Limited One-Year Warranty
Your steam inhaler is guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects for a
period of one year from the date of purchase under normal use. This limited
warranty does not apply to use in any clinical or commercial applications. If
the unit fails to operate during the warranty period, please call our Customer
Care Help Line at 800-622-4714 and we will try to resolve the issue as soon as
possible. If the warrantor determines the unit failed to operate due to a
manufacturing defect, the unit will be replaced at the option of the
warrantor. A return shipping and handling fee may be applied for all returns.
Replacement of the unit is the sole remedy under this limited warranty. This
warranty gives you specific legal rights, which vary from state to state. As a
condition of this warranty, the warranty registration must be completed
within 10 days of the purchase date.
This warranty constitutes the warrantor’s only responsibility and obligation to
replace materials or components. We make no other express or implied
warranties, arising by operation of law or otherwise, or any warranty of
merchantability or fitness for a particular use or purpose whether or not the
use or purpose has been disclosed to the warrantor in specifications,
drawings or otherwise, and whether or not the warrantor’s products are
specifically designed and/or manufactured by the warrantor for the buyer’s
use or purposes, except for the limited warranty stated above. The warrantor
will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or
punitive damages or other loss, including, but not limited to, damage to or
loss of other property or equipment and personal injuries, whether to
purchaser or others. The warrantor shall in no event be liable to the
purchaser for any amount in excess of the cost of replacement of the unit.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a HealthSmart Kids
Steam Inhaler. With proper care and use, your
Steam Inhaler will provide you with many years
of therapeutic relief.
This unit operates on standard AC power.
Treatments are delivered quickly, safely and
conveniently with the use of tap water.
We encourage you to thoroughly read this
guidebook to learn about the features of
your Steam Inhaler.

Product Cautions
Please use general safety precautions when
operating your Steam Inhaler.
This unit should be used only for (1) its
intended purpose as described in this
guidebook, and (2) with medications only under
the supervision and instruction of your physi-
cian.
READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE USING

until the unit has been examined and
repaired.

heater tank.

outlet before cleaning, filling and after
each use.

liquids to the water heater tank.
Operating Cautions
•Closeadultsupervisionishighly
recommended when this unit is used by
invalids or children.
•Keepyoureyesawayfromtheoutputof
vapor mist.
•Themaximumcapacityofthewaterheater
tank . is 25 mL and should not be overfilled.
•Themaximumcapacityofthe
armomatherapy tank is 60 mL and should
not be overfilled.
•Donotusethisunitwhileoperatinga
vehicle.
•Ifanydiscomfortorabnormalityoccurs,
stop using the unit immediately.
Storage Cautions
•Donotstoretheunitindirectsunlight,
high temperature or humidity.
•Keeptheunitoutofreachofsmall
children.
•Alwayskeeptheunitunpluggedandempty
while not in use.
Cleaning Cautions
•Checkthemask,extensiontube,tank,
suction tube and any other optional
components before each use.
Dirtyorwornpartsshouldbereplaced.
•Donotimmersetheunitinwater.Itmay
damage the unit.
•Disconnecttheunitfromtheelectrical
outlet before cleaning.
•Cleanallnecessarypartsaftereachuse
as instructed in this guidebook.

Operating Your Inhaler
Follow the cleaning instructions in this
guidebook under ‘Cleaning Technique’ prior to
using your Steam Inhaler for the first time or
after it has been stored for an extended
period of time.
REMEMBER:Always unplug the Inhaler and
make sure the POWER switch is turned to the
‘OFF’ position before cleaning, assembling and
before or after each use.
1) Place the Inhaler
on a flat, stable
surface within reach,
with the mask facing
towards you, Fig. 3.
2) Gently pull straight up
on the cover of the
Inhaler to remove lid.
3) Remove the cap to the
water heater tank by
turning it
counterclockwise, Fig. 4.
4) Using the included
measuring cup, fill the
water heater tank with
approximately 25 mL of
tap water, Fig. 5.Donot
fill water above the five
square-shaped vents on
the wall of the tank.
NOTE:Donotuseany-
thing except water in
the water heater tank.
5) Reattach the cap and
the cover.
6) If desired, remove
the aromatherapy/drain
tank from the unit. Fill
the aromatherapy tank
with up to 60 mL of
saline or aromatherapy
water, Fig. 6.
7) Return the
aromatherapy/drain
tank to the unit
making sure that the
suction tube makes
contact with the
bottom of the tank.
Cleaning Procedures
Rinsing Technique
(Performedaftereachuse):
1) Make sure that the unit has cooled (approx.
10 minutes), the POWER switch has been
turned to the ‘OFF’ position and the unit has
been disconnected from the power source.
2) Remove the cover
from the body of the
Steam Inhaler. Remove
the cap to the water
heater tank, Fig. 1.
3) Carefully remove the
one-piece
aromatherapy/drain tank
from the unit, Fig. 2.
4) Rinse aromatherapy/
drain tank with hot tap
water.
5) Empty any remaining
water from the water
heater tank.
6)Drywithcleantowelsor
allow to completely air
dry.
7) Reassemble the Steam Inhaler and store in a
cool, dry place.
Cleaning Technique
(Performed once a week or before first time
use):
1) Follow steps 1-5 under ‘Rinsing Technique.’
2) Wash aromatherapy/drain tank, cover, water
heater tank cover, extension tube and mask
in warm water and a mild detergent.
Thoroughly rinse and allow to completely
dry.
Cleaning the Steam Inhaler
NEVER submerge the main unit in water.
Wipe the Steam Inhaler using a soft, slightly
water-moistened cloth.
NOTE: Any other form of cleaning or
cleaning agents may damage the unit and void
your warranty.

8) Position the extension tube to a
comfortable position by manually
extending or retracting the tube.
9) Slide the variable steam control down for
small-sizedparticlesofsteam.Smaller
particles are ideal when inhaling steam
through the nose. Slide the control up
andlarge-sizedparticleswillresult.
Larger particles are ideal when inhaling
through the mouth.
NOTE: Extending the tube also lowers the
temperature of the steam.
10) Check that the POWER switch is in the
‘off’ position. Plug the power cord into a
main outlet.
11) TurnthePOWERswitchtothe‘ON’position.
12) Start your treatment.
13) The Steam Inhaler will begin to output
steam in approximately 60 seconds.
Once the level of steam becomes weak
(approximately 6-9 minutues), turn the
POWER switch to the ‘OFF’ position and
unplug the power cord from the outlet.
IMPORTANT!
The Inhaler will automatically shut off if it
becomes overheated. If/when this happens,
immediately:
1) Turn the POWER switch to the ‘OFF’
position.
2) Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
3) Allow the unit to cool for approximately
30 minutes.
Before restarting the unit, make sure that the air
vents on the extension tube are not obstructed.
AfterEveryUse
1) Unplug the unit from the power source.
2) Allow the unit to completely cool
(approximately 10 minutes).
3) Carefully remove the aromatherapy/drain
tank and pour out any remaining water.
4) Follow the cleaning procedures provided in
this guidebook.
NOTE:Occasionallythenozzlethatdirectsthe
steam into the extension tube may become
obstructed. If the Steam Inhaler begins to
produce a significanty smaller amount of steam
ornosteamatall,thenozzleneedstobe
cleaned.Tocleanthenozzle,removethecover
fromtheSteamInhaler.Firmlygraspthenozzle
and twist clockwise to remove, Fig. 7. Insert a
fine gauge needle or the pin which is stored
under the bottom of the Steam Inhaler into the
nozzletocleartheairway,Fig. 7. To reattach the
nozzle,alignthenozzlebracketswiththe
groovesonthenozzlebase.Turn
counterclockwiseuntilthenozzlelocksinto
place.
Troubleshooting
If any abnormality occurs during use, please
checkandcorrectthefollowing:
