Electrode usage guidelines & Calibration tips
• Remove protective cap and rinse with water to eliminate salt build up.
• Check correct electrolyte level. Refill when level falls below ½”
from the fill hole opening. Keep the fill hole open (1) during
calibration and measurement.
• To refresh the the electrode, soak in HI70300 Storage solution
for at least 30 minutes.
• Keep the glass bulb (3) and junction (2) hydrated to maintain a
quick response time.
Store with a few drops of storage solution in the protective cap.
• Keep the junction (2) immersed during calibration/measurement.
Calibration tips
• Ensure electrode connection to correct meter input.
• Rinse with the calibration solution intended for calibration next.
Discard rinsing solution.
• Place electrode and temperature sensor in calibration solution.
Use a rinse beaker and a separate calibration beaker for each buffer.
• On first use, tap Clear Calibration to clear all buffers and start new.
pH measurement tips
• Only work with recently calibrated electrodes.
• Use the arm holder for electrode transfer in and out of containers.
• Rinse with purified water between samples.
• Pour two beakers of sample: use one to rinse the sensor and the
second for measurement (limit contamination).
• Gently stir the sample to ensure a representative measurement.
• Keep the fill solution topped off to permit the fill solution flow
through the ceramic junction and maintain a stable reference signal.
• Record measured data once the reading is stable.
