Safety Instruction
Laws and Regulations
Use of the product must be in strict compliance with the local laws and regulations. Please shut down the
device in prohibited areas.
Power Supply
•Use of the product must be in strict compliance with the local electrical safety regulations.
•Use a power adapter provided by a qualified manufacturer. Refer to the product specification for
detailed power requirements.
•It is recommended to provide an independent power adapter for each device as adapter overload
may cause overheating or a fire hazard.
•Make sure that the power has been disconnected before you wire,install, or disassemble the
device.
•DO NOT directly touch exposed contacts and components once the device is powered up to avoid
electric shock.
•DO NOT use damaged power supply devices (e.g., cable, power adapter,etc.) to avoid electric shock,
fire hazard, and explosion.
•DO NOT directly cut the power supply to shut down the device. Please shut down the device
normally, and then unplug the power cord to avoid data loss.
•DO NOT block the power supply equipment to ensure the ability to plug and unplug conveniently.
•Make sure the power supply has been disconnected if the power adapter is idle.
•Make sure the device is connected to the ground firmly.
Transportation, Use, and Storage
•To avoid heat accumulation, good ventilation is required for a proper operating environment.

•Store the device in dry, well-ventilated, corrosive-gas-free, no direct sunlight, and no heating
source environment.
•Avoid fire, water, and explosive environment when using the device.
•Avoid lightning strike for device installation. Install a lightning arrester if necessary.
•Keep the device away from magnetic interference.
•Avoid device installation on vibratory surfaces or places, and avoid equipment installation on
vibratory surfaces or places subject to shock (ignorance may cause device damage).
•DO NOT touch the heat dissipation component to avoid burns.
•DO NOT expose the device to extremely hot, cold, or humidity environments. For temperature and
humidity requirements, see device specification.
•The device can be safely used in only regions below 2000 meters above sea level.
Maintenance
•If smoke, odor, or noise arises from the device, immediately turn off the power, unplug the power
cable, and contact the service center.
•If the device behaves abnormally, contact the store you purchased it from or the nearest service
center. DO NOT disassemble or modify the device in any way (For the problems caused by
unauthorized modification or maintenance, the company shall not take any responsibility).
•Keep all packaging after unpacking for future use. In case any failure occurs, you need to return
the device to the factory in the original packaging. Transportation without the original packaging
may result in damage to the device, and the company shall not take any responsibility.
Network
•Enforce protection for personal information and the data security as the device may confront
network security problems when it is connected to the Internet. Please contact us if the device
might confront network security risks.
•Understand that you have the responsibility to configure all the passwords and other device
security settings and keeping your user name and password confidential.
Lens
•DO NOT touch the lens with fingers directly in case the acidic sweat of the fingers erodes the
surface coating of the lens.
•DO NOT aim the lens at a strong light such as the sun or an incandescent lamp. The strong light can
cause fatal damage to the device.
Screen
Clean the screen with a soft and dry cloth or other substitute to wipe the interior and exterior surface. DO
NOT use alkaline detergents. Protect the screen from scratches.

Battery
•DO NOT charge the battery continuously for more than one week. Overcharging may shorten the
battery life.
•Battery will discharge gradually if it is not used for a long time. It must be recharged before using.
•If the device contains a dismountable battery, store the device and battery separately if it is not
used.
•The battery must be charged and discharged every three months if it is not used and recharged to
60% to 70% power to store.
•A scrapped battery should be discarded in compliance with the local laws and regulations. If there
are no corresponding laws or regulations, dispose of it in a hazardous waste trash can.
•DO NOT pierce the battery or shorten the electrodes, or it may cause explosion or fire hazard.
•DO NOT throw the battery in fire or water, or it may cause explosion.
•Please use the specific battery supported by the device, or it may cause explosion. If the battery is
damaged and needs to be changed, contact the device manufacturer or local distributor.
•If the device contains a button battery, keep it far away from children.
•DO NOT expose the battery pack or battery combination to sunlight, fire, or a similar overheated
environment.
Data
DO NOT disconnect the power during formatting, uploading, or downloading, or files may be damaged.

1Introduction and Overview
1.1 Introduction
The DS-MDS003 Dock Station, integrated with Digital Evidence Management System (hereinafter referred
to as software), provides you with an easy way to access body cameras, and collect, store, and play audio
and video files in the connected body cameras via the software. You can associate user accounts with
body cameras, search data collection records, and upload data via the software.
1.2 Key Feature
•Dual system design that is highly stable. Supports wall mount, mobile mount,and desktop mount.
•Ultra-large touchscreen with high resolution and convenient operation.
•Unlocks body camera bin by recognizing face to guarantee safe storage.
•Equipped with multiple body camera bins. Extra dock stations can be connected.
•Supports auto charging of connected body cameras.
•Standard USB interfaces provided. You can connect a keyboard or mouse forsoftware operation, or
connect a USB flash disk to upgrade dock station.
•Supports auto uploading of body camera data (picture, video, and audio), and clearing the storage
space of body camera automatically.
•Locks important data of body camera to avoid being deleted.
•Supports data protection in sudden power cutoff.
•Log management to record all the operation logs.
•Overwritten storage to overwrite the collected data according to the collection sequence when the
storage is full.
•ANR for data uploading to prevent data loss.
•Supports file search in multiple modes, and video, audio, and picture playback.
•Local upgrade.
•Multi-person management. Multi-persons can be associated with one dock station.
•Files can be uploaded to CVR and cloud storage.
1.3 Panel
1.3.1 Device Overview
Dock station is composed of a host and dock station(s). Different models support different number of dock
station(s). The device overview is shown as below.

1 Body Camera Bin
There is a mini USB interface in each bin to connect a body camera. The bin door can be locked after you connect a
body camera in it, and it will automatically open if you pass the ID verification.
2 Indicator
The indicator shows the data collection and charging status of the connected body camera:
•Flashing blue: The dock station is collecting data of the body camera
•Flashing red: The body camera is being charged
•Solid green: The body camera is fully charged

6 Dial Switches
SW1 and SW2 are used to distinguish dock stations. You need to set the dial switches according to the table
printed above them.
NOTE: You must set the dial switches according to the table,or the device will fail to work.

2Installation
Dock station supports wall mount, mobile mount, and desktop mount.
2.1 Wall Mount
You can install dock station on the wall.
Before You Start
•Prepare the hanging bracket and its accessories according to the device model.
•Prepare the tools such as electric drill, bit, etc. to drill holes on the wall.
Steps
1. Install the hanging bracket.
1) According to the device model, fasten M6 stepped screws on the hole sites with screen prints on
the upper and lower bulges of the hanging bracket with a cross screwdriver.
NOTE: If Device Supports One Dock Station: Use hanging bracket (1-2), and fasten four M6
stepped screws on the four hole sites on the vertical directions of the second “Host”

screen print from the left and the second “Dock A” screen print from the left.
If Device Supports Two Dock Stations: Use hanging bracket (1-2), and fasten six M6
stepped screws on the six hole sites on the vertical directions of the first “Host” screen
print from the left, the first “Dock A”screen print from the left, and the “Dock B” screen
print.
If Device Supports Three Dock Stations: Use hanging bracket (3-4), and fasten eight M6
stepped screws on the eight hole sites on the vertical directions of the second “Host”
screen print from the left, the second “Dock A” screen print from the left, the second
“Dock B” screen print from the left, and the second “Dock C” screen print from the left.
If Device Supports Four Dock Stations: Use hanging bracket (3-4), and fasten ten M6
stepped screws on the ten hole sites on the vertical directions of the first “Host” screen
print from the left, the first “Dock A” screen print from the left, the first “Dock B” screen
print from the left, the first “Dock C” screen print from the left, and “Dock D” screen print.

2) Drill four holes on the wall according to the installation position and the rounded rectangle hole
sites on the hanging bracket.
3) Install the four expansion bolts, flat washers, spring washers, M8 nuts, and hanging bracket
according to the sequence shown as below. Then fasten the nuts with an M8 nut open-end
wrench.

2. Install the host.
1) Align the host side edge to the stripe screen print edge on the hanging bracket, and align the two
installation holes on the host rear panel to the two M6 stepped screws fastened on the vertical
direction of “Host” screen print of the hanging bracket.
2) Push the host and slide it down to make the screws slide to the fixed positions.

3. Install dock station A.
1) Align the top and bottom edges of dock station A to those of the host, and align the side edge to
the stripe screen print edge on the hanging bracket.
2) Align the two installation holes on the rear panel of dock station A to the two M6 stepped screws
fastened on the vertical direction of “Dock A” screen print of the hanging bracket. Slide it leftward
to make the screws slide to the fixed positions.

3) Fasten two M6 hand screws from the top and bottom respectively.

4. Optional: Repeat the steps above to install dock station B/C/D.
5. Install the decorating component on the side. Tighten the decorating component leftward to the right
side of the last dock station, and fasten two M6 hand screws from the top and bottom respectively.

2.2 Mobile Mount
You can install dock station on mobile bracket.
2.2.1 Install Mobile Bracket
Install the mobile bracket before you install the dock station.
Before You Start
Prepare the mobile bracket components and accessories.
Steps
1. Install universal wheels.
1) Turn the bracket base over. Press the brake pedals to fix the wheels.

2) Fasten the bolts on the wheels to the corresponding positions on the base through four M10 nuts.
3) Turn the base over again.

2. Install the connecting pipes.
1) Insert the connecting pipes downward into the holes on the base.
2) Fasten two M8 × 20 mm bolts into the holes on the horizontal connector on the bottom of the
connecting pipes through two spring washers and two flat washers with an L-type hex wrench.
3) Fasten two M8 × 20 mm bolts into the holes on the base bottom through two spring washers and
two flat washers with an L-type hex wrench to fix the bottom of the connecting pipes to the base.

3. Install the horizontal shelf.
1) Adjust the shelf height according to the actual application scene, and align the holes on the shelf
to those on the connecting pipes.
2) Fasten four M8 × 70 mm bolts into the holes through four spring washers and four flat washers
from the front with an L-type hex wrench.
3) Fasten four M8 nuts onto the bolts from back with an M8 nut open-end wrench.
Result
Mobile bracket installation is completed.

2.2.2 Install Device (Mobile Mount)
After installing the mobile bracket, follow the steps below to install dock station.
Before You Start
Prepare the hanging bracket and its accessories according to the device model.
Steps
1. Install the hanging bracket.
1) According to the device model, fasten M6 stepped screws on the hole sites with screen prints on
the upper and lower bulges of the hanging bracket with a cross screwdriver.
Refer to step 1 of “Wall Mount” for the detailed installation description.
2) Align the rounded rectangle hole sites on the hanging bracket to those on the bracket connecting
pipes, and guarantee the hanging bracket horizontal and stable.
3) Install the four M8 × 70 mm bolts, flat washers, spring washers, M8 nuts, and hanging bracket
according to the sequence shown as below. Then fasten the nuts with an M8 nut open-end
wrench.

2. Install the host, dock station(s), and side decorating component. Refer to step 2 to step 5 of “Wall
Mount” for details.
Result
Mobile mount is completed.

2.3 Desktop Mount
You can install dock station on the desktop bracket.
2.3.1 Install Desktop Bracket
Install the desktop bracket before you install the dock station.

Before You Start
Prepare the desktop bracket components and accessories.
Steps
1. Insert the connecting pipes downward into the holes on the bracket base.
2. Fasten two M8 × 20 mm bolts into the holes on the triangle supports on the bottom of the connecting
pipes through two spring washers and two flat washers with an L-type hex wrench.
3. Fasten two M8 × 20 mm bolts into the holes on the base bottom through two spring washers and two
flat washers with an L-type hex wrench to fix the bottom of the connecting pipes to the base.
Result
Desktop bracket installation is completed.

2.3.2 Install Device (Desktop Mount)
After installing the desktop bracket, follow the steps below to install dock station.
Before You Start
Prepare the hanging bracket and its accessories according to the device model.
Steps
1. Install the hanging bracket.
1) According to the device model, fasten M6 stepped screws on the hole sites with screen prints on
the upper and lower bulges of the hanging bracket with a cross screwdriver.
Refer to step 1 of “Wall Mount” for the detailed installation description.
2) Align the rounded rectangle hole sites on the hanging bracket to those on the bracket connecting
pipes, and guarantee the hanging bracket horizontal and stable.
3) Install the four M8 × 50 mm bolts, flat washers, spring washers, M8 nuts, and hanging bracket
according to the sequence shown as below. Then fasten the nuts with an M8 nut open-end
wrench.

2. Install the host, dock station(s), and side decorating component. Refer to step 2 to step 5 of “Wall
Mount” for details.

Desktop mount is completed.

2.4 Uninstall Device
Follow the steps below to uninstall dock station from the hanging bracket.
Steps
1. Uninstall the side decorating component. Unfasten the two M6 hand screws from the top and bottom,
and pull it rightward to take it down.

2. Uninstall dock station(s).
1) Unfasten the two M6 hand screws from the top and bottom of the last dock station.
2) Pull the dock station rightward until the stepped screws on the rear panel installation holes slide
to the released status. Take the dock station down from the front.
3) Optional: Follow the steps above to uninstall other dock station(s) in sequence from right to left.
The dock station(s) must be uninstalled in sequence from right to left. Unfasten the two
hand screws on the corresponding dock station every time you uninstall it.

3. Uninstall the host. Push the host upward until the stepped screws on the rear panel installation holes
slide to the released status. Take the host down from the front.
