Firmware Upgrade Procedure
This document will take you through each step of the program installation
for the hähnel MODUS 360RT firmware upgrade procedure.
• The Firmware installation and firmware upgrade can only be
done with a Windows PC
• You will need a USB to Micro USB data cable to transfer data

(1.1) Download and save the zip file
for Speedlight MODUS 360RT to
a Windows PC (available from
the relevant product page on
www.hahnel.ie - ensure that you
choose the correct brand)

(1.2) Connect the MODUS 360RT to your PC
as shown below – you must connect
the MODUS 360RT before you begin
the upgrade procedure
* The USB to Micro USB cable must be data-
transmission compatible
* The MODUS 360RT power switch must be in
the OFF position & the MODUS battery removed
(1.3) Use the Unzip program on your
computer to open the zip file which
you have downloaded. You will see
4 language versions of the upgrade
procedure and the upgrade file.
Confirm that the upgrade file is the
correct version for your product.
(1.4) Your PC windows version may ask for
permission to start the installation.
Proceed and allow the program to
start the installation procedure.

(2.1) The Welcome screen is the first step of the
installation. Read it carefully and press Next to
proceed
(2.2) Read the licence agreement carefully and then
click on ‘I agree’ and press Next
(2.3) Enter your user Name and Company (optional)
and press Next

Enter your name

(2.4) Allow the Program to install the MODUS 360RT
Firmware folder on your PC. Press Next.
(2.5) Allow the Program to install a Shortcut Folder
MODUS 360RT Firmware on your PC.
(2.6) Program is now ready to do the installation.
Press Next.

(2.7) You have successfully installed the Firmware
program. Press Finish.
(2.8) The USB Driver required to connect the
Speedlight to the PC will now be installed.
Press Next to proceed.
(2.9) Press Finish to complete the Driver installation.
(2.10) A Shortcut Icon MODUS 360RT Firmware will
now appear on your PC Desktop.

(3.1) Click the MODUS 360RT Firmware Icon on your
desktop.
Firmware Update
Step 3
You are now ready to start the Firmware update of
your MODUS 360RT.
(3.2) The Hahnel Firmware Update program will now
open. Check once again that you have installed
the correct brand that matches your MODUS
360RT Speedlight. The new firmware version
number is also shown.
(3.3) Press Start to begin the firmware update.
Do not disconnect the Speedlight during this
process.

(3.4) You have successfully completed the new
firmware upgrade to you MODUS 360RT.
Click on Exit to end.
If any error messages appear on the
screen, please click the Help button for
more info.
Note
(3.5) You may now remove the MODUS 360RT
from the PC. To check that you have the new
firmware on the MODUS 360RT, carry out the
following steps:
• Insert charged HLX-MD2 battery
• Turn ON the MODUS 360RT
• Press and hold the TEST button on the
bottom left corner. Keep pressed while you
switch on the power button. The new firmware
number will be displayed on the LCD.
