1 Safety instructions
Electrical devices may only be mounted and connected by electrically skilled persons.
Serious injuries, fire or property damage possible. Please read and follow manual fully.
Danger of electric shock. Always disconnect before carrying out work on the device or load. In
so doing, take all the circuit breakers into account, which support dangerous voltages to the
device and or load.
Danger of electric shock. The device is not suitable for disconnection from supply voltage. De-
pending on the insert used, the load is not electrically isolated from the mains, even when the
device is switched off.
These instructions are an integral part of the product, and must remain with the end customer.

3 Intended use
Intended use
– Operation of lighting, Venetian blinds, shutters or awnings
– Operation switching, dimming or Venetian blind insert or 3-wire extension of System 3000
– Wall installation on system 3000 insert
4 Product characteristics

– The control is operated by lightly touching or swiping on the operating surface.
– Activation of blind/shutters, with Venetian blind insert
– Ventilation position of the blind/shutter can be saved, with Venetian blind insert

– Switching and dimming of lighting with insert for switching or dimming
– Three brightness values can be saved with insert for dimming

5 Operation of Venetian blinds and shutters
Moving the blind/shutter
￭ Touch surfaces (1) or (3) for longer than 1 second.
The blind/shutter moves in the desired direction to the end position.
￭ Touch surface (2) for longer than 1 second.
Blind/shutter moves to the saved ventilation position and also with Venetian blinds sets
the saved slat position.
Stopping the blind/shutter
￭ Touch surfaces (1), (2), or (3) for less than 1 second.
Saving blind/shutter running time
To perform positioning movements, the blind/shutter running time has to be saved beforehand.
Precondition: Move the Venetian blind to the upper end position, all LEDs of the status indica-
tion must then be off.
￭ From the upper end position touch surface (3) for longer than 1 second.

The blind/shutter moves in the lower end position direction.
￭ Touch and hold surfaces (1) and (3) simultaneously.
The status indication (5) flashes once and then lights.
The blind/shutter stops and continues to move again after 4 seconds.
￭ As soon as the blind/shutter has reached the lower end position, release the surfaces and
touch surface (3) within the next 4 seconds.
The status indication (5) flashes once.
The running time is saved. The blind/shutter moves back to the upper end position.
Blind/shutter position movements
The blind/shutter position can be set in two different ways with surface (4):
￭ Swipe slowly over surface (4) and release at the desired position. The touch must be
longer than 1 second from the start of the touch to the release.
The status indication (5) follows the touch. Blind/shutter moves to the selected position
after the release.
￭ Touch surface (4) at the desired position for longer than 1 second.
Blind/shutter moves to the selected position after the release.
Adjusting the slats
￭ Touch surfaces (1) or (3) for less than 1 second.
Saving the slat change-over time
￭ From the upper end position touch surface (3) for longer than 1 second.
The blind/shutter moves in the lower end position direction.
￭ Touch and hold surfaces (1) and (3) simultaneously.
The status indication (5) flashes once and then lights.
The blind/shutter stops and continues to move again after 4 seconds.
￭ As soon as the blind/shutter moves again, release the surfaces in any position and touch
and hold surface (1) within the next 4 seconds.
Slats open.
￭ As soon as the slats are fully changed over, release surface (1).
The status indication (5) flashes once.
The slat change-over time is saved. The blind/shutter moves back to the upper end posi-
tion.
Saving the ventilation position
With a Venetian blind the blind/shutter position and the slat position are saved.
￭ Move blind/shutter to the desired position and with a Venetian blind also set the slat posi-
tion.
￭ Touch and hold surface (2) for longer than 4 seconds.
The status indication (5) flashes once.
The blind/shutter initially moves in the direction of the old ventilation position. After
4 seconds the blind/shutter stops, moves to the new ventilation position and saves it.
￭ Release surface (4).
If the ventilation position is saved again, the old position is overwritten.
Activating / deactivating the disabling function
The disabling function disables extension operation in the "AB" direction. The local operation on
the top unit continues to be possible.

The extension operation in the "UP" direction (wind alarm) continues to be possible.
￭ Touch surface (1) for longer than 4 seconds.
The status indication (5) flashes and the blind/shutter moves to the upper end position.
The status indication (5) flashes at the top for as long as the disabling function is active.
To deactivate the disabling function, touch surface (1) again for longer than 4 seconds.
Central control of blinds/shutters
For central operation the touch top unit can be placed on a Venetian blind insert that is connec-
ted to the extension terminals of one or multiple Venetian blind inserts.
Consider the following information:
– The ventilation positions of the individual blinds/shutters deviate from each other as these
depend on the running times of the individual blinds/shutters.
– The status indication of the central control can deviate from the actual blind/shutter posi-
tions.
6 Operation of lighting
The DALI-Power control unit flush-mounted insert behaves like a dimming insert. The col-
our temperature cannot be set at a DALI-Power control unit with a touch top unit.
Switching the light
￭ Briefly touch several of the surfaces (1) to (4) simultaneously with the flat of your hand.
The light is switched on or off.
With dimming insert the light is switched on to brightness value 1.
Adjusting the brightness
The brightness can be set in different ways:
￭ Briefly touch surface (1), (2) or (3).
Light switches to the corresponding saved brightness values.
￭ Swipe slowly over surface (4) and release at the desired brightness.
The status indication (5) follows the touch. Light is set to the selected brightness.
￭ Briefly touch surface (4) at the desired brightness.
Light is set to the selected brightness.
Saving the brightness values
A brightness value can be saved for each of the surfaces (1), (2) and (3). In the delivery state,
the values 25%, 50% and 75% are already stored. With every save the respective existing value
is overwritten.
Only surface (3) can also be used to switch off. For this, save the brightness value "Off".
￭ Adjust the brightness.
￭ Touch the desired surface for longer than 4 seconds.
Brightness value is saved. For confirmation, the light and the status indication (5) are
switched off briefly and switched on again.
When saving "Off" the light and status indication (5) are switched off briefly and switched
on again.
Operation with 3-wire extension with touch top unit
Precondition: A 3-wire extension with touch top unit is connected to the main device. The func-
tion of the extension varies from the function of the main device in the following points:
– If the light is switched by briefly touching several of the surfaces (1) to (4) simultaneously,
the extension alternately sends the command "switch on" and "switch off" to the main
device. It may therefore occur, that it must be operated twice for the desired switching
state.

– The status indication lights only during operation.
– No brightness values can be saved.
Operation with 2-wire or 3-wire extension with push-button cover
Precondition: A 2-wire or 3-wire extension with push-button cover is connected to the main
device.
Switching the light
￭ Press the button cover briefly: Light switches on or off.
With dimming insert the light is switched on to brightness value 1.
3-wire extension: Press top to switch on, press bottom to switch off.
Switch light on with minimum brightness
￭ Long press on the push-button cover at the bottom: Light switches on to minimum bright-
ness.
￭ Long press on the push-button cover at the top: Light switches on to minimum brightness
and gets brighter.
Adjusting the brightness
￭ Long press on the push-button cover at the top: Light gets brighter up to maximum bright-
ness.
￭ Long press on the push-button cover at the bottom: Light gets darker to minimum bright-
ness.
Saving the brightness value
￭ Adjust the brightness.
￭ Press the button cover over entire surface for longer than 4 seconds.
The brightness value is saved as brightness value 1. For confirmation, the light is
switched off briefly and switched on again.
Operation with push-button as extension
Precondition: A push-button is connected to the main device.
Switching the light
￭ Press the push-button briefly: Light switches on or off.
With dimming insert the light is switched on to brightness value 1.
Switch light on with minimum brightness
￭ Long press on the push-button: Light switches on to minimum brightness and gets
brighter.
Adjusting the brightness
￭ Long press on the push-button: Light gets brighter or darker.
The dimming direction is changed with each new long actuation.
Saving of a brightness value not possible.
7 Functions
Night mode
In night mode, the status indication is not permanently lit, but goes out 5 seconds after the last
touch.
￭ Operation on a light insert: Briefly touch surface (4) at the top.
Light switches on to maximum brightness.
￭ Operation on a Venetian blind insert: Touch surface (4) at the top for longer than
1 second.

Venetian blind moves in the upper end position direction.
￭ Touch surface (4) at the top within 4 seconds for longer than 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds the status indication (5) flashes once at the bottom or the top depending
on the setting.
Night mode is activated: The status indication (5) lights at the bottom.
Night mode is deactivated: The status indication (5) lights at the top.
￭ Touch surface (1) for permanent display. Status indication (5) lights at the top.
Touch surface (3) for night mode. Status indication (5) lights at the bottom.
￭ Touch surface (4) at the top for longer than 1 second to confirm the selection.
Night mode is activated: The status indication (5) flashes once at the bottom.
Night mode is deactivated: The status indication (5) flashes once at the top.
The current status is shown after the confirmation.
If there is no actuation for 4 seconds during the setting of the night mode, the setting is
cancelled and the old setting is retained.
With switch inserts, the load state changes with some actions.
Reset to default setting
￭ Switch off the mains voltage and switch on again.
￭ Within the next 2 minutes simultaneously touch surfaces (1) and (3) for longer than
20 seconds.
After 20 seconds all LEDs of the status indication (5) light and are switched off again
within 10 seconds from top to bottom.
￭ During this time, release surfaces (1) and (3) and briefly touch them again simultaneously.
All LEDs of the status indication (5) flash for 5 seconds.
The attachment is reset to the default setting.
Venetian blind position is not changed.
Light is switched off.
With switch inserts, the switching state changes with some actions.
In order to cancel the process, do not touch any surfaces whilst the LEDs of the status in-
dication are switched off in succession.
Factory setting of Venetian blind
Travelling time 2 minutes
Ventilation position 100%, blind/shutter completely closed

8 Information for electrically skilled persons
DANGER!
Mortal danger of electric shock.
Disconnect the device. Cover up live parts.
Fitting the device
￭ Switching, dimming or Venetian blind insert or 3-wire extension are mounted and connec-
ted properly (see instructions of the relevant inserts).
￭ Fit the cover with frame on the insert.
￭ Switch on mains voltage.
If the status indication flashes repeatedly in the middle three times, the top unit was previously
connected to an insert of another unit. In order to enable operation again either attach the top
unit to the correct insert or simultaneously press surfaces (1) and (3) for longer than 4 seconds.
The top unit then has the factory settings.
8.1 Commissioning
Venetian blinds and shutters
So that a blind/shutter position can be approached correctly, the running time and also with
Venetian blinds the slat adjusting time must be saved. This happens on the main device, see
chapter Operation of Venetian blinds and shutters
A fan position is also saved on the main device. This can be saved again at any time and does
not have to happen during commissioning.
Lighting
No commissioning is necessary on the touch top unit. New brightness values for the buttons (1)
to (3) can be saved to the main device at any time, see chapter Operation of lighting.

The warranty is provided in accordance with statutory requirements via the specialist trade.
Please submit or send faulty devices postage paid together with an error description to your re-
sponsible salesperson (specialist trade/installation company/electrical specialist trade). They will
forward the devices to the Gira Service Center.
