General Care and Safety Guide
To obtain maximum benefit from your Goldair Electric Blanket please read the instruction manual
carefully and ensure this is understood before using the product.

1. Before using the blanket, make sure the
power supply is 230-240V, AC, 50Hz.
2. Do not use an extension cord, power
board or external timer with this product.
3. Do not use if the blanket has a damaged
cord as this may lead to overheating or
personal injury.
4. Do not use heavy or dense over blankets
as they may lead to overheating of the
electric blanket.
5. Do not trap or fold cords between bed
slats, mattress, or springs, or against
walls, headboards or bed frame as this
may cause damage to the cord.
6. Do not use the blanket on a bed used by
an infant, incapacitated person,
paraplegic, quadriplegic, diabetic, anyone
sensitive to heat or someone who can not
clearly understand the instruction and/or
operate the controls.
7. The product is not to be used by young
children unless the controls have been
preset by a parent or guardian or unless
the child has been adequately instructed
on how to operate the controls safely.
8. This product is not intended for medical
use in hospitals.
9. If you find any damage with your blanket,
disconnect the appliance from the power
supply immediately and contact your
nearest authorised service agent.
10. Do not use this product on a damp
mattress or on a water bed.
11. Do not use on an adjustable bed.
12. Do not pinch, flex, or expose the heating
wire. Damaged heating wire may cause a
fire hazard or personal injury.
13. Keep the control unit away from an open
window.
14. Turn off the blanket and disconnect the
power cord when not in use.
15. Do not dry clean the blanket. Do not use
bleach or harsh cleaning fluids as the
cleaning liquid may damage the insulation
of the heating element.
16. Do not use any pins, needles, safety pins
or other sharp items on your electric
blanket as they will damage the electric
wiring.
17. Keep all dogs, cats, and other pets away
from the product.
18. Do not tuck in the blanket as this may
cause over heating and/or fire.
19. The blanket can be used only with the
control unit provided by the manufacturer.
Any other control unit may cause
overheating and/or fire.
20. Do not unplug the product by the power
cord while in use. Always turn the power
off at the power outlet before you remove
the plug. Remove by grasping the plug; do
not pull on the cord.

Overview of your Goldair Electric Blanket
3 HEAT CONTROL
The control features a rotary switch to adjust the heat setting, plus a setting indicator light for easy
adjustment in the dark.
Your Goldair Electric Blanket is equipped with a 3 heat control.
Two controls are supplied with the Queen, and King size Electric Blanket.
1 Low, gentle heat
2 Medium Heat
3 High Heat
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using your electric blanket for the first time;
The blanket needs to be unfolded and laid flat
before switching on.
we recommend that you switch your blanket to the
maximum setting for two to three hours before
bedtime then reduce to your desired heat setting
when sleeping.
EVERYDAY USE
With normal use your electric blanket will require
15 minutes of preheating on the maximum setting
before bedtime. We recommend that you turn the
blanket down to Low or off when sleeping.
STORING YOUR BLANKET
Always allow the blanket to cool before
storing. Your blanket can remain on the bed
all year round as a comfortable under-
blanket. Simply remove the controls and
store until winter. If you wish to remove the
blanket from your bed when not in use, roll
or fold it loosely and store in a blanket bag
or the bag it was supplied in. Avoid pressing
sharp creases into the blanket.

FITTING YOUR GOLDAIR FITTED ELECTRIC BLANKET
Place the electric blanket on the mattress with the skirt on top of the blanket. Ensure the end of
the blanket with controls is at the top end of the bed. See Fig 3.
Once the blanket is in the correct position fit the skirt over the mattress.
Connect the control units into the socket's on the blanket and plug into a power point and turn on.
The cord and control switches must be kept outside the bed and away from external heating
sources, such as heaters or bedside lamps.

FITTED BLANKETS –FEATURES AND BENEFITS
•Fitted Design - the fitted skirt is elasticated to keep the blanket flat and taut on the mattress and
makes it easier to fit and remove from the bed.
•Machine Washable - the detachable controls and waterproof element make your electric
blanket safe to machine wash and tumble dry. For instructions on how to launder your Goldair
Electric Blanket refer to Care & Cleaning section.
•3 Heat Control - a choice of 3 heat settings allows you to select the desired temperature to
keep you comfortable all night.
•Detachable Controls - remove the controls when laundering your blanket.
•Dual Controls - Double, Queen and King Electric Blankets feature two controls for personalised
heating.

CARE & CLEANING OF YOUR ELECTRIC
BLANKET
Your Goldair Electric Blanket with Mattress
Protector comes with a removable top cover
which can be washed and dried without having
to remove the rest of the blanket from the bed.
Taking care of your electric blanket is easy and
safe as long as you follow the steps outlined
below:
•DO NOT dry clean your blanket. Dry
cleaning will damage the wiring.
•DO NOT use bleach or cleaning fluids.
•DO NOT use a wringer.
•DO NOT iron the blanket.
•DO NOT turn on the blanket until it is
completely dry.
•DO NOT use mothballs or sprays of any
kind.
SPOT CLEANING
•Unplug and remove the control units.
•Wet sponge the effected area using a
mild soap and lukewarm water solution.
Ensure the water temperature is less
than 30°.
•Gently sponge the effected area with
clean water.
•Use a neutral colored towel to absorb
excess water.
HAND WASHING
•Do not allow the control unit or power plug
to come into contact with any water.
•Fold and presoak the blanket for 15
minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm water
solution. Ensure the water temperature is
less than 30°.
•Gently squeeze the soap suds through for
a few minutes.
•Rinse in fresh lukewarm water.
MACHINE WASHING (BLANKETS WITH
DETACHABLE CONTROLLERS ONLY)
•Unplug and remove the control units.
•Fold and presoak the blanket for 15
minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm water
solution. Ensure the water temperature is
less than 30°.
•Wash in mild soap and lukewarm water on
the delicate or gentle cycle for 2 minutes.
•Rinse in fresh lukewarm water.
AIR DRYING
•Gently stretch the blanket to its original
size.
•Air dry over a clothes line or shower rod.
(DO NOT use clothes pegs or clips of any
kind).
•DO NOT use the blanket until it is
completely dry.
PROOF OF PURCHASE
To receive warranty retain receipt as proof of
purchase. (Refer to back of booklet).

Care and Cleaning of your Goldair Electric Blanket

Your Goldair product has been inspected
and tested and is guaranteed subject to the
following for a period to two years from the
date of purchase against defects in
workmanship and materials. During this
period, such defects will be rectified by
repair or replacement of the product
purchased. Your product contains no user
serviceable components and this warranty
becomes invalid if in our opinion the product
has been misused, abused, incorrectly
installed, tampered with, connected to an
electrical supply not corresponding with the
name plate specification, or subjected to
power surges. The warranty does not
include any labour or other associated
expense that may be involved in removal or
installation of the product. Normal wear and
tear is expressly excluded.
If your Goldair product fails to operate
satisfactorily, please return it to the retailer
from whom it was purchased. To obtain a
repair or replacement product under this
warranty, you will need to produce
satisfactory evidence of date of purchase.
The completed warranty and purchase
receipt must be presented with the product.
The warranty should be filled out at the time
of purchase. It is in your interest to make
sure this is done.
If the product is to be replaced (cannot be
repaired) then that replacement will be of
the same or similar product or accessory
excluding packaging, instruction card etc.
Where a replacement product is supplied,
this shall be guaranteed for the balance of
the original warranty period.
Any model that is no longer available will be
replaced by a model of a value and with
such features as we consider appropriate in
the circumstances. Goldair is not
responsible for freight forwarding charges,
losses or damage in transit.
If service is required after the warranty
period has expired, the product should be
returned to a qualified electrical technician.
Service outside of the warranty period will
be at your cost.
Consumers Guarantee Act (1993).
In accordance with the above act
consumers are advised that: The
manufacturer does not undertake that
repair facilities and parts are necessarily
available for this product.
If any of the provisions of the foregoing are
contrary to any relevant legislation, then
that provision shall be deemed to be
excluded from the warranty and the rest of
the provisions will continue to apply.
