What is eSATA ?
eSATA stands for External Serial Advanced Technology Attachment. eSATA provides the fastest data
transfer of up to 6Gb/s (600MB/s) for external devices.
Rocket Dual eSATA 6Gb/s For Mac
The Rocket Dual eSATA 6Gb/s For Mac is a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 add-in card with 2 independent 6Gb/s
eSATA connectors. It is ideal for those who need fast, efficient and reliable storage for their Mac Pro
systems. The dual 6Gb/s eSATA ports combined with HighPoint’s RAID technology provide the high-level
of performance required to support multi-stream HDV, DVCPro HD, XDCAM HD, ProRes 422 and
uncompressed SD workflows.

Quick Installation Guide
1. For safety reasons, please turn off your Mac and unplug all components.
2. Put the workstation aside to ensure the internal temperature is suitable for installation. Touch
the chassis with your hand to release static electricity.
3. Remove the side pane
4. Remove the PCI bracket –Loosen the two thumbscrews that holds the PCI-Express cards in place
and remove the bracket and the port access cover.
5. Plug the Rocket Dual eSATA 6Gb/s For Mac host adapter into an empty PCI-Express slot.
6. Install the PCI bracket and tighten the thumb screw.
7. Insert the side panel and close the latch Reconnect the external cable and power cord. Turn on
the power of your Mac Pro.

EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE
(Data Mode)
1. Connect the eSATA cable between the external hard drive and the Rocket Dual eSATA 6Gb/s For
Mac eSATA port. Your external hard drive will be ready to access in your desktop as a new
volume.
2. The external hard drive can be used as a Mac OS X Time Machine backup device
