Specification
The sound intensity level for the operator may exceed 85dB(A) and sound protection
measures are necessary. As part of our ongoing product development, specifications

WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the
time of exposure if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection,
stop using the tool immediately and check the ear protection is correctly fitted and provides
the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness,
tingling and reduced ability to grip. Long term exposure can lead to a chronic condition. If

General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by
a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or
a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the
power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power
tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Sander Polisher Safety
a) This power tool is intended to function as a sander or polishing tool. Read all
safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with the
power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury.
b) Operations such as grinding, wire brush or cutting off are not recommended to be
performed with this power tool. Operations for which the power tool was not designed
may create a hazard and cause personal injury.
c) Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by
the tool manufacturer. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool it
does not assure safe operation.
d) The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum speed
marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated speed can break
and fly apart.
e) The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the
capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately
guarded or controlled.
f) The arbour size of wheels, flanges, backing pads or any other accessory must
properly fit on the spindle of your power tool. Accessories with arbour holes that
do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate
excessively and may cause loss of control.
g) Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the accessory such
as abrasive wheels for chips and cracks, backing pad for cracks, tear or excess
wear, wire brush, wire, wire brush for loose or cracked wires. If power tool or
accessory is dropped, inspect for damage or install an undamaged accessory.
After inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and bystanders
away from the plane of the rotating accessory and run the power tool at maximum
no-load speed for one minute. Damaged accessories will normally break apart during
this test time.
h) Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use faceshield,
safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing
protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or

workpiece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of stopping flying debris
generated by various operations. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of
filtrating particles generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity
noise may cause hearing loss.
i) Keep bystanders a safe distance away from the work area. Anyone entering the
work area must wear personal protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece or of a
broken accessory may fly away and cause injury beyond immediate area of operation.
j) Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control, the cord may be
cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory.
k) Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a complete stop.
The spinning accessory may grab the surface and pull the power tool out of your control.
l) Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental contact with the
spinning accessory may snag your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body.
m) Regularly clean the power tool’s vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the
housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.
n) Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite
these materials.
o) Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid
coolants may result in electrocution or shock.
Kickback and Related Warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush
or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory
which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of
the accessory’s rotation at the point of the binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the
wheel that is entering into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the material causing
the wheel to climb out or kick out. The wheel may either jump toward or away from the
operator, depending on direction of the wheel’s movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive
wheels may also break under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or
conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.
a) Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body an arm to allow you
to resist kickback forces. Always use auxiliary handle, if provided, for maximum
control over kickback or torque reaction during start up. The operator can control
torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper precautions are taken.
b) Never place your hand near the rotating accessory. Accessory may kickback over
your hand.
c) Do not position your body in the area where power tool will move if kickback
occurs. Kickback will propel the tool in the direction opposite to the wheel’s movement
at the point of snagging.
d) Use special care when working corners, sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and
snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the
rotating accessory and cause loss of control or kickback.
e) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such blades
create frequent kickback and loss of control.
Safety Warnings Specific for Sanding Operations
a) Do not use excessively oversized sanding disc paper. Follow manufacturer’s
recommendations, when selecting sanding paper. Larger sanding paper extending
beyond the sanding pad presents a laceration hazard and may cause snagging, tearing of
the disc or kickback.
Safety Warnings Specific for Polishing Operations
a) Do not allow any loose portion of the polishing bonnet or its attachment strings
to spin freely. Tuck away or trim any loose attachment strings. Loose and spinning
attachment strings can entangle your fingers or snag on the workpiece.

Intended Use
Multi-purpose rotary polishing machine, suitable for light to medium duty polishing and
sanding tasks.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features
and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing
or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or
changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.
WARNING: ONLY fit accessories with a max speed rating higher than the max no load speed
of this machine (see ‘Specification’).
Installing the Auxiliary Handle
WARNING: Ensure that either the Auxiliary Handle (9) or the D-Handle is installed before
use. Do not attempt to operate this tool without a secondary handle in place.
1. Install the Auxiliary Handle by screwing it clockwise into one of the two mounting points
in the Gear Housing (tighten by hand)
Note: The Auxiliary Handle can be mounted on the left or right side of the Gear Housing.
2. Unscrew anti-clockwise to remove the Auxiliary Handle
Installing the D-Handle
1. Remove the Auxiliary Handle (9) if installed
2. Align the mounting holes in the D-Handle with both mounting points on the Gear Housing
(5), ensuring the handle is above
3. Secure the D-Handle in place using the two Hex Bolts and Washers, then tighten using
the supplied Hex Key

Fitting the Hook & Loop Backing Pad
• The Hook & Loop Backing Pad (2) must be securely fitted to the Spindle (3) before use:
1. Press and hold the Spindle Lock Button (4) with one hand, and slowly rotate the Spindle
with the other hand, until it locks
2. The Hook & Loop Backing Pad can now be screwed onto the Spindle and tightened
WARNING: The Hook & Loop Backing Pad is tightened by hand.Take care not to cross-
thread or over-tighten.
3. Release the Spindle Lock Button
Fitting bonnets, polishing sponges and discs
• The Polishing Bonnet (1) must be securely fastened to the Hook & Loop Backing Pad (2)
• Other polishing accessories with M14 thread, such as polishing sponges (not included)
may be mounted directly on to the Spindle (3)
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as
well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
Switching on and off
WARNING: Never switch the tool on or off when it is in contact with the workpiece. This can
cause serious injury to the operator and will significantly shorten the service life of the On/
Off Switch (10).
1. Connect the machine to the power supply
2. Hold the tool securely with both hands: one hand on the Rear Handle (7), the other hand
on the Auxiliary Handle (9) (or D-Handle, if installed)
3. Slide the On/Off Switch (10) to the left position, to start the machine
4. Allow the tool to reach the speed required before bringing the machine into contact with
the workpiece
5. Remove the polisher from the workpiece before switching off
6. To stop the machine, slide the On/Off Switch into the right position
WARNING: ALWAYS wait until the machine has come to a standstill before putting it down.
Adjusting tool speed
WARNING: Always set the control panel to the correct speed for the task at hand.
The speed setting of the machine is shown on the Speed Display (11) and controlled using
the Control Panel (6):
1. Press the Speed Up Button (12) to increase speed
2. Press the Speed Down Button (13) to decrease speed
Polishing tips
• Ensure that the area to be polished is clean and dry
• Choose only polishing compounds that are compatible with the material to be polished,
and with the method of application. Read and understand all information supplied with
your polishing compound before use
• If using polishing sponges, apply polishing compound evenly to the polishing sponge and
place the sponge against the work surface
• Hold the machine securely, using both hands, by the handles provided. The polishing
sponge should make only light contact with the work surface
• Switch on the machine, and work across the surface using a wide 'sweeping' motion.
Stop and apply extra compound as required
• When the entire surface has been covered, stop the machine and allow the compound to
dry (follow manufacturer’s guidance)
• Attach a clean polishing bonnet to the machine and work across the surface as before,
until all visible polishing compound is removed
Sanding tips
WARNING: This machine is primarily designed as a polishing tool. It is suitable for light
duty sanding tasks, such as fine sanding as a preparation to polishing, but it has not been
designed to remove large amounts of material. Use a different type of sander, such as a belt
sander, should this be required.
WARNING: NEVER use this machine for wet sanding.
WARNING: ALWAYS use adequate respiratory protection when sanding.
• Allow the machine to reach the required speed before bringing the sanding paper into
contact with the workpiece
• Start with a coarse grit paper, and work through progressively finer grit papers until the
desired finish is achieved
• Apply only moderate pressure to the sander. Pressing too hard on to the work surface
may overheat the motor or damage the work surface
• Sand evenly over the work surface. The machine works in a rotary motion so it is not
necessary to work with the grain
• Only use the sander 'flat on' to the work.Tilting the sander onto its edge will damage
the workpiece

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised Silverline service centre. This advice also applies to
extension cords used with this tool
Cleaning
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when
cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly,
and shorten the device’s service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a mild
detergent on a damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
(where applicable)

Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure,
or visible sparking
• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised GMC
service centre
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE),
with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose
of power tools
• Dispose of polishing compounds and used polishing sponges/bonnets according to the

Specificaties
De geluidsintensiteit voor de bediener kan 85 dB(A) overschrijden en de
gehoorbescherming is noodzakelijk. Met het oog op onze aanhoudende
productontwikkeling kunnen de specificaties van GMC producten zonder
voorafgaande kennisgeving worden gewijzigd.
WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van
gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij oncomfortabel
hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik
van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het geluiddempingsniveau van
de bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid, tinteling
en een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische
condities. Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft
een grotere invloed op handen met een temperatuur lager dan een normale, comfortabele
temperatuur. Maak gebruik van de informatie in de specificaties voor het bereken van de
gebruiksduur en frequentie van de machine.
Geluid- en trillingsniveaus in de specificatie zijn vastgesteld volgens EN60745 of een
gelijksoortige internationale norm. De waarden gelden voor een normaal gebruik in normale

Algemene veiligheid voor
elektrisch gereedschap
WAARSCHUWING: Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet
opvolgen van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een
elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een
verminderde mentale of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon
wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Kinderen dienen niet met het gereedschap te spelen
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft
betrekking op uw elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een
snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en
donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld
in de aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact.
Pas de stekker niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch
gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers en passende stopcontacten
vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren,
fornuizen en koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam
geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat
wordt, neemt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap
te dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het
snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd
of in de knoop geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een
verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer
dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok
te verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een
vochtige omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een aardlek beveiliging
(Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico op een
elektrische schok.
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of
onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen
van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril.
Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende
veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op
persoonlijk letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de
schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt.
Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten
op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap
inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over
het elektrische gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren,
kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding,
sieraden en los hangende haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit
deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen
kan het risico op stof gerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt
is voor het werk dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en
veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar het apparaat niet in-
en uitschakelt. Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de schakelaar
is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren
verwisselt of het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen
en laat mensen die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze
instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is
gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het
vastslaan van bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien
het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren voordat
u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden
elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met
scherpe messen slaan minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren en onderdelen, etc. volgens
deze instructies en volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te
voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die verschillen
van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Australië of Nieuw-Zeeland gebruikt wordt, met
een lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman
en gebruik alleen identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid
van het elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.
Schuur- en polijstmachine veiligheid
a) De machine is bestemd voor gebruik als schuur- en polijstmachine. Neem alle
waarschuwingen, aanwijzingen, afbeeldingen en gegevens die u bij de machine
ontvangt in acht. Als u de volgende aanwijzingen niet in acht neemt, kunnen een
elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel het gevolg zijn.

b) De machine is niet geschikt voor slijpen, zagen en schuren met draadborstels.
Toepassingen waarvoor de machine niet is voorzien, kunnen gevaren en
verwondingen veroorzaken.
c) Gebruik uitsluitend accessoires dat door de fabrikant speciaal voor de machine
is voorzien en geadviseerd. Het feit dat u het accessoires aan de machine kunt
bevestigen, waarborgt nog geen veilig gebruik.
d) Het toegestane toerental van het inzetgereedschap moet minstens even hoog zijn
als het maximale toerental dat op de machine vermeld staat. Accessoires dat sneller
draait dan toegestaan, kan breken en wegvliegen.
e) De buitendiameter en de dikte van het inzetgereedschap moeten overeenkomen
met de maatgegevens van de machine. Accessoires met onjuiste afmetingen kunnen
niet voldoende afgeschermd of gecontroleerd worden.
f) Accessoires met schroefdraadinzetstuk moeten nauwkeurig op de schroefdraad
van de uitgaande as passen. De gatdiameter van met een flens gemonteerde
accessoires moet passen bij de opnamediameter van de flens. Accessoires die niet
nauwkeurig op de machine bevestigd worden, draaien ongelijkmatig, trillen sterk en
kunnen tot verlies van de controle leiden
g) Gebruik geen beschadigde accessoires. Controleer voor het gebruik altijd
accessoires zoals slijpschijven op afsplinteringen en scheuren, steunschijven op
scheuren of sterke slijtage en draadborstels op losse of gebroken draden. Als de
machine of het inzetgereedschap valt, dient u te controleren of het beschadigd is,
of gebruik een onbeschadigd inzetgereedschap. Als u het inzetgereedschap hebt
gecontroleerd en ingezet, laat u de machine een minuut lang met het maximale
toerental lopen. Daarbij dient u en dienen andere personen uit de buurt van het
ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap te blijven. Beschadigde accessoires breken meestal
gedurende deze testtijd
h) Draag persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting. Gebruik afhankelijk van de
toepassing een volledige gezichtsbescherming, oogbescherming of veiligheidsbril.
Draag voor zover van toepassing een stofmasker, een gehoorbescherming,
werkhandschoenen of een special schort dat kleine slijp- en materiaaldeeltjes
tegenhoudt. Uw ogen moeten worden beschermd tegen wegvliegende deeltjes die bij
verschillende toepassingen ontstaan. Een stof- of adembeschermingsmasker moet het bij
de toepassing ontstaande stof filteren. Als u lang wordt blootgesteld aan luid lawaai, kan
uw gehoor worden beschadigd
i) Let erop dat andere personen zich op een veilige afstand bevinden van de plaats
waar u werkt. Iedereen die de werkomgeving betreedt, moet persoonlijke
beschermende uitrusting dragen. Brokstukken van het werkstuk of gebroken
accessoires kunnen wegvliegen en verwondingen veroorzaken, ook buiten de
directe werkomgeving.
j) Houd het gereedschap alleen aan de geïsoleerde greepvlakken vast als u
werkzaamheden uitvoert waarbij het inzetgereedschap verborgen stroomleidingen
of de eigen stroomkabel kan raken. Contact met een onder spanning staande leiding
kan ook metalen delen van het gereedschap onder spanning zetten en tot een elektrische
schok leiden.
k) Houd de stroomkabel uit de buurt van draaiende accessoires. Als u de controle over
de machine verliest, kan de stroomkabel worden doorgesneden of meegenomen en uw
hand of arm kan in het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap terechtkomen.
l) Leg de machine nooit neer voordat het inzetgereedschap volledig tot stilstand is
gekomen. Het draaiende inzetgereedschap kan in contact komen met het oppervlak,
waardoor u de controle over de machine kunt verliezen
m) Reinig regelmatig de ventilatieopeningen van de machine. De motorventilator
trekt stof in het huis en een sterke ophoping van metaalstof kan elektrische
gevaren veroorzaken
n) Gebruik de machine niet in de buurt van brandbare materialen. Vonken kunnen deze
materialen ontsteken
o) Gebruik geen accessoires waarvoor vloeibare koelmiddelen vereist zijn. Het gebruik
van water of andere vloeibare koelmiddelen kan tot een elektrische schok leiden
Terugslag en bijbehorende waarschuwingen
Terugslag is de plotselinge reactie als gevolg van een vasthakend of geblokkeerd draaiend
inzetgereedschap, zoals een slijpschijf, steunschijf, draadborstel, enz. Vasthaken of
blokkeren leidt tot abrupte stilstand van het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap. Daardoor
wordt een ongecontroleerd elektrisch gereedschap tegen de draairichting van het
inzetgereedschap versneld op de plaats van de blokkering. Als bijvoorbeeld een slijpschijf
in het werkstuk vasthaakt of blokkeert, kan de rand van de slijpschijf die in het werkstuk
invalt, zich vastgrijpen. Daardoor kan de slijpschijf uitbreken of een terugslag veroorzaken.
De slijpschijf beweegt zich vervolgens naar de bediener toe of van de bediener weg,
afhankelijk van de draairichting van de schijf op de plaats van de blokkering. Hierbij kunnen
slijpschijven ook breken. Een terugslag is het gevolg van het verkeerd gebruik of onjuiste
gebruiksomstandigheden van de machine. Terugslag kan worden voorkomen door geschikte
voorzorgsmaatregelen, zoals hieronder beschreven
a) Houd de machine goed vast en breng uw lichaam en uw armen in een
positie waarin u de terugslagkrachten kunt opvangen. Gebruik altijd de extra
handgreep, indien aanwezig, om de grootst mogelijke controle te hebben over
terugslagkrachten of reactiemomenten bij het op toeren komen. De bediener kan
door geschikte voorzorgsmaatregelen de terugslag- en reactiekrachten beheersen
b) Breng uw hand nooit in de buurt van draaiende accessoires. Het inzetgereedschap
kan bij de terugslag over uw hand bewegen
c) Mijd met uw lichaam het gebied waarheen de machine bij een terugslag wordt
bewogen. De terugslag drijft de machine in de richting die tegengesteld is aan de
beweging van de slijpschijf op de plaats van de blokkering
d) Werk bijzonder voorzichtig in de buurt van hoeken, scherpe randen, enz.
Voorkom dat accessoires van het werkstuk terugspringen en vastklemmen.
Het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap neigt er bij hoeken, scherpe randen of wanneer
het terugspringt toe om zich vast te klemmen. Dit veroorzaakt een controleverlies
of terugslag
e) Gebruik geen kettingblad of getand zaagblad. Zulke accessoires veroorzaken vaak
een terugslag of het verlies van de controle over de machine
Bijzondere waarschuwingen voor schuurwerkzaamheden
a) Gebruik geen schuurbladen met te grote afmetingen, maar houd u aan de
voorschriften van de fabrikant voor de maten van schuurbladen. Schuurbladen
die over de rand van de steunschijf uitsteken, kunnen verwondingen veroorzaken en
kunnen tot blokkeren, scheuren van de schuurbladen of terugslag leiden
Bijzondere waarschuwingen voor polijstwerkzaamheden
a) Losse deeltjes van het polijstaccessoire mogen niet vrij ronddraaien. Losse
deeltjes dienen afgeknipt/afgesneden te worden. Draaiende losse deeltjes kunnen
rond uw vingers of werkstuk wikkelen wat kan resulteren in persoonlijk letsel

WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u accessoires
bevestigd/afneemt
WAARSCHUWING: Bevestig enkel accessoires met een maximale snelheid, hoger dan de
maximale onbelaste snelheid van de machine (zie: ‘Specificaties’)
Het bevestigen van het hulphandvat
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg ervoor dat het hulphandvat (9) of D-handvat voor gebruik bevestigd
is. Gebruik de machine niet zonder het gebruik van één van de twee handvaten
1. Schroef het hulphandvat met de hand rechtsom in één van de montagepunten van de
versnellingsbehuizing vast
Let op: Het hulphandvat kan aan de linker en rechter zijde van de behuizing
gemonteerd worden
2. Schroef het handvat linksom los
Het bevestigen van het D-handvat
1. Verwijder het hulphandvat (9) wanneer gemonteerd
2. Lijn de montagegaten in het D-handvat uit met de montagepunten op de
versnellingsbehuizing (5), met het handvat omhoog
3. Vergrendel het handvat in plaats met gebruik van de twee inbusbouten, sluitringen
en inbussleutel
Het bevestigen van de klittenband steunschijf
• De steunschijf (2) dient stevig op de as (3) bevestigd te worden:
1. Houdt de as-vergrendelknop (4) met de ene hand ingedrukt en draai de as met de andere
hand rond tot de vergrendeling ingrijpt
2. De steunschijf kan nu op de as vastgedraaid worden
WAARSCHUWING: De steunschijf dient met de hand vast gedraaid worden. Draai de
steunschijf niet te strak vast
3. Laat de as-vergrendelknop los
Het bevestigen van polijstkussens en schijven
• Het polijstkussen (1) dient stevig op de klittenband steunschijf (2) gemonteerd te worden
• Andere polijstaccessoires met M14 draad, als polijstsponzen (niet inbegrepen) zijn direct
op de as (3) te monteren
Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: De geschikte beschermende uitrusting, waaronder oog-, hand- en
gehoorbescherming, dient te allen tijde door de gebruiker van de machine gedragen
te worden.
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
WAARSCHUWING: Schakel de machine niet in of uit wanneer deze in contact staat met het
werkstuk, waar dit mogelijk resulteert in serieus letsel en het de levensduur van de aan-/
uitschakelaar (10) aanzienlijk verslechterd
1. Sluit de machine op de stroombron aan
2. Houdt de machine stevig, met beide handen vast: één hand op het hoofdhandvat (7) en
de andere hand op het hulphandvat (9)
3. Duw de aan-/uitschakelaar (10) naar links om de machine te starten
4. Laat de machine volledig op snelheid komen voordat deze het werkstuk raakt
5. Neem de machine van het werkstuk voordat u deze uitschakelt
6. Om de machine te stoppen schuift u de schakelaar naar rechts
WAARSCHUWING: Wacht tot de machine volledig stilstaat voordat u deze neerlegt
Snelheidscontrole
WAARSCHUWING: Selecteer de geschikte snelheid voor het uit te voeren werk
• De snelheid van de machine wordt weergegeven op het display (11) en is te veranderen
met behulp van het controlepaneel (6):

Polijst tips
• Zorg ervoor dat het te polijsten oppervlak schoon en droog is
• Maak enkel gebruik van een polijstpasta, compatibel met het te polijsten materiaal. Lees
de gebruiksinformatie van de polijstpasta voor gebruik volledig door
• Verspreid de polijstpasta gelijk over de polijstspons en plaats de spons op het werkstuk
• Houdt de machine stevig, met beide handvat vast. De polijstspons hoort het werkstuk
licht te raken
• Schakel de machine in en werk het oppervlak in brede bogen af. Breng wanneer vereist
meer polijstpasta op de spons aan

• Wanneer het volledig oppervlak bedekt is, schakelt u de machine uit en laat u de
polijstpasta drogen (volg de richtlijnen van de pasta fabrikant)
• Bevestig een schoon polijstkussen werk het oppervlak als voorheen af, tot alle zichtbare
pasta verdwenen is
Schuurtips
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is voornamelijk te gebruiken voor polijstwerkzaamheden.
De machine is geschikt voor alleen lichte schuurwerkzaamheden en is niet geschikt voor
het verwijderen van grote hoeveelheden materiaal
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de machine niet voor natschuren
WAARSCHUWING: Tijdens schuurwerk is het dragen van een stofmasker aanbevolen
• Laat de machine volledig op snelheid komen voordat u het schuurpapier in contact
brengt met het werkstuk
• Begin met een grof schuurpapier, en schakel langzaamaan over naar fijner schuurpapier
voor het verkrijgen van de beste afwerking
• Oefen slechts een lichte druk op de machine uit. Wanneer u te veel druk op de machine
uitvoert raakt de motor mogelijk oververhit
• Werk het oppervlak geleidelijk af. De machine werkt in een roterende beweging dus u
hoeft niet met de nerf mee te schuren
• Gebruik de machine enkel vlak op het oppervlak. Het kantelen van de machine

Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u de machine schoonmaakt
of enig onderhoud uitvoert.
Algemene inspectie
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door vibratie
kunnen ze na enige tijd los gaan zitten
• Inspecteer het stroomsnoer voor elk gebruik op slijtage en beschadiging. Reparaties
dienen uitgevoerd worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Dit geld tevens voor
verlengsnoeren, gebruikt met de machine
Schoonmaak
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het schoonmaken van de eenheid is het dragen van de juiste
beschermende uitrusting, waaronder een veiligheidsbril en handschoenen, aanbevolen
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen sneller
slijten, wat de levensduur van de machine aanzienlijk vermindert
• Maak de behuizing van de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon
• Maak de plastic onderdelen niet met bijtende middelen schoon. Maak gebruik van een
licht schoonmaakmiddel en een vochtige doek
• De machine mag niet in contact komen met water
• Zorg ervoor dat de machine volledig droog is voordat u deze gebruikt
• Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen
Smeren
• Smeer alle bewegende onderdelen regelmatig met een geschikt smeermiddel
Borstels
• Na verloop van tijd zullen de koolborstels in de motor verslijten.
• Bij overmatige slijtage van de borstels verliest de motor mogelijk vermogen, start het niet
meer, en/ of produceert het overmatig vonken.
• Wanneer u vermoedt dat de borstels versleten zijn, laat u deze bij een erkend
servicecenter vervangen
Opberging
• Berg de machine op een droge en veilige plek, buiten het bereik van kinderen op

Bij de verwijdering van elektrische machines neemt u de nationale voorschriften in acht.
• Elektrische en elektronische apparaten en accu’s mogen niet met uw huishoudelijk afval

Attention : Toujours porter des protections sonores lorsque le niveau d’intensité est

AVERTISSEMENT : Cet appareil n’est pas conçu pour être utilisé par des personnes
(enfants compris) ayant des capacités physiques ou mentales réduites, ou n’ayant
pas la connaissance ou l’expérience requise, à moins d’être sous la supervision
d’une personne responsable de leur sécurité ou d’avoir reçu les instructions
nécessaires. Les enfants ne doivent pas s’approcher et jouer avec

1) Sécurité sur la zone de travail
a) Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones encombrées et mal
éclairées sont sources d’accidents.
b) Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements explosifs, tels
qu’à proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières inflammables. Les appareils
électriques produisent des étincelles susceptibles d’enflammer la poussière ou les
vapeurs présentes.
c) Eloigner les enfants et les passants pendant l’utilisation d’un appareil électrique.
Ceux-ci peuvent provoquer une perte d’attention et faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.
2) Sécurité électrique
a) Les prises des outils électriques doivent correspondre aux prises du secteur. Ne
modifiez jamais la prise en aucune façon. N’utilisez jamais d’adaptateur avec les
outils électriques mis à la terre. Des prises non modifiées, adaptées aux boîtiers de prise
de courant, réduiront les risques de décharge électrique.
b) Éviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles que tuyaux,
radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de décharge électrique est plus
important si votre corps est mis à la terre.
c) Ne pas exposer votre outil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité. L’infiltration d’eau
dans un outil électrique augmentera le risque de décharge électrique.
d) Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. N’utilisez jamais le cordon électrique
pour porter, tirer ou débrancher l’outil électrique. Conservez le cordon électrique
à l’écart de la chaleur, de l’essence, de bords tranchants ou de pièces en
mouvement. Un cordon électrique endommagé ou entortillé accroît le risque de
décharge électrique.
e) Au cas où l’outil électroportatif serait utilisé à l’extérieur, servez-vous d’une
rallonge appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela réduit le risque de
décharge électrique.
f) Si une utilisation de l’outil dans un environnement humide ne peut être évitée,

3) Sécurité des personnes
a) Rester vigilant et faire preuve de sens lors de la manipulation de l’outil. Ne pas
utiliser d’outil électrique en état de fatigue ou sous l’influence de drogues, d’alcool
ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique
peut se traduire par des blessures graves.
b) Porter des équipements de protection. Porter toujours des lunettes de protection.
Le port d’équipements de protection tels que des masques à poussières, des chaussures
de sécurité antidérapantes, un casque de sécurité ou des protections antibruit, selon le
travail à effectuer, réduira le risque de blessures aux personnes.
c) Éviter tout démarrage accidentel. S’assurer que l’interrupteur marche-arrêt soit en
position d’arrêt (Off) avant de brancher l’outil sur l’alimentation secteur. Porter un
outil électrique tout en maintenant le doigt posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher un outil
électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche (On) est source d’accidents.
d) Enlever toute clé ou tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre l’outil électrique
en marche. Une clé ou un instrument de réglage resté fixé à un élément en rotation de
l’outil électrique peut entraîner des blessures physiques.
e) Ne pas essayer d’atteindre une zone hors de portée. Se tenir toujours en position
stable et conserver l’équilibre. Cela permet de mieux contrôler l’outil électrique dans
des situations inattendues.
f) Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de vêtements amples ou des bijoux
pendants. Les vêtements amples, les bijoux pendants ou les cheveux longs peuvent être
happés par les pièces en mouvement.
g) Si l’outil est pourvu de dispositifs destinés au raccord d’équipements
d’extraction et de récupération de la poussière/sciure, s’assurer qu’ils soient bien
fixés et utilisés correctement. L’utilisation de ces dispositifs peut réduire les risques
dus à la poussière.
4. Utilisation et entretien des outils électriques
a) Ne pas surcharger l’outil électrique. Utiliser l’outil électrique approprié au travail
à effectuer. Un outil électrique adapté et employé au rythme pour lequel il a été conçu
permettra de réaliser un travail de meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions
de sécurité.
b) Ne pas utiliser un outil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est hors service.
Tout outil électrique dont la commande ne s’effectue plus par l’interrupteur marche-arrêt
est dangereux et doit être réparé.
c) Débrancher l’outil électrique avant d’effectuer tout réglage, changement
d’accessoire ou avant de le ranger. De telles mesures préventives réduiront les risques
de démarrage accidentel.
d) Ranger les outils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des enfants et ne pas
permettre l’utilisation de ces outils aux personnes novices ou n’ayant pas
connaissance de ces instructions. Les outils électriques sont dangereux dans les
mains d’utilisateurs inexpérimentés.
e) Veiller à l’entretien des outils électriques. Vérifier que les éléments rotatifs
soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de l’absence de pièces cassées ou
endommagées susceptibles de nuire au bon fonctionnement de l'outil. Si l’outil
électrique est endommagé, le faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux
accidents sont causés par l’utilisation d’outils électriques mal entretenus.
f) Garder les outils de coupe affûtés et propres. Des outils de coupe bien entretenus,
aux tranchants bien affûtés, sont moins susceptibles de se gripper et sont plus faciles
à contrôler.
g) Utiliser l’outil électrique, les accessoires et les outils à monter, etc., conformément
à ces instructions et selon l’utilisation prévue pour le type d’outil donné, en tenant
compte des conditions de travail et de la tâche à réaliser. Toute utilisation de cet
outil électrique autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut entraîner des situations à
risque et entraînerait une annulation de sa garantie.
5. Entretien
a) Ne faire réparer l’outil électrique que par un réparateur qualifié utilisant
uniquement des pièces de rechange identiques. Cela permettra d’assurer la sécurité
continue de cet outil électrique.
Consignes de sécurité relatives aux
ponceuses-polisseuses
a) Cet outil électrique est destiné à fonctionner comme ponceuse et polisseuse.
Lisez toutes les mises en garde de sécurité, les instructions, les illustrations et les
spécifications fournies avec cet outil électrique. Le fait de ne pas suivre toutes les

instructions données ci-dessous peut provoquer un choc électrique, un incendie et/ou
une blessure grave.
b) Les opérations de meulage, de brossage métallique ou de tronçonnage ne sont
pas recommandées avec cet outil électrique. Les opérations pour lesquelles l’outil
électrique n’a pas été conçu peuvent provoquer un danger et causer un accident
corporel.
c) N’utilisez pas d’accessoires n’ayant pas été conçus et recommandés
spécifiquement par le fabricant d’outils. Le simple fait que l’accessoire puisse être
installé sur votre outil électrique ne garantit pas un fonctionnement en toute sécurité.
d) La vitesse nominale de l’accessoire doit être au moins égale à la vitesse maximale
indiquée sur l’outil électrique. Les accessoires fonctionnant plus vite que leur vitesse
assignée peuvent se briser et voler en éclat.
e) Le diamètre extérieur et l’épaisseur de votre accessoire doivent se situer dans le
cadre des caractéristiques de capacité de votre outil électrique. Les accessoires de
taille incorrecte ne peuvent pas être protégés ou contrôlés de manière appropriée.
f) La taille des arbres de la lame, les moyeux, les plateaux supports ou autres doit
être adapté à l’arbre de l’outil. Pour les accessoires montés avec des flasques,
l’alésage central de l’accessoire doit s’adapter correctement au diamètre du flasque,
autrement, ils seront en déséquilibre, vibreront de manière excessive et pourront
provoquer une perte de contrôle.
g) N’utilisez pas d’accessoire endommagé. Avant chaque utilisation, examinez les
accessoires comme les meules abrasives pour détecter la présence éventuelle
d’ébréchures et fissures, les supports pour détecter les fissures, déchirures
ou l’usure excessive, ainsi que les brosses métalliques pour détecter des fils
desserrés ou fissurés. Si l’outil électrique ou l’accessoire a subi une chute,
examinez les dommages éventuels ou installez un accessoire non endommagé.
Après examen et installation d’un accessoire, placez-vous ainsi que les personnes
présentes à distance du plan de l’accessoire rotatif et faites marcher l’outil
électrique à vitesse maximale à vide pendant 1min. Les accessoires endommagés
seront normalement détruits pendant cette période d’essai.
h) Portez un équipement de protection individuelle. En fonction de l’application,
utilisez un écran facial, des masques ou lunettes de sécurité. Le cas échéant,
utilisez un masque antipoussière, des protections auditives, des gants et un
tablier capables d’arrêter les petits fragments abrasifs ou des pièces à usiner. La
protection oculaire doit être capable d’arrêter les débris volants produits par diverses
opérations. Le masque ou le respirateur doit être capable de filtrer les particules
produites par vos travaux. L’exposition prolongée aux bruits de forte intensité peut
provoquer une perte d’audition.
i) Maintenez les personnes présentes à une distance de sécurité par rapport à la
zone de travail. Toute personne entrant dans la zone de travail doit porter un
équipement de protection individuelle. Des fragments de pièce à usiner ou d’un
accessoire cassé peuvent être projetés et provoquer des blessures en dehors de la zone
immédiate d’opération.
j) Veillez à placer le cordon d’alimentation loin de l’accessoire rotatif. En effet, si vous
perdez le contrôle de votre outil, le cordon pourrait être coupé et risquerait d’entraîner
votre main ou votre bras qui pourraient être happé dans l’accessoire en rotation.
k) Ne reposez jamais l’outil électrique avant que l’accessoire ne soit complétement
arrêté. L’accessoire de rotation peut mordre la surface et arracher l’outil électrique hors
de votre contrôle.
l) Ne laissez pas l’outil électrique en fonctionnement lorsque vous le portez sur
le côté. Un contact accidentel avec l’accessoire en rotation pourrait accrocher vos
vêtements et attirer l’accessoire sur vous.
m) Nettoyez régulièrement ventilations de l’outil électrique. Le ventilateur du moteur
attirera la poussière à l’intérieur du boîtier et une accumulation excessive de poudre de
métal peut provoquer des dangers électriques.
n) Ne faites pas fonctionner l’outil électrique à proximité de matériaux inflammables.
Des étincelles pourraient enflammer ces matériaux.
o) N’utilisez pas d’accessoires nécessitant des fluides réfrigérants. L’utilisation d’eau
ou d’autres fluides réfrigérants peut entraîner à une électrocution ou un choc électrique.
Mesures de prévention et consignes de sécurité
relatives à l’effet de rebond
L’effet de rebond est une réaction soudaine causée par un disque, un support, une brosse
ou tout autre accessoire en rotation se grippant ou déformé. Lorsque l’accessoire est
grippé ou déformé il cale rapidement, entraînant une réaction incontrôlée de l’outil, qui sera
forcé dans la direction opposée au sens de rotation de l’accessoire au moment où il cale.
Par exemple, si un abrasive se coince ou se grippe dans la pièce, le bord du disque entrant
au point où il est coincé peut creuser dans la surface du matériau et peut faire remonter le
disque ou l’éjecter. Le disque peut être éjecté vers l’utilisateur ou dans la direction opposée,
en fonction du sens de rotation du disque lorsqu’il se coince. Dans ces conditions, le disque
abrasif peut se briser.
Le rebond est le résultat d’une mauvaise utilisation de l’outil, de son utilisation dans de
mauvaise condition, ou du non suivi des procédures. Il peut être évité en tenant compte
des précautions suivantes.
a) Exercez une prise en main sûre et ferme de l’outil, des deux mains, en adoptant
une bonne position et en tenant les bras de manière à résister aux forces de
rebond. Utilisez toujours les poignées auxiliaires lorsqu’elles sont fournies pour un
contrôle maximal en cas de rebond ou de réaction lors du démarrage. L’utilisateur
peut contrôler la réaction de coupe ou les forces de rebond si des précautions suffisantes
sont prises.
b) Ne placez jamais votre main prés l’accessoire en rotation. L’accessoire peut être

c) Ne vous tenez pas dans la zone où l’outil se dirigerait en cas de rebond. L’effet
de rebond propulsera l’outil dans la direction opposé au sens de rotation du disque au
moment où il apparait.
d) Soyez extrêmement vigilant lorsque vous travailler dans des coins ou près de
bords tranchants. Évitez de déformer ou déchirer l’accessoire. Les coins, les bords
tranchants etc. ont tendance à déchirer et déformer l’accessoire en rotation et peut
conduire à une perte de contrôle et un effet de rebond.
e) N’adaptez pas de lame chaîne de tronçonneuse, de lame pour le bois ou de lame de
scie dentée. De telles lames entraînent généralement une perte de contrôle et un effet
de rebond.
Mesures de prévention et consignes de sécurité
relatives aux opérations de ponçage
a) N’utilisez pas de papier abrasif trop surdimensionné. Suivez les recommandations
des fabricants, lors du choix du papier abrasif. Un papier abrasif plus grand
s’étendant au-delà du patin de ponçage présente un danger de lacération et peut
provoquer un accrochage, une déchirure du disque ou un rebond.
Mesures de prévention et consignes de sécurité relatives
aux opérations de polissage
a) Ne laissez aucune partie lâche du bonnet de polissage ou de ses cordons de
serrage tourner librement. Rentrez ou coupez tous cordons de serrage. Les cordons
de serrages lâches ou en rotation peuvent s’entortiller dans vos doigts ou se déchirer
sur l’ouvrage.

Déballage
• Déballez le produit avec soin.Veillez à retirer tout le matériau d’emballage et
familiarisez-vous avec toutes les caractéristiques du produit.
• Si des pièces sont endommagées ou manquantes, faites-les réparer ou remplacer avant
d’utiliser l’appareil.
Avant utilisation
ATTENTION : Assurez-vous que l’outil est éteint et débranché de la source d’alimentation
avant de procéder à la pose ou au retrait d’un accessoire, ou de réaliser toute opération de
réglage, de nettoyage ou d’entretien.
ATTENTION : Veillez à sélectionner UNIQUEMENT des accessoires dont la vitesse
nominale maximale est supérieure à la vitesse à vide maximale de l’appareil (voir section «
Caractéristiques techniques »).
Fixer la poignée auxiliaire
ATTENTION : Assurez-vous toujours que la poignée auxiliaire (9) ainsi que la poignée en D
soient en place avant de commencer à utiliser votre ponceuse. N’entreprenez pas d’utiliser
cette ponceuse sans l’avoir au préalable équipée de sa poignée auxiliaire.
1. Pour fixer la poignée auxiliaire, vous devez la visser en tournant dans le sens des
aiguilles d’une montre en choisissant l’un des points d’attache situés sur le boîtier
d’engrenages (resserrez à la main).
Remarque : La poignée auxiliaire peut être positionnée indifféremment du côté droit ou
gauche du boîtier d’engrenages.
2. Pour retirer la poignée auxiliaire, desserrez-la en la tournant dans le sens contraire des
aiguilles d’une montre.
Fixer la poignée en D
1. Retirez d’abord la poignée auxiliaire (9) si celle-ci est déjà en place.
2. Veillez à ce que les trous prévus pour le montage présents sur la poignée en D coïncident
avec les deux points d’attache situés sur le boîtier d’engrenages (5) en veillant à ce que
la poignée soit positionnée au-dessus.
3. Fixez la poignée en D à l’aide des deux boulons hexagonaux et des deux rondelles, puis,
servez-vous de la clé hexagonale pour bien resserrer l’ensemble.
Installer le plateau support
• Le plateau support auto-agrippant (2) doit être fixé de manière sûre sur l’arbre (3)
avant utilisation :
1. Appuyez et maintenez appuyé le bouton de verrouillage de l’arbre (4) d’une main, et
faites lentement tourner l’arbre de l’autre main, jusqu’à ce que vous le sentiez se bloquer.
2. Le plateau support peut à présent être vissé sur l’arbre et serré.
ATTENTION : Le plateau support se serre à la main. Faites attention de ne pas fausser le
filetage et de ne pas trop serrer.
3. Relâchez le bouton de verrouillage de l’arbre.
Installer les bonnets de polissage, les
tampons de polissage, et les disques
• Le bonnet de polissage (1) doit être fixé de manière sûre sur le plateau support
auto-agrippant (2).
• D’autres accessoires pourvus d’un filetage M14, comme par exemple des éponges de
polissage (non fournis) peuvent être installés directement sur l’arbre (3).
Instructions d’utilisation
AVERTISSEMENT : Portez TOUJOURS des lunettes de protection, des protections auditives,
des gants adaptés ainsi qu’un masque respiratoire lorsque vous travaillez avec cet outil.
Mise en marche et arrêt
ATTENTION : N’allumez et n’éteignez jamais l’outil lorsqu’il est en contact avec la pièce de
travail. Ceci peut causer de graves blessures pour l’utilisateur et réduit considérablement la
durée de vie de l’interrupteur marche-arrêt (10).
1. Connectez la machine à l’alimentation secteur.
2. Tenez la machine de manière sure à deux mains : une main sur la poignée arrière (7) et
l’autre main sur la poignée auxiliaire (9) (ou sur la poignée en D si elle est installée).
3. Glissez l’interrupteur marche-arrêt (10) vers la gauche pour mettre la machine
en marche.
4. Laissez l’outil atteindre la vitesse requise avant de faire entrer la machine en contact
avec la pièce de travail.
5. Enlevez la polisseuse de la pièce de travail avant d’éteindre la machine.
6. Pour éteindre la machine, glissez l’interrupteur marche-arrêt vers la droite.
ATTENTION : Attendez toujours que la machine s’arrête complètement avant de la poser.
Réglage de la vitesse de l’outil
ATTENTION : Réglez toujours le panneau de commande sur une vitesse appropriée en
fonction de la tâche que vous devez réaliser.
• La vitesse de la machine est contrôlée grâce au panneau de commande (6) et apparait
sur l’écran d’affichage de la vitesse (11) :
1. Appuyez sur le bouton d’augmentation de la vitesse (12) pour augmenter la vitesse.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton de réduction de la vitesse (13) pour la réduire.
