The LP gas supply cylinder used must be:
1. C onstructed and marked in accordance with the U.S.D epartment of Transportation (D .O . T.) Specif ications f or
LP Gas C ylinders, or the Standard f or C ylinders, Spheres and Tubes f or Transportation of D angerous Goods
and C ommission, C A N/C SA -B339 as applicable.
2. Prov ided with a listed ov erf ill prev ention dev ice.
3. Prov ided with cylinder connection dev ice compatible with the connection f or the appliance.
A lways place the appliance on a f irm and lev el surf ace.
Solid f uels shall not be burned in this gas appliance.
The appliance shall be used only outdoors in a well-v entilated space and shall not be used in a building,
garage or any other enclosed area.
When in use, keep the appliance area clear with at least 48 in. (121.9 cm) on the sides and 72 in. (182.9 cm)
on top away f rom combustible materials, gasoline and other f lammable liq uid and v apors.
D o not use the appliance under combustible surf aces. C ertain items or materials, when stored under the
appliance or nearby, will be subj ected to radiant heat and could be damaged. Inspect the hose assembly
and burner prior to each use. If there is ev idence of excessiv e abrasion or wear,
or if the hose or burner is damaged, it must be replaced by an appropriate part f rom the manuf acturer.
Inspect the gas connections of the appliance prior to each use. D o not operate the unit if
there is a gas leak. H av e the appliance inspected annually by a q ualif ied serv ice person.
The pressure regulator and hose assembly prov ided with the appliance must be used.
The replacement part must be the same as specif ied by the manuf acturer.To attach the LP gas
cylinder please ref er to the " Gas C onnection" section on page 13 and perf orm the leak check on
page 14.

A ny guard or other protectiv e dev ice remov ed f or serv icing the appliance must be replaced prior
to operating the appliance.
Installation and repair should be done by a q ualif ied serv ice person. The appliance should be inspected bef ore
use and at least annually by a q ualif ied serv ice person. M ore f req uent cleaning may be req uired as necessary.
It is imperativ e that the control compartment, burners, and circulating air passageways of the appliance are
kept clean.
D o not use the appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a q ualif ied technician to inspect
the appliance and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been under water.
LP gas supply cylinder to be used must be constructed and marked in accordance with the specif ications
f or LP gas cylinders of the U. S. D epartment of Transportation (D O T). See page 15.
The cylinder system must be arranged f or v apor withdrawal and the cylinder must include a collar to protect
the cylinder v alv e.
Use only 20 lb (9 kg) LP gas cylinders.
D o not burn wood or any other materials in this appliance.
The burner must be replaced prior to the appliance being put into operation if it is ev ident that the burner is
damaged. The replacement burner must be the same as the part specif ied by manuf acturer.
To clean the appliance, including the burner, please ref er to the " C leaning and C learing" section on page 16.
D o not try to cool glass beads with water soon af ter shutting of f the gas appliance or they will break.
D o not use the gas appliance in strong wind and/or heav y rain.

Please follow the above instructions
to replace the battery when needed.
If the knob (#5) is not properly threaded to the
outlet of the cylinder, gas leakage can occur.
U nscrew the battery box and insert the negative electrode side
of the battery into the bottom of the battery box .
O ver the battery with the plastic cover. (Fig.4 )
Connect the pressure regulator (# 4 ) to the tank by rotating
the knob (# 5 ) clockwise until it is fully secured. (Fig.5 )
M ake sure there is no leakage or damage
Please refer to the " L eak Check" information and instructions
on how to check for hose or burner damage on page 14 .
Close the front access door. (Fig.6 )
R emove the lid (B) and place rocks (H ) into the fire bowl, making sure
to keep the igniter block (# 6 ) open. (Fig.7 )

WARNING:
Do not operate if there is a kink in the flexible gas hose, as this could lead to a gas leak.
LIGHTING
1. Make sure control knob (#2) is on the “OFF” position on the control panel.
2. Open access doors. Turn on gas cylinder valve (#7) to fully opened position.

5. Adjust flame to desired level with the control knob (#2).
WARNING:
Lighting the appliance improperly could lead to unsafe conditions.
Operation
Push and turn the knob (#2) to “HIGH”.
Hold ignitor (#3) to light the burner. Release the control knob (#2) after 45 seconds.
If there is no fire turn the control knob (#2) to “OFF”, wait 5 minutes, and repeat from step 3 on.

LEAK CHECK
WARNING
Do not use an open flame to check for leaks.
Do not smoke during testing.
Do not test indoors.
A leak check must be performed whenever the gas cylinder is replaced.
NOTE
Make sure the gas control knob (#2 ) is on the “OFF” position. Open access doors.
Make sure the gas cylinder is correctly and securely connected to the pressure regulator, with a tight fit.
Turn on the gas cylinder valve (#7). Apply 50% soap and 50% water solution to the gas hose
at connections between the knob (#5) and the gas cylinder.
If there is a leak, you will see bubbles form. In the case of a leak, turn off the gas connections.
Reconnect the gas hose and retest. If the leak persists, consult the customer service center for assistance.
If the connection is sound, continue to the next step.

You can use soapy water to check if there is gas leakage at the outlet. (Fig.11)
Turn the gas cylinder valve (#7) off when the gas appliance is not in use.
Do not try to cool glass beads with cold water right after shutting down the gas appliance or they will crack.
Gas Cylinder Requirement
have a listed overfilling prevention device; and have a cylinder connection device
compatible with the connection for the appliance.
NOTE:
Cylinder is not included in this unit.

To enjoy outstanding performance of your appliance for years, make sure to perform
the following maintenance activities on a regular basis.
Keep exterior surfaces clean.
Use warm soapy water for cleaning. Never use flammable, corrosive or abrasive cleaners.
Clean the holes in the burner using a swab that is moistened with soapy water.
Keep the burner holes unobstructed by using a heavy-duty pipe cleaner. The burner must be dry before
normal use. Clean annually. Compressed air may help clear away smaller particles.
While washing your unit, be sure to keep the area around the burner and pilot assembly dry at all times.
If the gas control knob (#2) is exposed to water in any way, DO NOT try to use it. It must be replaced.
After extended non-operation, the unit should be inspected for spiders, spider webs and insects. Spiders and insects can nest in burner or orifices.
Air flows must be unobstructed. Keep controls, burner and circulating air passageways clean.
