Premium 10% Resin
• We use premium 10% crosslinked resin vs. most of our
competitors that use 8% or less.
What does this mean?
• 10% resin is used for a lot of commercial applications,
because it is stronger and lasts longer. It resists mushing
and jelling from chemicals and physical breakdown.
• Damaged resin means you will use more salt and waste
more water when recharging the resin for softening.
• You also have better pressure over the life of your
softener.

ProMate 6.5 Series - Simplicity with High Performance
The Hellenbrand ProMate 6.5 Electronic On Demand System
incorporates all of the best engineering features of our ProMate
6.0 Series with additional “High Performance” designs, that
provides higher capacities or more simply put “better gas
mileage” and less salt used.
We have incorporated small but critical design features learned
from months of testing to increase the operating efciencies
(grains of softening capacity per lb. of salt used) to nearly
5,000 grains per lb. of salt using counter-current or upow
regeneration.
• The PM6.5 uses upow or counter-current regeneration,
passing the regenerate through unused resin at the bottom
of the tank, pushing the hardness minerals up through the
exhausted portion of the resin bed for a more efcient
regeneration.
•
This allows the water leaving the tank during service to pass
through the most efcient zone at the bottom of the tank.
• Variable reserve automatically adjusts to your changing
water usage patterns for each day of the week, providing
added savings.
• This provides better salt efciencies, better water quality
and less water used for regeneration.

Your Hellenbrand Dealer:
Help Dry Skin and Hair
Use less shampoo and conditioner.
Enjoy healthier and softer skin and hair
with softened water.
Reduce Energy Costs
Softened water maintains the Energy Star
ratings on your water heater by preventing
rock like scale build-up, thus saving you
signicant dollars in energy costs and a
much longer life for your water heater.
Stop Discoloration and Staining
Softened water eliminates hard water stains
and signicantly reduces rust colored stains
from iron.
You’ll notice a big difference in every part of your home!
Protect Plumbing, Appliances & Fixtures
Softened water extends the life
and signi-
cantly reduces the repair costs as a result of
hard water. Your faucets and showerheads
will last much longer and your dishes and
clothes will be cleaner.
Hard water enters your water softener and passes
down through the ion exchange resin, which are
charged with sodium ions. The hard water ions
(calcium and magnesium) are attracted to the ion
exchange resin and an equal amount of sodium
ions are bumped off into the water supply.
When the water reaches the bottom of the tank,
it is softened and ready to be used in your home
and business.
When softening resin is saturated with hard
water minerals, it must be recharged. A strong
salt solution enters the bottom of the tank and
ushes the calcium and magnesium off the
resin and the resin is recharged. The brine
solution from your brine tank is the fuel to
recharge the resin beads.
Your ProMate 6.5 control valve controls this
entire process, including the frequency of
regeneration.
