Important Information
N.B. To reduce the danger of fire, keep combustible materials well away from
the front of the heater.
When using electrical appliances, always take basic precautions to reduce the
danger of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using the heater.
2. This heater gets hot when it is working. To avoid burns, do not touch the hot
surfaces with a bare foot. Unplug the heater and let it cool for at least 5 minutes
before moving it.
3. To reduce the risk of fire, keep combustible materials, such as curtains,
clothing, towels, sofas, beds and other elements at a minimum distance of 1
metre away from the heater.
4. It is essential to take great care when children or handicapped people can
handle the heater, or if it is used close to them, and especially when the heater is
left on without supervision.
5. Always unplug the appliance from the mains when not in use.
6. To disconnect the heater, put the control to (0) OFF, then unplug from the mains,
TO UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE, PULL THE PLUG, NOT THE CABLE.
7. Do not use a heater with a damaged plug or power cable, or after a malfunction,
or if it has been dropped or suffered any kind of damage. Return the heater to the
authorised repair centre closest to you so that it can be examined, electrical or
mechanical adjustments made, or repaired.
8. This heater is not designed for use in damp or wet places, such as bathrooms or
clothes washing areas. Never put the heater anywhere where it can come into
contact with water, such as close to a washbasin, swimming pool, shower or
bathtub. If the heater gets wet, disconnect from the mains before touching it, as with
a wet heater there is always a risk of electric shock even when switched off. Never
touch a heater, whether wet or dry, if you have wet hands or any part of your body
is wet. To obtain maximum protection against electric shock, always plug the heater
into a socket with a switch and properly earthed. Do not use the heater out of doors.
9. To avoid the cable overheating, do not cover any part of it with carpets,
doormats, tablecloths, newspapers, magazines, furniture, etc. Place the cable
away from areas where people walk so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
10. Do not allow any extraneous objects to get into the ventilation or air outlet
openings, as this could cause electric shock, fire or damage to the heater.
11. To avoid the danger of fire, do not obstruct the air entry or exit openings. Do
not use the appliance on a soft surface (such as a bed) where the openings can be
obstructed or the heater could overturn.
12. This heater contains parts that produce arcs and sparks. Do not use in places
where petrol, paint or other volatile or inflammable liquids are used or stored.
13. It is normal for the cable and plug of the heater to be hot. A distorted cable or
flex or one which burns on touch could be the result of a defective electrical socket.
A defective socket can overheat the power cable and cause a fire.
14. Plug directly into the electricity socket on the wall. The extension leads
normally available are not suitable for the charge of current of this heater without
dangerous overheating. If you have to use an extension lead, do not use a cable of
less than 15 amps or smaller than calibre 14. The use of an unsuitable extension
lead can cause the cable to overheat or start a fire.
15. Do not place any object in front of the heater.

16. Do not place the heater close to a bed, as objects such as pillows or blankets
could fall on it and catch fire on contact with the heater.
17. Check the air entry and exit openings of your heater regularly to avoid an
accumulation of dust. If necessary, clean them with a vacuum cleaner, Unplug and
disconnect the heater before cleaning it.
18. Never clean or repair this heater when it is plugged in. Do not submerge it in
water. Clean the outside surface with a damp cloth and dry with a soft dry cloth. Use
a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the inside.
19. This heater has been designed to supply additional heat only for domestic use
and must not be used as a main heat source, in continuous use.
20. Use the heater only as directed in this manual. The manufacturer does not
recommend any other use, as it could cause a fire, electric shock or injury to
individuals.
21. Do not use the heater while asleep.
