INTRODUCTION
The Giglio turntable follows the beauty and technical
innovation of the new generation of turntable designed
by Gold Note featuring an evident distinction and the
legacy of strong Tuscan origins.
The Giglio features a 50mm thick, curved plinth of
lacquered chosen for its exceptional elasticity,
strength and high density being at the same time
evocative of Italian Tuscan sea, one of the most
recognizable places in the world, creating a strong
union between the finished product and the skilful local
craftsmen who made the plinth by hand.
The curved plinth is precisely cut in the inner side to find
the perfect tuning of the wood interfaced with a 3mm
stainless steel shaped board threaded to the massive
wooden curved plinth in 16 strategic points tune the
whole structure completed with 20mm thick black
polished acrylic handles the electronic board of the
turntable lowering the total frequency resonance as
well.
The curved wooden plinth is been elaborated after
years of research at the Gold Note engineering labs in
order to replace a much bigger mass plinth having a
traditional rectangular shape structure; the extra rigidity
obtained by the unparalleled curves allows to have a
sophisticated technical design and a great look as well.
The Giglio features the same 12Volt synchronous
motor developed for Mediterraneo. The PWM –
Pulse Width Modulator – design transforms the
power voltage in AC-DC-AC mode, enabling the best
coupling of the two AC semi-waves for a perfect
coupling literally annulling any motor resistance and
vibration allowing the highest motor torque at the
same time. The Power Supply of the motor electronically
control the 33⅓and 45rpm and the fine speed adjust
keeping the selection permanently in the turntable
memory even without AC power.
The new perfectly polished hourglass shaped motor
pulley also allows the turntable belt spins very smoothly
reducing the wow& flutter and noise as never before.
The 80mm long platter Spindle/Bearing is made of
best-hardened steel and bronze for top quality audio
performance. The platter bearing is recessed into the
acrylic top plinth to keep the platter as closest as pos-
sible to the turntable structure reducing the turbulenc-
es generated by the rotation.
The 23mm platter made of black Sustarin, a special
material based on PTE polymer; elastic but deaf at the
same time, it features an extraordinary ability to reduce
vibration feedback while the high mass helps a regular
rotational stability.
The platter is designed to stay only 3mm closed to the
turntable plinth. Such small platter/plinth interfer-
ence allows reducing turbulence featuring the greatest
noiseless functionality.

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
This section describes the special features of the Giglio
turntable, the construction features, the reasons for
the technical choices and the originality of the design.
• The Giglio is rigid turntable that uses a plinth made of
high damped MDF with 3mm stainless steel and
20mm acrylic plinth.
• The plinth bears three adjustable feet made of
acrylic for ensuring greater insensitivity to vibrations.
• The turntable platter is made of 23mm thick Sus-
tarin a particularly deaf polymer chosen for its dampen-
ing ability and stability.
• The recessed Spindle allows the platter spins very
closed to the turntable plinth in order to reduce the
turbulences of rotation the best.
• The spindle is a high class machined stainless
steel split in two-piece for which the name Split-Spin-
dle™. Able to clamp the platter thru its conical shape,
it is 60 mm long to ensure a top class performance. A
large longitudinal groove is located on its axis, which
allows the lubricating oil to run in constant manner. The
longer spindle eradicates any pendulum effect and
distributes the inertial energy along its entire axis, com-
pletely annulling any type of lateral friction.
• The bronze bearing I rectified and to guarantee a
smooth spindle rotation stability while a customised
bottom platter bearing enables very low noise also.
• The platter bearing is threaded outside in order
to be tightly blocked to the plinth of the turntable on its
own axis allowing a precise coupling.
• The custom AC 12 Volt low voltage electronically
controlled Giglio motor allows 33⅓& 45 rpm elec-
tronic speed control and pitch adjustment. Besides the
Gold Note special designed motor directly derived by
the Bellagio flagship turntables guarantees a perfect
rotation stability and great torque while absolutely noise-
less rotation.
The Giglio motor features the Gold Note PWM design
allows a 12V very low voltage power optimized power-
ing by a triple conversion of the voltage, from AC230V
to DC230V then reduced to DC12V and reconverted to
AC12V. The final result is a totally controlled power
supply able to control fully the motor finding the perfect
phasing, with a convenient speed 33/45rpm adjustable
set up and fine pitch control.

FIRST OPERATION
1) Please remove carefully all the protecting foam and
check the items listed are all supplied.
2) Place the Mediterraneo deck on a levelled surface,
the best is a wall shelf immune to footfall, then level
the turntable.
3) Plug the DIN/RCA cable of the arm on the shaft
female connector DIN side, hooking the RCA connec
tors to the amplifier phono input.
4) Install the counterweight into the rear arm wand of
the arm selecting the correct cartridge tracking
weight with the help of a precision scale (not
supplied).
5) Install the turntable belt surrounding the hourglass
motor pulley and the platter outer perimeter.
6) Plug the Power Adapter cable to the 12V rounded
plug Turntable Speed Control ; then plug the AC
adapter to the AC plug once selected the right inter
national plug supplied.
POSITIONING THE MEDITERRANEO
Your GIGLIO turntable has been designed for home
Hi-Fi systems. It must be protected from direct
sunshine rays and humidity. Do not put it close to
strong heating sources, electrical and electronic
motors, mobile phones etc.
The levelling and positioning on a solid shelf, as
explained in the previous chapter, is fundamental to
ensure the best audio performances.
Operating the Turntable 33⅓ rpm & 45 rpm Electronic
Control
The turntable is fully controlled by an electronic power
supply
TURNTABLE SPEED CONTROL ADJUST:
• Inner Button Start and Stop the 33⅓r pm speed.
Once the 33⅓rpm is playing its red LED light turn on.
•Outer Button Start and Stop the 45rpm speed. Once
the 45rpm is playing its red LED light turn on.
The Mediterraneo also features a fine speed adjust
“Pitch Control” allows a very fine adjust of the speed of
the turntable.
PITCH CONTROL MODE
To enter the PITCH CONTROL MODE is necessary to
press and hold for 3/4 seconds both 33⅓and 45
buttons together while the turntable playing 33⅓or
45rpm. The related red LED light shut down and the
unit is ready to adjust the fine speed with the help of
the stroboscope.
• PITCH –pressing in sequence the 33⅓rpm button
its LED light flashes fine speed decrease.
• PITCH + pressing in sequence the 45rpm button its
LED light flashes fine speed increase.
To get out the PITCH CONTROL MODE press and
hold for 3/4 seconds both 33⅓and 45 buttons togeth-
er, the LED related to the speed adjusted will show
back.
The TURNTABLE SPEED CONTROL unit records
permanently in the turntable memory the speed
adjusted singularly for both 33⅓and 45rpm even if
the unit is unplugged from the AC wall.

and completely insert the male DIN connector with the ground pinch
rear faced as shown in the pictures below.

- Adjusting Lift Bent Bar Hex-Bolt. The Lift Bent Bar can be adjusted loosing the hex-bolt with the
1,5mm Allen wrench supplied in the tone arm accessories.
- Tone-Arm Large Counterweight to manually set up the main tracking force depending on the phono
cartridge used.
- Tone-Arm Small Counterweight to finely set up the tracking force on the phono cartridge.
- Shell Azimuth Adjustment with the 0,9mm Allen Wrench supplied to eventually correct the
right alignment of the tone-arm head-shell
Once the right position of the counterweights are set up the counterweight maybe
solidally blocked with hex bolt indicated in the picture as RED spots with the help of the
proper Allen Wrench supplied in the tone arm accessories.
Please Note: To adjust the wanted tracking force is necessary to have a precion scale (not included)
Installing the Anti-Skate system:
After the insertion of Anti-Skate Bullet Counterweight (3) into the Anti-Skate Nylon Wire (1) pass through the
other side nylon wire into the small Cylinder Eye (2) and make a knot to block the wire in it as the pitcure shows
above. Lay the wire across the external groove of the Anti-Skate Bar (4). If necessary it is possible increasing
the friction stepping the Nylon Wire on the internal groove of the Anti-Skate Bar (4)
- Anti-Skate Nylon Wire with lead stopping spot supplied in the tone arm accessories.

VTA SETUP
HINGES FRICTION ADJUSTMENT
The Hinges friction maybe adjusted to let the Dust Cover keeps
open inclined front or even backward.
Turn the Philips screw clockwise to increase the friction, the
opposite, anti-clockwise to decrease the friction and the hinge
resistance.
AZIMUTH
After the cartridge is properly installed on the tone
arm adjust the Azimuth of the shell with the supplied
0,9mm Allen Wrench supplied.
The correct Azimuth enhances high quality audio
performance.
CYLNDER EYE
Insert the supplied anti-skate weight
(3)[see previous page] into the
anti-skate Nylon then pass the Nylon
Wire through the micro hole of the
Cylinder Eye indicated here with the
red arrow. Make a not to block the
wire and lay it of the outer groove as
shown below
VTA SETUP
Loose the indicated Hex-bolt of the arm
collar with the 1,5mm Allen Wrench sup-
plied in the tone-arm accessories, to lift up
and down the arm correctly adjusting the
VTA as necessary.

original GOLD NOTE AC adapter to power the turntable to ensure
the correct performance.

The Mediterraneo also features a fine speed adjust “Pitch Control” allows a very fine adjust of the speed of
the turntable.

buttons together while the turntable playing 33⅓or 45rpm. The related red LED light shut down and the
unit is ready to adjust the fine speed with the help of the stroboscope.

All GOLD NOTE Turntables and Tonearms are supplied with the Gold Note Calibration Tool allows
calibrating correctly the:
A) Phono Cartridge alignment
B) Overhang

necessary a strobo light to check

OVERHANG:
To get the right Overhang it is necessary to insert the Gold Note Calibration Tool into the turntable
record Pin and position the cartridge Tip on the indicated overhang of the phono cartridge
manufacturer as well indicated in the picture below.
SPEED ADJUSTMENT:
To verify the right speed use a strobo light (eventually a home NEON works the same).
The right speed would let you see the sequence of black rectangular signs being stably stopped while
the turntable is playing.
The Outer line is for checking the 33 1/3rpm
The Inner line is for checking the 45rpm

PHONO CARTRIDGE ALIGNMENT:
To correctly align the phono cartridge having the best tracking position, point the tip of the
phono cartridge into the red circle both of the Green and the Blue ones indicated in the picture
below.
The phono cartridge body must be aligned on the stripes around to have a correct working
geometry.

WARRANTIES REGISTRATION
To validate the warranty is necessary to register the unit on the Gold Note
internet web site within 15 days from the purchase on the appropriate area of
the web site: http://www.goldnote.it/
If the unit is not registered correctly or is been purchased from a different coun-
try of the purchaser origin/home the unit will not be covered by any warranty
and the eventual registration refused.
The warranty does not does not cover in any case: Tubes, Phono Car-
tridge Styli and Batteries.

All GOLD NOTE® products are the result of meticulous technological research,
and consequently their correct functioning is guaranteed. In spite of this it is
possible that problems may emerge which non-specialist users cannot resolve.
In this case, contact your dealer who will advise you on how to resolve the prob-
lem.
Do not return any object directly to the factory or to the national distributor or
without being authorized to do so. In such cases both GOLD NOTE® and the
distribution agents operating within your territory decline responsibility of any
kind.

• With EXTREME care use ONLY very soft 100% cotton
cloth to sweep dust and stains out.
Any acid or not extremely soft cloth will irreversibly
damage the turntable fine aesthetic.
Do not use any alcohol to clean the turntable anodised
label, pulley and motor spindle. Only dry cloth is
allowed
