal disinfection, hot water (70°C) needs
to run for at least 3minutes at all points of use.
1Detach the cover plate. → See figure
sequence 1, page45.
2Deactivate temperature limitation. Press in
the spring with a screwdriver and open the
hand wheel all the way.




3Heat the water heater to at least 70°C.

4Open the solenoid valve using the Geberit
Service Handy. → See "Make settings using
the Geberit Service Handy", page 33,
menu item 20.
5Make sure that hot water (70°C) has run for
at least 3minutes. Check with a
thermometer.
6Close the solenoid valve.
7Reactivate temperature limitation. Close the
hand wheel and set the desired temperature
(20–42°C).

8Test the water temperature.

Replacing the functional unit
1Detach the cover plate. → See figure

2Close both shut-off units or angle stop

3Actuate the flush to relieve the pressure.
4Demount the control electronics.
5Disconnect all cables.
6Remove the power supply cable from its
bracket and demount the power supply unit,
battery compartment or rechargeable
battery.




Check the hose adapter.
In the case of a functional unit without a
thermostatic mixer, the one-piece or two-
piece hose adapter may be used.
In the case of a functional unit with a
thermostatic mixer, the two-piece hose
adapter must be used (art. no.
244.632.00.1). Replace the hose adapter if
necessary.
Detach the front part of the hose adapter.


snap the power supply cable into the
bracket.

11 Connect the cable to the control electronics.

14 Test the function of the tap.

13 Pull out the sensor cable from the protecting
hose.
14 Loosen the sensor bracket.

15 Pull out the lower part of the sensor bracket
and push the IR sensor backward.

16 Pull the sensor bracket downwards and out
and dispose of the sensor.
17 Mount a new sensor onto the sensor bracket
and insert into the tap.
18 Position the IR sensor in the window and
push the sensor bracket together.

