DIGITAL POCKET SCALE CONTROL PANEL 5
BUTTON ID & EXPLANATION
Before using the Platinum MP601, to activate the
installed batteries, remove the plastic tab which serves
as the battery insulator power discharge protector
located on the battery terminal inside of the battery
compartment.
1. ON/OFF
Push the ON/OFF button once to turn the scale on
(repeat the procedure in order to turn the scale off).
While in the gram mode, the bright blue backlit display
will then show 0.0g after it stabilizes which takes
approximately 2 seconds.
2. TARE
When using the weighing tray or other type of
scoop or container, simply place the tray, etc. on the
weighing platform and then push the TARE (zero)
button once to automatically subtract the weight of

GEMORO PLATINUM MP601 / ITEM #9772 4
whatever was on the platform while maintaining the
weight in its memory. The display will then show 0.0g.
If you then take the tray off the weighing platform, from
its memory the display will show a negative weight
equal to the weight of the tray or whatever was on the
platform. After placing the tray back on the weighing
platform, you may then place the item that you wish to
weigh directly into the tray and weigh it independently.
When you no longer wish to use the tray, you may
press the TARE button once again to bring the display
back to 0.0g or press the ON/OFF button once to turn
the scale off since both of these steps will subtract the
weight from its memory.
3. UNITS
To change the scales unit of measure, simply push the
UNITS button to change from g, dwt, ozt or oz.
4. LIGHT
Push the LIGHT button to turn off the backlight in
order to conserve battery life. Press the button again
to turn the backlight back on.

5. PCS
This feature allows the user to count an unknown
number of pieces of the same item quickly by using the
scales counting function. Turn the scale on by pressing
the ON/OFF button and wait until the display reads 0.0.
(Note: It is recommended that you detach the scales
platform cover and use it as a tray by placing it on the
weighing platform before turning the scale on.) Place
a sample of either 25, 50, 75 or 100pcs of the same
item you wish to count on the weighing platform or
in the tray to use as your sample and press and hold
down the PCS button for 2 seconds. (Note: The larger
the sample size the more accurate the count will be.)
The display will then show a random number like 100.
Press the UNITS button repeatedly until the number
on the display equals the number of pieces you placed
on the weighing platform to use as your sample. Then
press the PCS button again to confirm the sample
size and enter it into its memory. The display will then
show “pcs” in the corner to confirm that the scale is in
the counting mode. Then remove the sample quantity
on the weighing platform and you can then place
any amount of that item on the weighing platform

item counted. You may conveniently switch from the
counting mode to the weighing mode by pressing the
PCS or UNITS button.

DIGITAL POCKET SCALE CALIBRATION
PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to recalibrate this
scale without first having a 500g calibration weight
in your possession. This weight is available as an
optional accessory from your scale supplier. For your
information, a quantity of 20 US nickles equals 100g,
so therefore 100 nickels may be used as your 500g
calibration weight.
1. If the factory’s preset calibration requires adjusting
as indicated by the accuracy of the scale being
off by more than +/- 0.1g, place the scale on a
stable, flat surface which is free from vibrations
and excessive air currents and then turn it on by
pressing the ON/OFF button. Wait until the display
shows 0.0.
2. Press and hold the UNITS button for 3 seconds

7MANUAL & OPERATION GUIDE
until the display shows CAL.
3. Then press the UNITS button again and the display
will then show 500g which is the weight required to
calibrate the scale.
4. Place a 500g calibration weight in the center of the
scales weighing platform until the display shows
PASS. Remove the calibration weight from the
weighing platform and then press the ON/OFF
