1General information
1.1 Introduction
This manual describes the use of the V-ACTOR II handpiece as assigned certain standard
accessory for the ShockMaster control units distributed by:

CAUTION
Before using the V-ACTOR II handpiece for the first time, please make sure you
have read and understood all information provided in this operating manual.
Familiarity with the information and instructions contained in this manual is
essential for ensuring efficient and optimal use of the system, for avoiding
hazards to personnel and equipment and for obtaining good treatment results.
Thorough knowledge of the information included in this manual will also enable
you to react promptly and effectively in the event of malfunctions or failures

1.2 V-ACTOR II
The V-ACTOR II is a “vibration-therapy” –handpiece, available as optional accessory for the
ShockMaster control units, which may be used to complement the radial shockwave therapy.
The V-ACTOR II handpiece allows the treatment of soft tissue with high frequency pulses.
Depending on the therapy to be performed, the handpiece can be equipped with the following
V-ACTOR 25mm applicator (1)
V-ACTOR 40mm applicator (2)

2Installation
2.1 Unpacking
Remove the handpiece from the packaging. Proceed with caution.
Check that all items are included in the packaging and that they are not damaged.
Contact your supplier or the manufacturer immediately if any items are missing or
damaged.
Retain the original packaging. It may prove useful for any later equipment transport.
2.2 Scope of the supply
V-ACTOR II with 2 applicators; 25mm and 40mm.
2.3 Handpiece connection
NOTE
Please also refer to the separate operating instructions of your control unit.
Connect the connector of the V-ACTOR II handpiece to the handpiece connector
provided on the respective control unit (1).
Make sure that the red spot on the connector matches the red spot on the socket.
Gently pushing the plug into the connector will immediately lock the access and will prevent
the connector from disengaging automatically when the cable is pulled.

Place the V-ACTOR into the V-actor holder, after installing the V-actor holder.

To break the connection, pull the outside of the plug body. This means the locking function
is initially released, then the plug is pulled out of the handpiece connector. (2)
2.3.1 Compatibility
The V-ACTOR II handpiece can be connected to the ShockMaster control units from the
manufacturer GymnaUniphy NV.
2.3.2 How to change the transmitters
To remove the 25 mm applicator, unscrew the black cap (1) from the handpiece and
pull out the applicator. (2)
Screw the new applicator on to the handpiece until finger tight.

3Operation
3.1 General warnings and safety information
See the manual of the ShockMaster control unit.
NOTE
The V-ACTOR II is suitable to connect to the ShockMaster control units.
3.2 V-ACTOR II treatment parameter settings
After connecting the V-ACTOR II handpiece, the control unit automatically recognizes V-ACTOR
II and operating mode will be available.
NOTE
For further information concerning display setup and menu navigation please refer to the
separate operating manual of the ShockMaster control unit.

3.3 Functional checks
Set the pressure to 2.0 bar
Reset the actual number of pulses on the parameter display of the operating
panel.
Release pulses with a frequency of 5Hz
Check that the triggered shocks are correctly counted on the treatment shock
counter of the ShockMaster control unit.
3.4 Standard operation
Connect the V-ACTOR II handpiece to the control unit
Set the pressure to an initial value of 2.0 bar and a frequency of 20Hz.
Start the V-ACTOR II treatment by pushing the trigger button.
3.5 Treatment
CAUTION
Always read chapter 3.1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS before starting a treatment.
NOTE
The use of maximal pressure level during treatment must not result in any uncomfortable pain
for the patient.
Treatment may be applied directly to the patient’s skin or with textile as
intermedium.
Perform V-ACTOR II treatment as described in the application recommendations.

4Cleaning
Regular cleaning of the system ensures perfect hygiene and operation of the ShockMaster
V-ACTOR II handpiece.
The handpiece, in particular the applicator, must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected
after each therapy session.
Remove dust with a dry cloth.
If necessary, remove stains or dirt with a damp cloth.
If required, clean the V-ACTOR with a non-aggressive soap solution or a 70% alcohol
solution or any other agent suitable for surface disinfection that does not harm the
material (lacquered sheet metal). In case of doubt, please consult an accepted list of
disinfectants (e.g. the VAH list of disinfectants)
Clean and disinfect the transmitter after each patient contact. Screw off the
transmitter screw cap and pull out the transmitter insert if necessary.
CAUTION
Flammable and volatile cleansing and disinfecting agents may
generate an explosive atmosphere.
Disconnect the handpiece from the control unit before starting any cleaning and
overhauling work.
ATTENTION
It is essential to prevent fluid penetrating into the unit or its tubing.

4.1 Disposal
When disposing of the V-ACTOR II handpiece, no special measures have to be observed.
Proceed in accordance with national regulations. At the end of its life time, the V-ACTOR II must
be disposed of as electronic waste.
4.2 Repair
Repair work on defective equipment must only be carried out by authorized personnel. Only
original spare parts may be used for this purpose.

8Warranty
8.1 Warranty
The V-ACTOR II handpiece is a wear and tear part. We will replace new handpieces that
have performed up to 1 million pulses at no charge to the customer upon the customer
furnishing adequate proof that the defect is due to defects in material or workmanship.
Transport costs and the risk of loss during the shipping of returned products shall be
borne by the customer.
Warranty claims will only be accepted if the handpiece is returned in its complete and
original state, cleaned and in the case (without accessories). Missing components will be
replaced subject to charge. Applicators are not covered by the handpiece’s warranty.
ATTENTION
Any unauthorized opening, repair or modification of the system by
unauthorized personnel will relieve the manufacturer of its liability and
responsibility for safe system operation. This will automatically void the
warranty even before the end of the warranty period.
