Important Safety advice
WARNING-THESURFACEOFTHISRADIATORCANBEHOT.
In order to be effective the towel rail will get hot,
however momentary contact with any part of it should
not cause injury.
DONOTUSETHISAPPLIANCEUNTILTHEWALLBRACKETS
AREFITTEDCORRECTLY.
FOLLOW these instructions carefully.
CAUTION - This appliance is not intended for use by
chidren or other persons without assistance or
supervision if their physical, sensory or mental
capabilities prevent them from using it safely.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Precautions should be taken to ensure that prolonged
contact with the towel rail cannot occur. Particular care
should be taken in confined areas where accidental
prolonged contact with the rail could be more likely to
occur.
IMPORTANT - If the towel rail is to be installed in a place
used by the public, a warning notice should be placed
adjacent to the rail advising that the surface can be hot.
WARNING - This appliance must not be located
immediately above or below a fixed socket outlet or
connection box.
This appliance should only be used to dry fabrics washed
in water using commonly available detergents.
If the mains lead is damaged, it must be replaced by the
maufacturer or its sevice agents or a similarly qualified
person in order to avoid a hazard
WARNING - In order to avoid a hazard for very young
children, this appliance should be installed so that the
lowest heated rail is at least 600mm above the floor.
General
Your Heatstore permanently oil-filled electric towel rail has been
designedto provide anall-the-year-round service forairing towels
and articles of clothing. It is not intended to provide a sole heating
service, but the larger models will take the chill off a normal size
bathroomor toilet.
Allmodelsare splash proof.
Use
Your Heatstore oil-filled electrictowelrail can quite safelybelefton
continuously if desired without detrimental effect. When in use
however no more than two layers of towelling or
similar fabric should be draped over each rail. It is not
advisabletoleavevery damp clothes or towelsontherail when it is
not in use, as this may affect the finish.
The rail when in use, though hot to the touch, is not hot enough to
scorch or burn towels or clothes. However, soap and
detergentsremaininginarticlesafterwashingcancausewhatappear
tobescorchmarksafterbeingincontactwithahotrail.Careshould
betakentherefore to thoroughlyrinseout all articles beforeairing.
Electrical
Theelectrical installation of this towelrail must be carried outby a
competentelectricianinaccordancewiththecurrentI.E.ERegulations
forElectrical Equipment.ThetowelrailissuitableforuseonanA.C.~
electrical supply. Before installation check that the supply voltage
correspondswith that marked onthe rail.
WARNING-THISAPPLIANCEMUSTBEEARTHED.
IMPORTANT - The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
GREENandYELLOW -EARTH
BLUE - NEUTRAL
BROWN - LIVE
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliancemaynotcorrespondwiththecolouredmarkingsidentifying
theterminals in yourplug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured GREEN and YELLOW must be
connectedtotheterminalin the plug which ismarkedwiththeletter
Eorby the earth symbol orcolouredgreenorgreenandyellow.
Thewirewhichiscoloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal
whichis marked withthe letter Norcoloured black.
ThewirewhichiscolouredBROWNmustbeconnectedtotheterminal
which is marked with theletter Lor coloured red.
Thisappliancemust only be usedonA.C. mainssupplyof 230/240
Volts~.
If fitted in a room containing a bath or shower, to comply with the
currentI.E.E.Regulations, a cable outletwillbenecessary with the
supply to the heater controlled by a double-pole pull-cord switch
having a contact separation of 3mm in each pole. The body of the
switchshouldbesituatedas to be normally inaccessible to a person
using a bath or shower.

Procedure for fixing Wall Brackets
Step 1
UsingDim. X and Dim. Y asaguide,markthehole positions forthe
fourfixing brackets anddrill and plugthe wall to suit.
Note: Allowenough roomaboveandbelowfortheclearancestated.
Screw the four fixing brackets securely to the wall - see Fig. 3.
Step 2
Placecarefullyaroundtheuprightbarsthe4mountingstrapsatthe
positionshown-seeFig. 3. (Note the straps mustbepositionedup
tighttothecross bar as indicated) Securelyfixthemby screwing in
placefullythe M4 x10mmscrew.Ensurethebracketsarefittedwith
the rear of the straps facing directly backwards.
Step 3
Place the towel rail straps into the wall mounted brackets, secure
themwith the locater pinsbyinserting it andgivingit a quarterturn
- see Fig 3. Check the four brackets and towel rail are fitting
horizontal.If notgobacktostep2.Thestrapscanbe repositionedto
ensurethatthetowelrail is horizontal when fitted toyourwall.Ifthe
towelrailcrossrails are not level, loosen both straps on eitherleftor
righthand upright bar. Lower thetwo straps and raise upthe towel
railuntilit is horizontal,thensecure as indicated instep2 and 3.

Cleaning
Thefinishonyourtowelrailcanbemaintained byoccasionallywiping
overwithadampclothandlightlyfinishingwith a soft dry cloth. This
shouldonlybecarriedoutwhen the rail is cold. Do not useabrasive
cleaningpowders as thiscould damage thesurface finish.
Recycling
Forelectricalproductssold within the European Community.
Attheendof the electrical products useful life it should not
be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle
where facilities exist. Check with your LocalAuthority or
retailerforrecycling advice in your country.

Installation
The towel rail must be permanently fitted to the wall.
All models are supplied with wall brackets. The towel rail must be
mountedso that thetop rail ishorizontal and atleast 50mm below
anyoverhanging surface -see Fig. 1.
