Set-up
1.Remove from packaging.
2.Place Hear tSine samaritan PAD(AED) face
upon a flat surface and slide in Pad-Pak or
Pediatric-Pak.
3.Listen for “double click” to indicate it is
properlyinserted.
4.Verify that green status indicator is blinking,
indicatingthe AED is ready for use.
5.Turn on AED. You should hear expected
languageand should not hear a warning
message.Turn off AED.
Disposalafter use
6.Remove Pad-Pak. Cut wires. Stick pads together.
Disposeof pads as infectious waste. Recycle
lithiumbattery separately per local regulations.
Pad-Pakand Pediatric-Pakcontain:
• Pairof disposable single use defibrillation pads
• LiMnO2(18V– 1500mAh) non-rechargeable
battery
Intendedpurpose
ThePad-Pak or Pediatric-Pakaccessory contains
thebattery to power the HeartSine samaritan
PADand two electrode pads to provide the
electricalconnection to the patient’s chest for
deliveryof defibrillation shock. The delivery of
adefibrillation shock can stop disruption to the
heart’snormal rhythm and restore blood flow.
Indicationsfor use
ThePad-Pak and Pediatric-Pak,when used with
theHeartSine samaritan PAD, are indicated for
useon victims of cardiac arrest who are exhibiting
thefollowing signs: unconscious, not breathing
andwithout circulation.
• Pad-Pak:Intended for use on adults or children
>8 years or > 25 kg (55 lb).
• Pediatric-Pak:Intended for use on children
betweenthe age of 1-8 years or < 25 kg (55 lb).
Contraindications
Donot use if patient is responsive or conscious.
Batterycapacity
>60shocks or 6 hours battery use.
Warnings
DONOT USE if expiry date is exceeded.
DONOT USE if the pouch is opened or damaged.
Thismay result in the electrode gel being dry.
Cautions
Singleuse ONLY.Reuse may cause AED to be
unableto deliver therapy leading to a failure to
resuscitate.It may also lead to cross-infection
betweenpatients.
DONOT PULL the green tab on the Pad-Pak during
set-up.

onyour HeartSine samaritan PAD, consult

samaritanPAD user manual.

Notes
Pediatric-Pakis only suitable for use with
HeartSinesamaritan PADs with the symbol .
TheTSO/ETSO-certified Pad-Pak must be
usedon board commercial fixed wing aircraft.
DONOT STORE the Pediatric-Pak next to
magneticallysensitive storage media as it contains
amagnetic component (surface strength 6500
gauss).
