6. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Preventive maintenance of underwater light 318.02 is limited to the operations below.
6.1 BOROSILICATE PORT-HOLE CLEANING
The cleaning of the Borosilicate port-hole of the underwater light must be carried out in a
periodic way in order to preserve heat exchange with sea water and lighting efficiency.
The outside of borosilicate port-hole (in contact with sea water) must be cleaned periodically.
The interior face of borosilicate port-hole will not be cleaned that proves to be necessary.
This operation requires the complete opening of the underwater light and must be realized
only in workshop.
Outside
To clean the outside of borosilicate port-hole using a soft rag and of soap water.
Interior face
This cleaning will be carried out in workshop during the bulb replacement.
6.2 CORROSION PROTECTION
A sacrificial anode in Zinc is installed on Stainless Steel Flange. It is intended to be
dissolved to protect other metallic components against marine corrosion.
It is necessary to replace sacrificial anode when it is dissolved.
6.3 REPLACEMENT OF THE BULB
The replacement of the bulb of the underwater light must be carried out imperatively before
the bulb does not arrive at the end of the lifetime. This operation requires the opening of the
projector and must be realized only in workshop.
Underwater light openning
1. Disconnect the electrical installation.
2. Rinse the underwater light with fresh water. Clean underwater light with soap water.
3. Unplug underwater connector.
4. Install underwater light on a table vertically (porthole on the top).
5. Unscrew the protective cage 8 screws (TH M6x20 SS) and remove protective cage
(Option)
