1. SAFETY
DANGERtoavoidpossibleelectricshock,special careshouldbetakenwhen
handlinga wetaquarium.Foreachof thefollowingsituationsdonotattempt repairs
yourself,return theitemtoanauthorizedGIESEMANN servicepointfor serviceor
repair.
a) donotuse anyappliance ifithas adamaged power-cord orplug,if itisinmalfunction
orif ithasdropped ordamaged inanymanner.
b) Toavoidthepossibilityoftheapplianceplugorreceptaclegettingwet,positionthe
aquariumstandand tanktooneside of awall mounted receptacletopreventwater
fromdripping ontothereceptacle orplug.Youshouldcreateadripping loopforeach
cordconnectinganaquarium item.Thedrippingloopisthatpartof thecordbelowthe
levelofthe itemortheconnector.
Ifthe plug,anextensionbarorthe technicalitem itself doesgoeswet,DONOT
unplugthecord.Disconnectthe fuse orcircuitbreakerthatsuppliespowertothe
outlet.Thenunplug thedeviceandexamineforpresence of waterinthe receptacle

2. UNPACKINGTHEAQUARIUM
We haveproducedyourGIESEMANNaquarium withthe utmostcareusingmostadvanced
productiontechniques.Extrastrong packaginghasbeenused topreventdamage tothe
aquarium.Please notehowever,thatyouraquariumhasbeentransportedand handled several
timespriortoreachingitsfinaldestination.We recommend therefore,thatyoutestthe
aquarium forleaksinasuitablearea,byfillingitwithwaterandchecking itverycarefully.

3. SETTINGUPTHEAQUARIUM
Havingmadeyourchecks,you shouldselectthemostsuitableanddesirable positionforyour
aquarium.Theposition selected shouldhaveanevenand levelsurface and shouldbeable to
supporttheweightofthe filled aquarium.Inordertopreventexcessivealgaegrowth, we
recommend thatyou selectapositionthatisnotexposed todirectdaylight.

Inordertosetupyouraquariumand toprepareitforitsintendeduse,pleasefollowthe
followingguidelines.
1.Place the cabinetinitschosenlocation (leaveagapbetweencabinetandwalltoallowa
goodaircirculation)
2.Puttheaquarium ontothe cabinet
3.Thecompletesystem mustbe positioned onalevelsurface
4.Ensure thatthelocationisable tosupporttheweightofthefilledaquarium
5.Ouraquariumsare builtwithaspecialbottomframe forsecurity.Theaquarium
should beplaceddirectlyontothecabinet.DONOTplaceanyadditional
support,e.g.polystyrene,undertheaquarium since thisisnotnecessarywith
ouraquariums.
6.Adjustthedoorhingesof the aquarium.Oncetheyare adjusted,wipe these witha
fewdropsoiltopreventcorrosionfrom saltyair
7.Remove carefullytheprotectionfilm fromall partsofthecabinet
4. INSTALLATIONOFTHETECHNICALPARTS
BEFOREinstalling the technical,we recommend,thatyoutesttheaquariumforleaksina
suitable area,byfillingitwithtap-waterandcheckingitverycarefully.Ifeverything isfine,
siphonthewaterfrom thetanktoemptyit.
1.Tightenthe bulkheadsand all PVCparts
2.Checkallhosesandpipes
3.Install thetechnicalcomponentsaccording tothemanualofthese products
5. MAINTANANCE
1.Cleanyourcabinetrightawayonceitbecomeswetordirty–atleastonceaweek
2.Cleanthecabinetweeklyfrom the inside,avoid highhumidityinsidethecabinet
byusing afan. Avoidanykind ofsplash-waterorsaltcreep
3.Cleanthehingesofyourcabinetregularlywithanoilyclothtoavoidcorrosion.
Adjustthe hingesifnecessaryfrom timetotime
4.Checkall technicalitemsregularlyandcheckifnopartatyourtankisleaking

Guarantee
We guarantee the performanceof the GIESEMANN-aquariumproductorits
accessoriestothe purchaser for aperiodof12months from thedate ofpurchase
accordingtothe followingconditions:
§1Extentoftheguarantee
(1)Thisguaranteeextendstothe GIESEMANNaquariumproductandits components
excludingitems subjecttowear andtear suchaslighttubes andaccessories.Itis
limitedtotheproductas suchanddoesnotcover damage tootherpropertyand/or
individuals.Inaddition, theprovisionsofthe productliabilitylawapply.These
provisionsare notlimitedbytheaforementionedarrangement.
(2)ItistheprerogativeofGIESEMANN-aquariumtodecidewhethertheguaranteeis
performedbymeans of repair orreplacement.
§2Guarantee periodandsettlementprocedure
(1)Theguaranteeperiodbeginsonthe dayof thepurchase of theproductfrom the
retailer.Claimsunderthis guarantee will notbe honored,if
(a)the damage is causedas aresultof improperuse ormaintenanceornon-
observanceofthe instructionsgiveninthis manual
(b)the productorits components havebeenmaintainedbypersonsor companies
notauthorizedbythe manufacturer todoso
(c)theproductor its components have beendamagedbymechanicalmeans of
whatsoeverkind,inparticular brokenglassordamagescausedbywater
(2)Allclaimsunderthisguaranteehave tobe notifiedtothe retailer,from whom the
aquariumhas beenpurchasedwithoutdelay,however,notlonger than2weeks from
the dayoffirstoccurrence ofdefects.Rights underthe consumer protectionlawswill
remainunaffected.
(3)Guarantee claims willonlybe acceptedif thevalidity of theclaimis supportedby
evidenceofpurchase oftheGIESEMANN-aquariumproduct.
