The combination of the K2 product family RT Software’s tOG-Sports third-party telestration sports graphics application gives supe-
rior functionality along with a better value for the money than competitive offerings, allowing broadcasters to significantly enhance
their sports programs.
tOG-Sports’ application requires a video source and has been qualified to work with the Grass Valley™K2 Summit™/K2 Solo™media
servers.
The system is extremely flexible and can be used:
By the presenter in a studio show, typically with a touchscreen interface. This can include a virtual stadium view•
To insert live graphics such as advertising to monitors, including stadium large screens during a game•
To enhance quick replays featuring events such “offsides” and “distance to goal” graphics during a game•
To playout more elegant graphics clips during breaks, half-time, highlight shows, and end of game. Typically these will include•
player trails, highlighted regions, and virtual stadium views
While the system can also be used as a traditional tool for on-screen graphics, the real power is that it uses video-based tech-
niques for putting the graphics on the field of play in 3D. This means tOG-Sports can transform sports programming with 3D tied to
on-field graphics whether the users are handling production at an event, taking remote feeds, working on clips, or even re-packag-
ing archives.
The system is already in use with some of the world’s leading and most innovative sports broadcasters, including Sky Sports and
the BBC.
Approximately 50% of the cost of competitive products while offering a more complete feature set. Cost effectively provides the•
“added value” of live, near live, and analysis graphics that sports channels are looking for.
Extremely easy to set up and use. A full training course is just one day long.•
Integrates with Grass Valley K2 Summit/K2 Solo media servers to provide a cost-effective turnkey solution.•
Ready to go on-air out of the box. System comes complete with a full suite of all popular telestration graphics (lines, arrows,•
circles, areas, player trail, and virtual stadiums).
Fully customized graphics can be created off-line on a separate tOG-Edit system and then played out live on the tOG-Sports•
system.
Players are keyed on top of the on field graphics. The system includes a software-based chroma keyer and linear keyer.•
The primary features include line and texture tracking-based virtual graphics for sports stadiums, easy to use telestration•
graphics, fully customizable 3D graphics, easy to use touchscreen interface for the presenter, on field graphics, sponsorship
graphics, and analysis graphics.
Quick and easy offside lines. The logos on the pitch are standard, the
virtual large screen is a custom graphic.
Tying graphics to the pitch makes analysis
come alive.

There are three products in the tOG-Sports family:
tOG-Sports Studio – for traditional 2D telestration using a touchscreen interface.
tOG-Sports Live – for live insertions during a game.
tOG-Sports Pro – for preparing analysis clips.
tOG-Sports is dependent on having a video source, and for all three products listed above, a Grass Valley K2 Summit or K2 Solo is
recommended.
The tOG-Sports solution is comprised of a perpetual software license, an annually renewable software support agreement (at
approximately 10% of the license price), and an HP z800 broadcast specification PC (SD or HD in and out). In addition, installation
and training services are available.

Product Information
The typical tOG-Sports user is a sports channel that is either hosting the broadcast, or is taking the feed. tOG-Sports can be used
Three ways for a sports broadcast: During the build up to the game for analysis. During the game for branding, sponsorship, or
quick replay graphics, as well as for breaks and at half-time. And for wrap-up shows for analysis.
Major sports broadcast customers using tOG-Sports include Sky, BBC, ESPN, ESS, Fox, Setanta, Channel 7, and Star Sports.
It is also used by many major sports graphics service providers, such as WT Vision, Alston Elliot, Nemeton, Shooting Partners,
Telegenics, and Namadgi.
tOG-Sports Pro
Adds ability to produce clips for half-time, wrap-up, and highlight shows•
Includes all functionality of tOG-Sports Studio and tOG-Sports Live•
Adds line tracking capability (so that 3D graphics can be added to feeds and archives)•
Uses K2 Summit/K2 Solo video and timecode to create:•
–Video sequences with graphics coming on, coming off, VTR pausing, restarting
–Key framed animations (creates illusion of player and ball tracking)

tOG-Sports Live
Puts 3D graphics on the field of play•
Includes all functionality of tOG-Sports Studio•
Uses ptz-encoded VR camera heads (e.g., Vinten 250IT) or can be upgraded to include video-•
based tracking.
Puts sponsor logos on the field of play and in the stadium live during game. Using the video•
and timecodes from the K2 Summit/ K2 Solo source it can be used to show “quick replay
graphics” such as offsides, advantage lines, and distances/speeds.
