GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust related hazards.
4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before
making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Always unplug your power tool when leaving
unattended. Such preventative safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
by untrained users.
f. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power tools
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
g. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
h. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the particular type of power
tool, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could result in
a hazardous situation.
5. SERVICE
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Additional safety rules for drills
Wear ear protectors with hammer drills.
Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool.
Loss of control can cause personal injury.
• Fully unwind cable drum extensions to avoid potential
overheating.
• When an extension cable is required, you must ensure
that it has the right ampere rating for your power tool and
is in safe electrical condition.
• If possible, always use clamps or a vice to hold your work.
• Always switch off before you put the drill down.
• Ensure that the lighting is adequate.
• Do not put pressure on the drill, such that it slows the
motor down. Allow the drill bit to cut without pressure. You
will get better results and you will be taking better care of
your tool.
• Keep the area free of tripping hazards.
• Do not let anyone under 18 years operate this tool.
• Only use accessory bits in good condition.
• Before drilling, check that there is sufficient clearance for
the drill bit under the work piece.
• Do not touch the bit after operation. It will be very hot.
• Keep your hands away from under the work piece.
• Never use your hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste
close by the bit.
• Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left
around the work area.
• Support the work properly.
• If you are interrupted when operating the drill, complete
the process and switch off before looking up.
• Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other fixings are
properly tightened.

• When using the drill, use safety equipment including
safety glasses or shield, ear defenders, and protective
clothing including safety gloves. Wear a dust mask if the
drilling operation creates dust.
WARNING. Before connecting a tool to a power source
(mains socket power point receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure
that the voltage supply is the same as that specified on the
nameplate of the tool. A power source with a voltage greater
than that specified for the tool can result in serious injury to
the user, as well as damage to the tool.
If in doubt, do not plug in the tool. Using a power source
with a voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to
the motor.
The tool must be used only for its prescribed purpose.
Any use other than those mentioned in this Manual will
be considered a case of misuse. The user and not the
manufacturer shall be liable for any damage or injury
resulting from such cases of misuse.
To use this tool properly, you must observe the safety
regulations, the assembly instructions and the operating
instructions to be found in this Manual. All persons who use
and service the machine have to be acquainted with this
Manual and must be informed about its potential hazards.
Children and frail people must not use this tool. Children
should be supervised at all times if they are in the area in
which the tool is being used. It is also imperative that you
observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your
area. The same applies for general rules of occupational
health and safety.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made
to the tool nor for any damage resulting from such changes.
Even when the tool is used as prescribed it is not possible to
eliminate all residual risk factors. The following hazards may
arise in connection with the tool’s construction and design:
• Damage to the lungs if an effective dust mask is not worn.
• Damage to hearing if effective ear defenders are not worn.

Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is missing.
If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the
parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.

Auxiliary handle and depth gauge
1. Turn the Auxiliary Handle (8) anti-clockwise to loosen the
collar and slip it over the chuck onto the drill (Fig. A).

2. Insert the Depth Gauge (12) in the hole at the top of the
Auxilary Handle (8) (Fig. B).
3. The Auxiliary Handle (8) can be swivelled around 360°
to find the position that offers most support and the
easiest operation.
4. The Depth Gauge (12) helps keep an accurate depth
when drilling holes to a set depth.
5. To change the position of the Depth Gauge (12), turn the
grip of the Auxilary handle (8) anti-clockwise until the depth
gauge is loose enough to slide in the hole.
6. Set the depth, checking the depth with a steel rule for
most accurate measurement (Fig. C).

7. Then turn the handle grip clockwise to tighten both
the depth stop and the auxiliary handle in the required
position (Fig. D).
Installing and removing bits
NOTE: The fitted chuck is only suitable for SDS-Plus fitment
accessories. The SDS-Plus bit enables easy and safe bit
replacement.
CAUTION. Always ensure that the drill is switched off and
plug is removed from the power socket before installing or
removing drill bits.
Before inserting an SDS-Plus bit always ensure that the bit
end is clean and greased.
1. Pull back the Locking Sleeve (10) and insert the bit into
the chuck opening taking care that the splines on the
shaft of the bit locate properly within the chuck (Fig. E).

2. Test for proper location by releasing the Locking Sleeve
(10) and giving the bit a sharp pull. If the bit can be
removed, again pull back the locking sleeve, rotate the bit
a fraction of a turn and re-insert it into the chuck (Fig. F).
Note: This sometimes requires that you slightly twist the bit
to locate the fitment slots.
3. Release the locking sleeve and again test for proper
location. Repeat if necessary until you are sure that the
bit is properly secured.
4. To remove the bit, pull back
the Locking Sleeve (10),
remove the bit, and release
the locking sleeve (Fig. G).
Note. Hammer action drilling is
only possible with the drill set for
forward rotation.

Operation
Starting and stopping
1. Plug the cordset into the
mains socket.
2. Depress the on/off Trigger
Switch (2) to start the drill and
release the trigger when you
wish to stop (Fig. H).
Forward/reverse
1. The Forward/Reverse Lever Switch (1) is located
immediately above the Trigger Switch (2).
2. It determines the direction of rotation of the tool and
serves as a lock off control.
3. To select forward rotation, release the trigger switch and
push the forward/reverse lever switch to the left side of the
tool (Fig. I).

4. To select reverse, push the Forward/Reverse Lever
Switch (1) to the right side of the tool (Fig. J).
WARNING. When changing the position of the switch (3) be
sure the trigger is released and the motor is stationary. Any
attempt to reverse the direction of rotation whilst the drill is
turning is likely to permanently damage the switch.
Note. The first time the tool is run after changing the
direction of rotation, you may hear a click on start up.
This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Note. It is not uncommon for rotary hammer drills not to
function in hammer mode when used for the first time.
To release the hammer function, place a bit into the
SDS-Plus chuck and with medium force tap the end of the
bit down on to a solid service with the machine on and the
trigger pulled. Do this several times until the hammer
action activates.
Selecting the required function
1. To select the required mode of operation, press the
Selector Button (13) and set 4-Function Selector (14) to
the appropriate position.
2. Release the Selector Button (13).
It is possible to use the pneumatic hammer drill in four
different modes of operation:
1. Stop Rotation with fixed chuck
Pneumatic hammer action with
the bit fixed from rotating is
ideally suited for light
to medium demolition work
or chiseling for example
lifting tiles (Fig. K).
Note. The 13mm keyed chuck
adaptor is not suitable for use
in this mode.
2. Stop Rotation with free
chuck
Pneumatic hammer action with
non-powered bit rotation allows
the operator to freely rotate the
tool to the most suitable angle
for the task (Fig. L).
Note. The 13mm keyed chuck
adaptor is not suitable for
use in this mode.

3. Pneumatic hammer action
For highly efficient drilling into
brick and masonry (Fig. M).
Note. When drilling into
masonry, the drilling rate is fast
and burnout of the tip will occur if
the drill bit is not constantly
cleared (Fig. N).
IMPORTANT. Use SDS-Plus drill
bits only.
4. Rotation only (non
pneumatic hammer
action drilling)
For general drilling into
metal and wood (Fig. O).
Note. In this mode the
13mm keyed chuck adaptor
should be used.
• Use only correctly sharpened
drill bits, which are suitable for
the material being drilled.
• Rotary hammer drills work
more effectively if excessive
force is not used, allowing the
hammer action to function to
maximum efficiency.
• As this machine is not designed for high torque
screwdriving applications, it is not recommended for this
purpose.
• Larger diameter holes in hard wood, steel and concrete
have to be drilled at slower speeds. However, the motor
must not be struggling with the operation. If the motor is
struggling DO NOT continue working, pull the drill clear of
the workpiece and run it on fast speed for a minute or so,
allowing the motor time to cool down before you attempt
more of the work. If the job is too hard for the drill, do not
continue, otherwise permanent damage to the motor will
occur.
• Concrete drilling should be carried out on the highest
speed. DO NOT overload motor when drilling concrete.
DO NOT use too much pressure as the hammer action
relies on the drill bit being able to move back and forward
in the hole being drilled. Always clear the flutes of the drill
bit by removing it from the hole regularly.
Fitting the keyed chuck
The Keyed Chuck (7) supplied as an accessory can be
fitted to the SDS-Plus chuck with the use of the SDS-Plus
Chuck Adaptor (5).
1. The keyed chuck allows bits with a straight shank to be
used with the tool.
2. Grip and pull back the Locking Sleeve (10) and insert the
SDS-Plus Chuck Adaptor (5) (Fig. P).

3. It may be necessary to turn the SDS-Plus chuck adaptor
in order for it to locate properly (Fig. Q).
4. Release the Locking Sleeve (10) to lock the adaptor in
place (Fig. R).

5. Screw the Keyed Chuck (7) onto the threaded end of the
SDS-Plus Chuck Adaptor (5) (Fig. S).
WARNING. The Keyed Chuck (7) is only to be used in
the (drilling) mode of operation.
The 13mm keyed chuck is not suitable to hold
SDS accessories.
The manufacturer recommends the use of a residual current
device with a tripping current of 30mA or less.
Maintenance
WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched off and
the plug is removed from the power socket before making
any adjustments or maintenance procedures. Wear eye
protection when carrying out cleaning.
Keep your machine and its cord clean. The outside of the
machine can be cleaned using a damp soft cloth with a
mild detergent if required. Some maintenance products
and solvents may damage the plastic parts; these include
products containing benzene, 25 trichloroethylene, chloride
and ammonia.
CAUTION. Water must never come into contact with the
tool.
Take special care to keep the ventilation inlets/outlets free
from obstruction; cleaning with a soft brush followed by
a compressed air jet will usually be sufficient to ensure
acceptable internal cleanliness.
If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried
out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s agent, or a
power tool repair centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They
may vibrate loose over time.
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has
entered the grilles near the motor and around the trigger
switch. Use a soft brush to remove any accumulated dust.
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes whilst cleaning.
Re-lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
Excessive sparking generally indicates the presence of dirt
in the motor or abnormal wear on the carbon brushes.
Replacing Carbon Brushes
Using a flat headed
screwdriver, twist the
screwdriver anti-clockwise to
undo the Carbon Brush Cap
(9) (Fig. T). Then remove the
cap.
Remove carbon brush from
the tool and replace with new
brush.
Put the carbon brush cap back onto the tool. Using a flat
head screwdriver twist the cap clockwise until tight.
When complete, repeat same steps on the opposite side.
Storage
Store the tool, instruction manual and accessories in a
secure place. In this way you will always have all the
information and parts ready to hand.

Algemene veiligheidsregels
WAARSCHUWING. Lees alle bedienings- en
veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen van alle
voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren
in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik. De
term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde
waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw elektrische
gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een
snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
Bewaar deze instructies
1. WERKRUIMTE
a. Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak
tot ongelukken.
b. Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid van
ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c. Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u
de controle over het gereedschap verliezen
2. ELEKTRISCHE VEILIGHEID
a. De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten
passen bij het stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet aan.
Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch
gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers en
passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een
elektrische schok.
b. Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde
oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en
koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt
toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.
c. Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden.
Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het
risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d. Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit
om het elektrisch gereedschap te dragen, te trekken
of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd
het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen
of bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop
geraakt snoeren verhoogt het risico op een elektrische
schok toe.
e. Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,
maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt
is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een
elektrische schok te verminderen.
f. Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap
te gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik dan
een energiebron met een aardlekbeveiliging (Residual
Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert
het risico op een elektrische schok.
3. PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID
a. Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch
gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder
invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid
tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch gereedschap kan
leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b. Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag
altijd een veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming voor
de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende
veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming,
vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c. Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand
staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het
dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de
schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch
gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d. Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e. Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans
staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het elektrische
gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.

f. Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en
handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen.
g. Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en
stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan
aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik
van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stofgerelateerde
ongelukken verminderen.
4. GEBRUIK EN VERZORGING VAN ELEKTRISCH
GEREEDSCHAP
a. Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik
elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat
u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt
beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt.
Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met
de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c. Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, toebehoren verwisselt of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d. Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is
op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die
niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of
met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap
niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de
handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e. Haal altijd de stekker van het elektrisch gereedschap
uit het stopcontact indien u dit onbeheerd achterlaat.
Dergelijke preventieve veiligheidsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het
elektrische gereedschap door ongeoefende gebruikers.
f. Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op
foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap
zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische
gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren
voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden
veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden elektrisch
gereedschap.
g. Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
h. Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren
en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en
volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type
elektrisch gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening
met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren
werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor
werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het
apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
5. ONDERHOUD
a. Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden
door een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen
identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van
dat de veiligheid van het elektrische gereedschap
gewaarborgd blijft.
Aanvullende veiligheidsregels voor boren
Draag gehoorbescherming wanneer u boorhamers
gebruikt. Blootstelling aan geluid kan leiden tot
gehoorverlies.
Gebruik de hulphandgrepen die met het gereedschap
worden meegeleverd. Verlies van controle kan leiden tot
persoonlijk letsel.
• Rol verlengsnoeren op een kabelhaspel volledig uit om
mogelijke oververhitting te voorkomen.
• Indien u een verlengsnoer nodig hebt, dient u ervoor te
zorgen dat het de juiste ampère heeft voor uw elektrische
gereedschap en in goede staat is.
• Klem uw werkstuk indien mogelijk altijd met een klem of
bankschroef vast.
• Schakel de boor altijd uit voordat u hem neerlegt.
• Zorg voor voldoende verlichting.
• Oefen niet zoveel druk op de boor uit dat dit de motor
vertraagt. Laat de boor boren zonder druk. U krijgt een

beter resultaat en het is beter voor uw gereedschap.
• Houd uw werkgebied vrij van zaken waar u over kunt
struikelen.
• Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar niet met dit
gereedschap werken.
• Gebruik alleen boren in goede conditie.
• Voordat u boort, dient u te controleren of er voldoende
ruimte voor de boor is onder het werkstuk.
• Raak de boor na het boren niet aan. De boor is erg heet.
• Houd uw handen niet onder het werkstuk.
• Verwijder zaagstof, spaanders of afval vlakbij de boor
nooit met uw handen.
• Laat nooit lappen, doeken, snoeren, koorden en
dergelijke in het werkgebied rondslingeren.
• Zorg voor voldoende ondersteuning voor het werkstuk.
• Als u gestoord wordt tijdens het boren, maak uw werk
dan af en schakel de boor uit voordat u op- of omkijkt.
• Controleer regelmatig of alle moeren, bouten en andere
onderdelen nog goed vastzitten.
• Wanneer u de boor gebruikt, dient u bescherming
te dragen, inclusief een veiligheidsbril of -scherm,
gehoorbescherming en beschermende kleding inclusief
veiligheidshandschoenen. Draag een stofmasker als door
het boren stof vrijkomt.
WAARSCHUWING. Voordat u gereedschap op een
stroombron aansluit (stopcontact, verlengsnoer, etc.), dient
u ervoor te zorgen dat de spanning gelijk is aan wat op
het gegevensplaatje van het gereedschap wordt vermeld.
Indien de spanning van de stroombron hoger is dan op het
gereedschap vermeld staat, kan dit leiden tot ernstig letsel
voor de gebruiker en schade aan het gereedschap.
Verbind het gereedschap niet met de stroom indien u
twijfelt. Indien u een stroombron gebruikt met een lagere
spanning dan op het gegevensplaatje staat vermeld, is dit
schadelijk voor de motor.
Het gereedschap mag alleen gebruikt worden volgens
bestemming. Gebruik voor een andere bestemming dan
vermeld in deze handleiding wordt beschouwd als misbruik.
De gebruiker en niet de fabrikant is vervolgens aansprakelijk
voor eventuele schade of eventueel letsel ten gevolge van
dergelijke gevallen van misbruik.
Voor de juiste bediening van dit gereedschap dient
u, de montage-instructies en de veiligheids- en
bedieningsvoorschriften in deze handleiding in acht te
nemen. Alle personen die de machine gebruiken en
onderhouden dienen op de hoogte te zijn van de inhoud
van deze handleiding en dienen bekend te zijn met de
mogelijke gevaren van het gereedschap. Kinderen en broze
personen mogen dit gereedschap niet gebruiken. Indien er
kinderen aanwezig zijn in de ruimte waar het gereedschap
wordt gebruikt, dient er iemand aanwezig te zijn die op hen
let. Het is tevens verplicht de reglementen ten aanzien van
het voorkomen van ongelukken in uw werkomgeving in acht
te nemen. Hetzelfde geldt voor algemene regels rondom
arbeidsomstandigheden en veiligheid.
De fabrikant is niet verantwoordelijk voor eventuele
wijzigingen die gedaan worden aan het gereedschap,
noch voor eventuele schade ten gevolge van dergelijke
wijzigingen.
Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals
is voorgeschreven, is het niet mogelijk alle resterende
risicofactoren te elimineren.
De volgende gevaren kunnen zich voordoen met betrekking
tot de constructie en het ontwerp van het gereedschap:
• Longschade indien er geen goed werkend stofmasker
wordt gedragen.
• Gehoorschade indien er geen goed werkende
gehoorbeschermers worden gedragen.
Draag een bril.
Draag gehoorbeschermers.
Draag een stofmasker.

Uitpakken
Vanwege de moderne massaproductietechnieken is het niet
waarschijnlijk dat uw GMC-gereedschap gebreken vertoont
of dat er een onderdeel ontbreekt. Als u ziet dat er iets niet
in orde is, laat de onderdelen dan vervangen of het defect
herstellen voor u het gereedschap gebruikt. Indien u dit niet
doet, kan dit leiden tot ernstig letsel.

Hulphandgreep en diepteaanslag
1. Draai de hulphandgreep (8) linksom om de kraag los te
maken en schuif hem over de spankop op de boor (afb. A).
2. Schuif de diepteaanslag (12) in het gat bovenin de
handgreep (8) (afb. B).
3. De hulphandgreep (8) kan 360° worden rondgedraaid
zodat u de stand kunt kiezen die de meeste ondersteuning
biedt en het gemakkelijkste werkt.
4. De diepteaanslag (12) helpt u een nauwkeurige diepte
aan te houden wanneer u gaten volgens een vaste diepte
boort.
5. Om de positie van de diepteaanslag (12) te veranderen,
draait u de greep van de handgreep (8) linksom totdat de
diepteaanslag los genoeg zit om in het gat te schuiven.
6. Stel de diepte in en controleer de diepte met een stalen
meetlat voor een zo nauwkeurig mogelijke meting (afb. C).
7. Draai vervolgens de greep van de handgreep rechtsom
om zowel de diepteaanslag als de hulphandgreep vast te
zetten in de gewenste stand (afb. D).
Boortjes plaatsen en verwijderen
OPMERKING: De voorgemonteerde spankop is alleen
geschikt voor SDS-Plus toebehoren. De SDS-Plus boortjes
kunnen gemakkelijk en veilig verwisseld worden.
LET OP. Zorg er altijd voor dat de boor is uitgeschakeld en
dat u de stekker uit het stopcontact hebt gehaald voordat u
boortjes plaatst of verwijdert.
Zorg dat het uiteinde schoon en ingevet is voor u een
SDS-Plus boortje plaatst..
1. Trek de vergrendelring (10) naar achteren en steek het
boortje in de opening van de spankop, waarbij u erop
let dat de sleuven op de schacht van het boortje op de
correcte plaats in de spankop schuiven (afb. E).
2. Test of de boor goed zit door de vergrendelring (10)
los te laten en stevig aan het boortje te trekken. Als het
boortje uit de spankop kan worden getrokken, trekt u de
vergrendelring weer naar achteren, draait u het boortje
een klein stukje en steekt u het opnieuw in de spankop
(afb. F).
Opmerking: Het kan zijn dat u het boortje wat heen en
weer moet draaien tot de sleuven zich vastzetten.
3. Laat de vergrendelring los en
test opnieuw of het boortje
goed vastzit. Herhaal dit indien
nodig, totdat u zeker weet dat
het boortje goed vastzit.
4. Om het boortje te verwijderen,
trekt u de vergrendelring (10)
naar achteren, verwijdert
u het boortje en laat u de
vergrendelring weer los (afb. G).

Bediening
Starten en stoppen
1. Steek de stekker in het
stopcontact.
2. Druk de aan-/uittrekker (2) in
om de boor te starten en laat
de trekker los wanneer u wilt
stoppen (afb. H).
Rechts/links
1. De keuzeschakelaar rechts/links (1) bevindt zich vlak
boven de trekkerschakelaar (2).
2. Met deze schakelaar bepaalt u de draairichting van het
gereedschap en kunt u de machine vergrendelen.
3. Om de boor rechtsom te laten draaien laat u de trekker
los en drukt u de keuzeschakelaar rechts/links naar de
linkerkant van het gereedschap (afb. I).
4. Om het apparaat linksom te latend draaien, drukt u de
keuzeschakelaar rechts/links (3) naar de rechterkant van
het gereedschap (afb. J).
WAARSCHUWING. Zorg dat u de trekker hebt losgelaten
en dat de motor tot stilstand is gekomen voor u de
schakelaar (1) in een andere stand plaatst. Als u probeert
om de rotatierichting om te keren terwijl de boor draait,
zal de schakelaar waarschijnlijk onherstelbaar beschadigd
raken.
Opmerking. De eerste keer dat u het gereedschap laat
draaien nadat u de rotatierichting hebt omgekeerd, kunt u
een klik horen bij het opstarten. Dit is normaal en duidt niet
op een probleem.
Opmerking. Wanneer een boorhamer voor de eerste keer
wordt gebruikt kan het voorkomen dat de hamerfunctie niet
onmiddellijk werkt.
Om de hamerfunctie te activeren, plaatst u een boortje in de
SDS-Plus spankop, schakelt u de machine in en klopt u met
gemiddelde kracht met het uiteinde van het boortje op een
stevig stuk materiaal terwijl u de trekker ingedrukt houdt.
Herhaal dit tot de hamerfunctie gaat werken.
De gewenste functie kiezen
1. Om de gewenste werkwijze te kiezen, drukt u de
keuzepal (13) in en zet u de keuzeknop (14) in de
gewenste stand.
2. Laat de pal (13) los.
U kunt de pneumatische boorhamer op vier verschillende
manieren gebruiken:
1. Draaistop met vaste spankop
Pneumatisch hameren zonder
dat het boortje draait, is ideaal
voor licht tot medium sloopwerk
of beitelwerkzaamheden zoals
het lichten van tegels (afb. K).
Opmerking. Gebruik deze stand
niet wanneer de 13 mm spankop
met sleutel op de boor zit.
2. Draaistop met vrije
spankop
Pneumatisch hameren waarbij
het boortje draait zonder
aandrijving zodat u het
gereedschap nu vrij rondraaien
naar de hoek die zich het best
leent voor de klus (afb. L).
Opmerking. Gebruik deze stand
niet wanneer de 13 mm spankop
met sleutel op de boor zit.
