Read all of the instructions before using thisappliance. When usingthis appliance, alwaysexercise
basic safety precautions,including the following:
1) Save theseinstructions- The safety and operation instructions should be retainedfor future
reference.
2) All warningson the appliance and in theoperating instructions should be followed.
3) Cleaning- Unplug TV from the wall outletbefore cleaning. Do not useliquid cleaners or aerosol
cleaners.
Use only adamp cloth for cleaning.
Exceptions: Some productsare designed for uninterrupted service, eg. Cable TV converters.
Unplugging such accessoriesmay result in loss of authorizationcodes. In such cases, please follow
instructions for unpluggingsuch devices as provided by theaccessories manufacturer.
4)Attachments-Do not use attachments not recommendedby the TV manufacturer as theymay cause
hazards.
5) Waterand moisture-Do not place this TV near water, for example,near a bathtub, wash bowl,
kitchen sink, orlaundry tub, in a wet basement,or near a swimming pool.
6)Accessories - Donot place this TV on anunstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket ortable. The TV may
fall causing seriousinjury to someone, and serious damageto the appliance. Use only witha cart,
stand, tripod, bracket,or table recommended by the manufacturer`s,or sold with the TV. Any
mounting of theappliance should follow the manufacturer`s instructionsand should use a
mounting accessory recommendedby the manufacturer. An appliance and cart combination should
be moved withcare. Quick stops, excessive force, anduneven surface may cause the applianceand

appliance dealer orlocal power company. For TV`s intended tooperate from batterypower or other
source, refer tothe operation instructions.
9)Grounding or polarization- This TV is equipped witha polarized alternating current line plug(a
plug having oneblade wider than the other is).This plug will fit into thepower outlet only one way.
This is safetyfeature. If you are unable toinsert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversingthe plug. If
the plug shouldstill fail to fit, contact yourelectrician to replace your outlet. Don`tdefeat the safety
purpose of thepolarized plug.
10)Power cordprotection - Power supply cordsshould be routed so that theyare not likely to be
walked on orpinched by items placed upon oragainst them, paying particular attention tocords or
plugs, convenience receptacle,and the point where they exitfrom the appliance.

antenna or cablesystem is grounded so as to
provide some protectionagainst voltage surges
and built upstatic charges. Article 810 of the
National Electrical Code,ANSI/NEPA NO.70,
provided information withrespect to proper
grounding of themast and supporting structure,
grounding of thelead in wire to antenna
discharge unit, sizeof grounding conductors,
location of antennadischarge unit, connection
to grounding electrodes,and requirement for
the grounding electrode.(Fig. A)

12)Lightning precaution -For added protection for this TV receiver duringa lightning stormor when it
is left unattendedfor long periodof time, unplug it from the wall outletand disconnect the
antenna or cablesystem. This will prevent damageto the TVdue to lightingand power line surges.
13)Object and liquidentry - Never pushobjects of any kind into thisTV through openingsas they
may touch dangerousvoltage point orshort out parts that could resultin a fireor electric shock.
Avoid spilling liquid of anykind on the TV.
14)Servicing - Do not attempt to service the TV by yourself, as openingor removing covers may
expose you todangerous voltage orother hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
15)Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this TV fromthe wall outletand refer servicing to qualified
service personnel under the following conditions:
a. When the power supplycord or plugis damaged or frayed.

Video Set Up:
Pressing MENU button once will bring the VideoSet Up menuon the TV.

Follow the procedure below toadjust the
picture quality ofyour choice:
1.Press the CH(+) and CH(-) button to go
up and downthe menu.
2.Press the VOL(+) and VOL(-) button to
increase and decreasethe level toyour

Adjustment of Picture Quality:
To adjust the picture qualityfrom the factory presetread the following:
Contrast: By increasingthe level, it will adjust white areas ofpicture and bydecreasing the level ,
it will adjustblack areas ofpicture.
Brightness: By increasingthe level, it will add more light todark parts ofthe picture and by
decreasing the level, it will add more darkto light partsof the picture.
Color: By increasingthe level, it will adjust the low and the high levelof the picture.
Sharpness: By increasingthe level, it will show cleaner and clearerimages and bydecreasing
the level, it will make picture smoother.
Tint: Youcan adjust thetint of thepicture by going into picture setup menu. By decreasing the
level, it will give red tint to skincolor and byincreasing the color it will givegreen tint to
skin color.

Black Stretch functionis on thescreen automatically increases the contrast range.
VNR: Press VOL (+/-) buttonsto turn theVNR function on or off. VNR isa term forVideo
Noise Reduction, a built-in device on theset that reduces video noise interference
so the vieweris assured aclear picture.
AVL: AutomaticVolume Limit control reduces effectof large volumechanges such as when the
ads come on. Press VOL(+) button orVOL(-) button toset it ON or OFF.
C.Caption: Press VOL (+/-) buttonsto select theClosed Caption options. Closed
Captioning helps thehearing impaired withthe broadcast program, as wellas helping
children learn howto read. A built indecoder displays theaudio portion ofa program
as text onthe screen whenthis option isselected.
OFF: When OFF is displayedon TV itmeans C.Caption is turned off.
CC1: When CC1displays on TV itmeans C.Caption is turned on.
CC2 to CC4:For other modes of video related broadcast information.
T1: For program guide andother information displayed by broadcasters.
(This blocks alarge portion ofthe picture on your screen).

The "Default Password" preset by the manufacturer is"0000" . Ifyou want to change

easily remembered andset. Once you set password for a particularchannel, that
channel will beblocked. This channel can onlybe accessed withthe password.
LOCK Menu
AV LOCK:When it is set ON,you can not use the AV.
PROGRAM LOCK:Whenit is set ON,the current channel is locked,you can not see
the program ofthis channel.

U.S. TV Program Ratings
NR: Not Rated-this means that programs arenot rated or rating does notapply.
TV-Y:For all children-this type of rated programsare designed fora very young audience,
including children fromages 2-6.
TV-Y7:Directedfor older children- this type of rated programsmay include mildphysical
violence, or may frighten childrenunder the ageof 7.
TV-G:General Audience-this type of rated programscontains little orno violence, no strong
language, and little or nosexual dialogue andsituations.
TV-PG:ParentalGuidance Suggested-this type of rated programs may containlimited violence,
some suggestive sexualdialogue and situations, and rarelanguage.
