Observe the following instructions when deactivating the “fitvibexcel“ vibration device:
You may deliver the device including all accessory items to a waste disposal service provider specialized
on electronic products or capable of forwarding the device to such a specialist. In countries where the
suppliers are under the obligation of taking back deactivated electronic devices, you may of course
contact your supplier.
Most countries have by now introduced legislation which prevents consumers from simply throwing their
deactivated electronic products away alongside their ordinary household waste. In the event that you
yourself are responsible for the safe disposal of the system or that you prefer to do it on your own, we
would like to provide you with the following information:
The components of the “fitvibexcel“ vibration device can be classified as follows:
Vibration plate, handle with electronic unit, cable, straps and soft mat must be treated like electronic
scrap or light chemical waste. These components contain tin, copper, iron, a range of other metals and
different plastics. Most countries regard these types of products as light chemical waste. Please inform
yourself about the waste disposal regulations which apply in your country.
Packaging materials and instructions can by recycled. You may want to bring them to an appropriate
collecting point or add them to your household waste, depending on how your local waste disposal
system has been organized.
Everything said in this paragraph about the safe disposal of electronic articles applies equally to the
accessory items.

3. INSTRUCTIONS: WHAT TO DO BEFORE USE
3.1 Contraindications
Always verify before starting the vibration plate training whether the user is or might be suffering from one
or several of the following contraindications. If that turns out to be the case, you must not start the
vibration plate training. When in doubt, always consult an expert such as a GP, a medical specialist or the
"fitvibexcel" coach.
Contraindications:
- Acute infections
- Any acute arthropathy and arthrosis
- Acute migraine
- Acute rheumatoid arthritis
- Epilepsy
- Fresh wounds (incl. surgical wounds)
- Gallstones
- Arthropathy and arthrosis
- Joint implants (prostheses)
- Cardiovalvular defects
- Cardiac dysrhythmia
- Cardiovascular illnesses
- Metal or plastic implants such as pacemakers or coils
- Recent thromboses or possible thrombotic illnesses
- Kidney stones
- Acute back pain after fractures, herniated disks, spondylosis
- Pregnancy
- Severe diabetes
- Tumors
3.2 Important instructions for first-time users
Always check for contraindications, see 3.1.
Always wear shoes / trainers with a flexible rubber sole.
The first training session must be supervised by a qualified coach. See 3.4, First training session with the
“fitvibexcel“ vibration device.
Follow the instructions regarding initial position, the exercise itself and recommended rest times for
maximum effect and to prevent injuries.
Take a sugary sports drink or water app. 30 to 60 minutes before the training session.
For maximum effectiveness we recommend the use of the “fitvibexcel“ vibration device for both strength
and endurance training (aerobic exercises).
3.3 Use of the soft mat
When performing exercises on the plate where you support your weight with (for instance) your hands or
your gluteus rather than your feet, you should cover the plate with the soft mat before assuming the initial
training position.
3.4 First training session with the “fitvibexcel“ vibration device
Before starting your first training session, you should familiarize yourself briefly with the vibrating
sensation of the plate. You could, for instance, start by setting a low vibration frequency (such as 20 Hz)
and then step with one foot only on to the plate before you follow with the other foot and stand on tip-toes
with flexed knees in order to get used to the sensation. Always start by standing on the tip of your toes in
order to absorb the maximum possible amount of the vibration through your calves and thighs.
Never extend your limbs (arms or legs, depending on your position) to support your weight on the
vibration plate. If you extend your limbs, your muscles will be deprived of any opportunity to absorb the
vibration which is instead conducted through your bone structure straight into your skull. If you feel the
vibrations in your head, (voice and/or eyes being the best indicators), you have assumed the wrong
position and need to correct it immediately.
All abdominal exercises require the user to sit on the plate. It is crucial to familiarize oneself with the
vibrating sensation before trying this.

12 fitvib
e
xcel Gebrauchsanweisung, Version 01/2005
3.5 When to discontinue the exercise
Stop the training session at the first indicators of overfatigue in order to prevent injuries.
When the muscle uncontrollably flexes or contracts during static exercises.
When the rhythm of the movement becomes irregular and uneven during dynamic exercises.
At the first indication of dizziness and vertigo.
At the first indication of pain.
At the first indication of muscle tightness, sickness or nausea.

4. OPERATION
4.1 Introduction
The “fitvibexcel“ vibration device generates three-dimensional mechanical vibrations of the main vector in
vertical direction.
The “fitvibexcel“ vibration device is extremely easy to operate. The operating principle is clear and self-
evident.
The device can be operated with and without a time card control. Devices without such a time card
control unit can be easily identified: the actual time is indicated at the top of the display.
Devices with a time card control system request you (by flashing symbols in the display) to insert the time
card. Once you have inserted the card, your current time credits are displayed instead of the time.
On the last page of this manual, you will find a fold-out diagram of the device with all accessory items.
The numbers in the diagram and the text refer to the same items.
4.2 How to operate the “fitvibexcel“ vibration device
Turn the power on to display the screen as shown (11). Now simply use the start buttons (7) on the
control unit (6), the manual switch (22) or the foot switch (3) to start the programme.
The device is in the operating mode “free“. All parameters can be changed with the +/- buttons (9, 10, 12,
13). Use the “Intensity“ button (8) to select the right vibration amplitude ("Hoch (HIGH)" or "Niedrig
(LOW)". You can change the parameters both when the plate vibrates and when it is inactive.
Use the button “Operating Mode“ to switch from the default operating mode “FREE“ (free choice of
parameters) to either one of two fixed programmes. You can only do this when the machine is in rest
mode (push STOP first). You cannot switch operating modes while the plate is vibrating.
The actual time is shown in the top section of the display (see5.4 how to adjust the time).
If the function “Time Card“ has been activated, you must insert a time card (with time credits) into the
card slot (15) before you can start the device. You are prompted to do this by the animated card symbol
in the lower section of the display (11). Once you have done this, the time credits will be shown in the top
section of the display (instead of the time).
Fig. 4 - Display
4.3 Start-stop switch
The “fitvibexcel“ vibration device has been equipped with three start-stop switches, all of them capable of
starting and stopping the vibration independently from one another:
two orange-coloured start-stop buttons (7) are located on the control unit;
one start-stop foot switch (3) is located on the handle frame at the level of the vibration plate;
the manual switch (22) is connected by cable with the control unit.
Each one of the three start-stop buttons can serve to start and stop the vibration at any moment,
independently from the position.

14 fitvib
e
xcel Gebrauchsanweisung, Version 01/2005
4.4 Use of handstraps and footstraps
Handstraps and footstraps can be used to transfer the vibration to certain sections of the body as shown
in the illustration on the example of the ischiocrural muscles ("hamstrings"). The non-elastic straps serve
to convey the vibrations to the muscles in question. Depending on the exercise, the straps can be
fastened to the vibration plate in different places (20) and in different ways. The straps have been
provided with reference lines in different colours, allowing the user to adjust the length of one strap to the
length of the other.
4.5 Vibration training parameters
Vibration frequency: 20 - 60 Hz
Intensity (amplitude): high / low
Active time: 0 - 180 sec
Operating modes: free, vibe 1, vibe 2
4.6 Active time
Active time is the time it takes to perform an exercise (vibration on).
4.7 Operating modes
Use the operating mode button (14) to select any of the following modes:
4.7.1 Operating mode "free"
Under this operating mode, you can freely determine all parameters shown on the display and freely
change or select any of the values (see Technical data).
4.7.2 Operating mode "vibe 1"
Under this operating mode, the vibration frequency will automatically increase – in intervals of 5 sec. and
steps of 5 Hz at a time – from 20 Hz up to 60 Hz and then return to 20 Hz in the same way.
4.7.3 Operating mode "vibe 2"
Under this operating mode, the vibration frequency will automatically increase – in intervals of 7.5 sec.
and steps of 5 Hz at a time – from 20 Hz up to 60 Hz and then return to 20 Hz in the same way.
4.8 More effort for better results
You may increase the required effort in a number of different ways such as:
Increasing the vibration frequency
Extending the active periods
Shortening the rest periods
Increasing the intensity from low to high
Increasing the number of reps
You can also increase the required effort by making the exercises more difficult to perform. You can
achieve this by:
- selecting more difficult / more complicated starting positions
- changing from static to dynamic exercises
- performing the dynamic exercises at a higher speed (faster rhythm)
- enlarging the stretched muscle section

5. CHIP-CARD BASED OPERATION OF THE
FITVIBEXCEL
If the chip card reader has been activated in the fitvibexcel (see 5.4), you will need to use time cards to
operate the device.
A message in the display will ask you to insert the chip card.
The chip card reader (15) is centrally located at the bottom of the control unit (6). The fitvibexcel chip
card can be easily inserted (following the direction of the arrows) into the chip card reader (15) until it
gently engages. The chip itself has been placed on the front side of the fitvibexcel chip card.
The fitvibexcel chip card reader only accepts personalized fitvibexcel chip cards.
The chip cards can be charged with a certain number of minutes. This system limits and restricts the
active vibration time of the fitvibexcel .
5.1 Possible error messages in the top section of the screen :
E53: The card is dirty, damaged or has been inserted the wrong way around.
E52: Card of another system or wrong PIN (if in use)
E59: Card cannot be read, card type number has been destroyed.
If you receive other messages, you should contact your supplier or a customer service engineer.
5.2 Use of a secret PIN code:
If you want to secure your device against unauthorized use, you can enter a PIN code for your fitvibexcel
chip card. Any such PIN code can only be entered once!
For this purpose, use the (red) configuration card to enter a four-digit PIN code into the recharge unit.
This PIN code will be automatically applied to all cards on the occasion of their first insertion into the
recharger. It is not possible to subsequently change or modify this number on the cards!
The card reading unit of the fitvibexcel will automatically integrate this PIN code when a chip card is
inserted for the first time into the new device.
You may choose any PIN code number between 0001 and 9999.
Important: The fitvibexcel chip cards and the card recharging unit are supplied with a default
setting of 0000 and can be immediately used without any PIN code.
If you need to change your PIN code for a substantial reason, you will not be able to use any of the
previously issued fitvibexcel chip cards. Only the manufacturer is able to neutralize them. Please contact
your distributor in such an event.
You can delete the PIN code in the device as follows:
-Insert the (red) configuration card to display the configuration menu.
-Browse through the menu items by using “time+” and “time -“.
-Select menu item “Cd”.
-Simultaneously push the “Frequency +” and “Frequency –“ buttons (pushing the button
