- Wenn die Netzanschlussleitung dieses Gerät beschädigt
wird, muss sie durch den Hersteller oder seinen Kunden-
dienst oder eine ähnlich qualifizierte Person ersetzt
werden, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
- Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren und darüber
sowie von Personen mit verringerten physischen, sensori-
schen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfah-
rung und Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt

- Dieses Gerät ist nur zum Schneiden von Tierhaaren vorgesehen.
Das Gerät ist nur für den Einsatz in privaten Haushalten konzipiert.

8. Unterkamm so verschieben, daß
a) der rechte Eckzahn des Oberkamms nicht über
den rechten Eckzahn des Unterkamms hinaus-
ragt
b) die Spitzen des Oberkamms ca. 2 mm vor der
Abschrägung der Zähne des Unterkamms ste-
hen (siehe Skizzen)

10. Reguliermutter so weit anziehen, bis ein Gegen -
druck spürbar ist und dann eine 0,75-Umdrehung
im Uhrzeigersinn weiterdrehen ( arkierung beach-

rend der Schur Einstellkorrekturen, nach oben
oder unten, erforderlich werden (siehe Punkt 10).

Zu festes Anziehen der Reguliermutter führt nicht zu einer verbesserten Scherleistung, es trägt vielmehr
zu einer erhöhten Wärmeentwicklung und zum vorzeitigen Verschleiß der Kammplatten bei.
Reinigung der Kammplatten
Netzstecker ziehen!
Beim Entfernen der Kammplatten kann der Exzenterstein
aus dem Getriebekopf hinausfallen (nur Type 895..).
Nach jedem Gebrauch der Schermaschine müssen die
Kammplatten vom Getriebekopf demontiert, gesäubert
und neu geölt werden. Schmutz und Haar reste vom
Getriebekopf entfernen. Anschließend kann die erneute
ontage der Kammplatten erfolgen. Beachten Sie hierzu
bitte den Punkt „Richtiges Einstellen der Kammplatten“.
Exzentersteinauswechslung (Type 895..)
1. Netzstecker ziehen
2. Demontage der Kammplatten (wie vorbeschrieben)
3. Exzenterstein liegt nun im vorderen Teil des Getrie-
bekopfes frei
4. it einem Bleistift das Lüfterrad durch den Lüftungs-
schlitz an der Unterseite der Schermaschine so lange
drehen, bis der Exzenterstein in der Öffnung im
Getriebekopf voll sichtbar ist
5. Exzenterstein abziehen und durch einen neuen
ersetzen.
Demontage des Getriebekopfes
1. Netzstecker ziehen
2. Schrauben rechts und links am Getriebe kopf lösen
3. Getriebekopf nach vorn abziehen.
Wartung/Lüftung des Motors/Motor schutz -
schalter
Der elektrische Antrieb der Scher maschine ist weitest-
gehend wartungsfrei. Nur die Kohlebürsten müssen
nach einer Betriebszeit von ca. 300 – 400 Stunden
ausgewechselt werden. Die Auswechslung sollte auf
jeden Fall von einem autorisierten Fachhändler oder

von HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ vorgenommen werden,
da das otorgehäuse ohne Spezialwerkzeug nicht geöff-
net werden kann.
Während der Betriebszeit wird der otor handwarm. Die
Temperatur am Getriebekopf ist normalerweise etwas
höher. Sollte der otor/Getriebekopf heiß werden, kann
die Ursache hierfür sein: mangelnde Ölung der Kamm-
platten, stumpfe oder zu fest angezogene Kammplatten.
Bei zu starker Belastung der Schermaschine schaltet der
integrierte otorschutzschalter den otor ab. Bevor Sie
den otorschutzschalter am hinteren Teil der aschine
wieder hineindrücken, aschine ausschalten und die
Einstellung bzw. den Zustand der Kamm platten überprü-
fen. Nach kurzer Wartezeit bzw. Abkühlung des otors
kann der otor schutz schalter wieder hineingedrückt
werden.

komplett mit Scherkämmen zur Prüfung an einen autorisierten Fachhändler oder an HAUPTNER/
HERBERHOLZ eingesandt werden.
Reparaturservice
Sollte an Ihrer HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ Schermaschine
ein angel auftreten, schicken Sie die aschine zur
Reparatur an einen autorisierten Fachhändler oder an
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ ein. Nur so wird gewähr-
leistet, daß die Instandsetzung fachgerecht und mit
Original-HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ-Ersatzteilen erfolgt.
Alle HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ Scherkämme wurden mit
einem Spezialschliff versehen und dürfen deshalb
nur von einem autorisierten Fachhändler oder von
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ nachgeschliffen werden.
Senden Sie defekte Maschinen nur komplett ein (Maschine mit Kammplatten)

Dear Customer,
Please read these operating instructions carefully before
using your HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ shearing machine.
They contain everything you need to know about the
machine itself and the associated
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ accessories. These operating
instructions are only valid for the supplied product.
Important!
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ animal shearing machines
may only be used for shearing animals. Do not shear
perspiring or wet animals. Never touch the moving
blade. Before carrying out maintenance work on the
shearing machine, isolate the machine from the supply.
Protect the machine against moisture and store in dry
rooms.
Initial Use
Before connecting the shearing machine to the supply,
check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage
shown on the type plate on the motor housing. The slide
switch must be located in the position ‘0’. The blades
(upper and lower blade) were correctly adjusted at the
works, so that they do not require any adjustment prior
to initial use. Never switch on the shearing machine with
loose or missing blades, since this can damage the gear
head or the blades. In the interest of safety, check that
the blades are tightly seated; the upper and lower blade
must not be loose (see ‘correct adjustment of blades’).
The shearing machine can now be switched on (set slide
switch to position ‘I’).
iling the blades
To protect the blades against excessive heating, they
must be sufficiently oiled several times during the
shearing process. For this purpose, it is recommended to
use a motor oil or HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ special
motor oil. Do not use sewing machine, bone or other
oils! If the machine cutting speed should reduce during
the shearing process, this is usually a sign of insufficient
oiling of the blades. Interrupt the shearing process
briefly to apply a some oil to the moving blades. Do not
immerse blades or the machine in liquid. Regular,
sufficient oiling will extend cutting performance and also
the life of the blades. Blunt blades can be returned to
our works for resharpening.
Removing blades (type 895..)
1. Isolate the machine from the supply
2. Undo the adjusting nut until you can turn the
hammer head of the guide screw
3. Turn the hammer head of the guide screw in the
oblong hole of the lower comb
Fitting and correct adjustment of blades
(type 895..)
Ensure that no hair and no dirt are present on the
cutting surface of the blades. Only fit cleaned and oiled
blades.
1. Isolate the machine from the supply
2. Place the upper blade with eccentric cover in the
eccentric block (in gear head); adjust the eccentric
block appropriately beforehand.
3. Apply some oil to the cutting surface.
4. Place the lower blade with bores in the gear head
guide (groove in lower blade must rest on cutting
surface of upper blade).
5. Push the hammer head of the guide screw through
the oblong hole of the lower comb and turn through
90°.
6. Tighten adjusting nut until it is resting on the spring
with touching combs.
7. Adjust the standard setting by turning the nut
1,25 turns clockwise (note marking). Depending on
the condition of the fur, the machine might require
more or less tightening adjustment.
Removing blades (Type 896..)
1. Isolate the machine from the supply
2. Loosen regulating nut (do not fully unscrew)
3. Loosen blade retaining screws on underside of
gear head
4. Withdraw lower blade outwards
5. Remove upper blade
Fitting and correct adjustment of blades
(type 896...)
1. Isolate the machine from the supply
2. Turn the machine 180° (blade retaining screws
point upwards)
3. Turn the impeller through the vent slot with a
pencil until the fork guide bracket moves to the
outermost left corner of the gear head.
4. Fit the upper blade in the fork finger and fork clip
5. Fit the lower blade
6. Lightly tighten the blade retaining screws
7. Fix the lower blade with the index finger and turn
the machine again
8. ove the lower blade, so that
a) the right corner tooth of the upper blade does
not protrude over the right corner tooth of the
lower blade

b) the tips of the upper blade are located about 2
mm in front of the bevel of the teeth of the
lower blade (see sketch)
9. Tighten the blade retaining screws.
10. Tighten the regulating nut until resistance is
noticeable, then turn a further 0,75 turn clockwise
(note marking).
11. During the shearing process, readjustments may
be necessary in accordance with the fur condition
(see item 10).

If the machine becomes too hot, the blades have to be re-adjusted.

Note:
Excessive tightening of the regulating nut will not improve shearing performance but will rather contribute to excessive
heat development and premature wear of the blades.
Cleaning the blades
Isolate the machine from the supply!
When removing the blades, the eccentric block can fall
out of the gear head (only type 895..).After each use
of the shearing machine, the blades must be removed
from the gear head, cleaned and oiled. Dirt and hair
residues must be removed from the gear head. The
blades can subsequently be refitted. See chapter ‘correct
adjustment of blades’.
Eccentric block replacement (type 895..)
1. Isolate the machine from the supply!
2. Removing blades (As described above)
3. The eccentric block is now lying free in the front part
of the gear head
4. Turn the impeller through the vent slot on the
underside of the shearing machine with a
pencil until the eccentric block is fully visible in the
opening in the gear head
5. Remove the eccentric block and replace with a new
one
Dismantling the gear head
1. Isolate the machine from the supply!
2. Loosen screws on the right and left on the gear head
3. Withdraw the gear head
Maintenance/motor ventilation/motor
protective switch
The electric drive of the shearing machine is
maintenance-free to a large extent. Only the carbon
brushes must be replaced after an operating period of
about 300 – 400 hours. The brushes should be replaced
in any event by an authorised dealer or

Only return roken machines completely (machine including lades)!
since the motor housing cannot be opened without
special tools. The motor becomes warm during
operation. The temperature at the gear head is normally
slightly higher. If the motor/gear head should become
hot, this can be due to insufficient oiling of the blades,
blunt blades, overtightened blades.
If the shearing machine is overloaded, it is switched off
by the integrated motor protective switch. Before
pushing in the motor protective switch located at the
rear of the machine, switch off the machine and check
the adjustment and condition of the blades. After a short
waiting time or when the motor has cooled down, the
motor protective switch can be pushed in again.

Repair service
If your HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ shearing machine
should become faulty, return the machine to an
authorised dealer or HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ for repair.
This ensures correct repair with original
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ parts.
All HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ shear blades have been
specially ground and should therefore only be
resharpened by an authorised dealer or
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOLZ.

Warranty conditions
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOL grants a warranty to you as
the owner of the shearing machine, which exceeds the
legally required warranty term. The term of the warranty
is 2 years and begins from the day of purchase. The
warranty is only accepted upon presentation of the filled
in warranty certificate. Please ensure that you receive a
completely filled in warranty certificate when you
purchase your shearing machine.
We undertake free of charge removal of all defects,
which are caused by material or manufacturing defects
within the term of the warranty.
Repairs have to be undertaken in our works or by
authorised persons. If we are to undertake the repair
work, then the complete shearing machine including
shearing blades has to be returned postage prepaid to
our works.
Damage caused by overload, improper use and/or
maintenance and non-observance of the operating
instructions is excluded from the warranty. This applies
similarly to damage attributed to normal wear and tear
as well as to the cable.
The term of warranty is not extended for products
repaired under the warranty.
Parts replaced as part of repairs under the warranty pass
into our ownership.
Repairs undertaken by unauthorised persons will
invalidate the warranty.
In case of justified complaints, the product will be
repaired or replaced at our discretion excluding all other
claims. The purchaser’s right of recission, reduction or
replacement delivery is excluded. The purchaser is
entitled to reduction (reduction of the purchase price) or
recission (cancellation of the sales contract) if we are
unable to remedy possible defects within a reasonable
time. Claims for damages are excluded unless they are
attributed to intent and gross negligence on our part or
on the part of our authorised representatives.
Costs which incur as a consequence of unauthorised use
of our customer service will be charged to the customer.
The products are subject to technical changes.
HAUPTNER/HERBERHOL is constantly optimizing its
products in line with technical advances.
We therefore reserve the right to undertake technical
changes.
Disposal of Old Electrical & Electronic Equipment
(Applicable in the European Union and other European countries
with separate collection systems)
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this products shall not be treated
as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the
recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly,
you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health,
