DOUBLE DOOR FRAME LAYOUT
Frame rough door opening 1/2'' taller than doors and 1/2'' wider than width of both doors. Measure assembled doors
for an exact dimension.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Remove protective film from the
polycarbonate panels. Allowing film to remain intact and
in direct sunlight will make it difficult if not impossible to
remove. Store panels out of direct sunlight until film is
removed.
Rest panel edges on cardboard or other material to
protect them from dirt and damage during assembly.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Proper care and maintenance of the door is important.
Check these items periodically to properly maintain door
and door frame:
• Regularly check polycarbonate panels to ensure
these remain secure and in good condition. Replace
damaged panels if needed.
• Check connections and all fasteners to verify that
they remain tight.
• Check contents of shelter to verify nothing is touching
any panel that could cause damage or interfere with
door operation.
• Do not leave door partially opened. Close door and
secure with latch, or prop open to avoid personal
injury or damage.
• For replacement or missing parts, contact your sales
representative.

ASSEMBLE DOOR FRAME COMPONENTS
Consult diagrams near the back of this guide before you begin.
ATTENTION: Photos and diagrams show attaching door frame to an end
wall constructed using girts with a specific profile. If actual end wall frame
differs, take necessary steps to alter instructions as needed to allow proper
installation of door jambs and header.
The following steps describe one way to set door jambs.
1. Using dimensions from diagram below, locate and mark door jamb
positions on site.
2. Dig a 10"-12" diameter hole at locations found in previous step to a
depth that is below geographic frost line. (Minimum depth: 24".)
3. Locate the 120" door jambs (105488120). Using a metal saw, cut and
remove 2-1/2" sections from one end of each door jamb as shown in
photo A. This creates a lip and allows jamb to be attached to girt (see
photo B and C and Side View diagram).
ATTENTION: Diagrams A-D show left door jamb only. Adjust cuts when
cutting end for right jamb.
4. Using diagrams as guides, attach jambs to girts using 108553 wafer
head screws (photo C, D, and E). Install end wall girts if needed.
ATTENTION: Position door jambs so open sides of C-channel face
away from door opening (as shown in photo C) and lip overlaps
girt. When attached to girt, lower end of each jamb extends into a
ground anchor hole and is secured in place using concrete. Consult
a knowledgeable contractor if needed. During installation, verify that
inside-to-inside dimension for door frame remains consistent.

5. With door jambs attached, measure and mark height of rough door
opening. Consult drawing below and Door Frame Layout located in
Quick Start. Measure from finished grade to underside of header.
6. Locate the 10548872 header material, measure outside-to-outside
width of door jambs, and cut header to required length.
7. Using a metal saw, cut two 2" sections and bend lip inward from
both ends of door header as shown at right (see photos F and G).
This creates two (2) tabs and allows header to attach to jambs.
Open channel of header points upward.
8. Position header so the two (2) tabs on each side overlap door
jambs (see photo H). Align header bottom with vertical support
marks made in Step 5. Ensure header is level and check
dimensions.
9. Attach front and back of header to jambs using wafer head screws.
Reinforce header by securing bent lip to vertical support using Tek
screws as shown in photo H. (Customer-supplied bolts can also be
used.)
10. After door frame is square and assembled, secure door jambs in
ground using concrete.
NOTE: Concrete should remain at least 2"- 4" below ground level
so it does not interfere with construction, installation of other end
wall components (if equipped), or door operation.
11. After assembling door frame, continue with door assembly.

DOUBLE TWIN-WALL DOOR ASSEMBLY
Materials and parts needed to assemble double swinging
doors include:
• Door frames (102923), 8mm panels (113296Z096),
door hinges (FA5030), end cap (104548),
chain bolt (100406), and latches (FA2410)
• Tek screws (FA4484B), neo-bonded washers
(102921B), and aluminum profile (104213)
Assemble and Attach Doors
NOTE: Install panels with UV-protected side toward the
outside. See panel film for details.
1. Locate one (1) door frame (102923), assemble (if
needed), and place it on a flat surface.
2. Take one (1) polycarbonate panel and trim it so that
length is one-quarter inch (1/4") shorter than length
of door frame.
3. Trim width of panel (if needed) so that it is one-
quarter inch (1/4") narrower than width of door frame.
NOTE: Trimming panels as instructed will keep panel
flush with edge of door frame once aluminum profile
(104213) is installed.
4. Center panel on door frame.
5. Using Tek screws (FA4484B) and galvanized neo-
bonded washers, attach panel to horizontal cross
tube of door frame. Evenly space Tek screws and
washers every 12".
Photo shows panel attached to outside of door frame
and finished with aluminum (104213) U-channel.
7. To keep panel and profile in place, install Tek screws
and neo-bonded galvanized washers so screw
drills through longer edge of U-channel (underside
of panel) and washer overlaps shorter edge of
U-channel (top) as shown above. Evenly space Tek
screws every 12".
8. Repeat the above steps to attach panel and to install
profile for remaining door frame.
9. Determine on which door to install handle, locate
the door latch hole (5" from edge of door in cross
member) and drill 1" hole through panel at the hole
location.
6. Install aluminum U-channel profile along all pannel
edges. Ends can be mitered or cut as shown.
NOTE: Attach panel in the locations shown to hold
panel in place while attaching aluminum profile.
To prevent interfering with latch installation, do not
install fasteners near latch mounting hole located in
frame cross tube.

DOUBLE TWIN-WALL DOOR ASSEMBLY (continued) 15. With assistance, set assembled doors in door frame
and secure hinges to door jamb using one Tek screw
per hinge at this time. Locations of hinges may vary.
11. Mark plate mounting hole locations on panel and drill
a 5/16" hole through panel and door frame. Support
frame with a block of wood if needed.
12. Slide back mounting plate into position, align it with
mounting holes and front plate and secure using two
(2) ¼" x 3" bolts and lock nuts. Verify that latch turns
freely. Mount door latch guide (slotted plate) using
the remaining ¼" x 3" bolts. Position so latch handle
is level. See below.

16. Verify there is sufficient clearance along all door
edges to allow door to swing freely in the opening.
17. Test door operation, adjust hinges as needed, and
install remaining Tek screws.
18. Attach the 6" chain bolt to inside, upper corner of the
door without the handle (see X in drawing below).
13. After assembling doors, evenly space three (3)
hinges along door frame of each door and attach

a. Photo (right) shows end cap as attached to door
jamb. View shows assembly from the outside.
b. Cross section insert shows end cap (dashed line)
attached to inside/back of door jamb.
c. Dashed line below identifies where to attach
end cap profile. End cap extends beyond frame
members and into rough opening to stop door
in frame and to help seal gap between door and
frame.
20. At top and sides of door opening on inside, attach end
cap and allow it to extend below and into door opening.
ATTENTION: This profile acts as a stop for double
doors, which prevents undo stress on hinges. Consult
photos to the right.
21. After end cap profile is installed, install another section of the same end cap on the inside frame of the door that
includes chain latch.
NOTE: End cap serves as a stop for remaining door of double door assembly when doors are closed.
