Do not touc sensor modules wit fingers. If cleaning is necessary, use clean clot wit
a bit of et anol and wipe it gently. If t e camera will not be used for an extended period,
please replace t e lens cap to protect t e sensor from dirt.
●
Do not aim t e camera at t e sun or extra brig t places. Blooming or smearing may
occur ot erwise (w ic is not a malfunction), and affect t e endurance of sensor at t e
same time.
●
T e sensor may be burned out by a laser beam, so w en any laser equipment is in using,
make sure t at t e surface of sensor will not be exposed to t e laser beam.
●
Do not place t e camera in extremely ot, cold (t e operating temperature s all be -10°
to 40° C), dusty or damp locations, and do not expose it to ig electromagnetic
radiation.
●
To avoid eat accumulation, good ventilation is required for operating environment.
●
Keep t e camera away from liquid w ile in use.
●
W ile in delivery, t e camera s all be packed in its original packing, or packing of t e
same texture.
●
Regular part replacement: a few parts (e.g. electrolytic capacitor) of t e equipment
s all be replaced regularly according to t eir average enduring time. T e average time
varies because of differences between operating environment and using istory, so
regular c ecking is recommended for all t e users. Please contact wit your dealer for
more details.
●
Improper use or replacement of t e battery may result in azard of explosion. Replace
wit t e same or equivalent type only. Dispose of used batteries according to t e
instructions provided by t e battery manufacturer.
●
If t e product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or t e nearest service
center. Never attempt to disassemble t e camera yourself. (We s all not assume any

For cameras t at support power over Et ernet (PoE), t e power is passed along wit data
on Et ernet cabling. A switc t at supports t e PoE function is required.
2Installation
Make sure of the following before you start:
●
T e device included in t e package is in good condition and all required parts are
included.
●
T e standard power supply is 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af), and must be consistent wit
camera requirements.
●
Equipment is powered-off during installation.
●
T e installation environment is correct.
●
T e wall is strong enoug to wit stand four times t e weig t of t e camera and bracket.
●
T ere are no reflective surfaces too close to t e camera lens. T e IR lig t from t e
camera may reflect back into t e lens and cause reflection.

Note:
Four camera types ave t e same installation met od. We will use t e III/IV turret camera
as an example to illustrate t e installation.
Before You Start:
Bot wall and ceiling mounting are suitable for t e turret camera. Ceiling mounting will be
used as an example for t is section, and can be used as a reference for wall mounting.
Steps:
1. Paste t e drill template (supplied) to t e desired mounting position on t e ceiling.
2. Drill t e screw oles and t e cable ole in t e ceiling according to t e drill template.

Drill t e cable ole if using t e ceiling outlet to route t e cable.

3. Disassemble t e camera.
1). Rotate t e camera to align t e notc wit one of t e marks.
2). Pry t e mounting base wit a flat object (e.g., a coin) to remove it from t e camera
body.

4. Attac t e mounting base to t e ceiling wit t e supplied screws.
Notes:

T e supplied screw package contains bot self-tapping screws and expansion bolts.

If t e ceiling is made of cement, expansion bolts are required to fix t e camera. If t e
ceiling is made of wood, self-tapping screws are required.

3Network Camera LAN Configuration
Note:
T e use of products wit internet access carries in erent security risks. In order to avoid
network attacks and information leakage, strengt en your own network protection.

3.1 Wiring

3.2 Activate t e Camera
Activate t e camera by setting a strong password. Activation via web browser, activation via
SADP, and activation via client software are supported. Activation via SADP software and
web browser will be used as examples to introduce camera activation.
Note:
Refer to t e Network Camera User Manual for activation via client software.
3.3 Activation via Web Browser
Steps:
1. Power t e camera on. Connect t e camera to your computer or t e switc /router t at
your computer connects to.
2. Input t e IP address into t e address bar of t e Web browser, and press Enter to enter
t e activation interface.
Notes:

T e camera’s default IP address is 192.168.1.64.

T e computer and t e camera s ould belong to t e same subnet.

For cameras t at ave DHCP enabled by default, use t e SADP software to searc for t e
IP address.

3. Create and input a password.
STRONG PASSWORD RECOMMENDED – We highly recommend creating a strong
assword of your own choosing (using a minimum of eight characters, including
u er case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and s ecial characters) in order to
increase the security of your roduct. We recommend regularly resetting your
assword on a weekly or monthly basis, es ecially in high security systems.
4. Confirm t e password.
5. Click OK to save t e password and enter t e live view interface.
3.4 Activation via SADP Software
SADP software is used for detecting online devices, activating cameras, and resetting
passwords.
SADP can be obtained from t e supplied disk or t e official website, and installed by
following t e prompts.
Follow t e steps to activate t e camera.
Steps:
1. Run SADP to searc for online devices.
2. C eck t e device status from t e device list, and select t e inactive device.

3. Create, input, and confirm t e password.

You can c eck w et er t e activation is complete in t e popup window. If activation failed,
make sure t at t e password meets t e requirements, and try again.
3.5 Modify t e IP Address
Purpose:
To view and configure t e camera via LAN (Local Area Network), you need to connect t e
network camera in t e same subnet as your PC.
Use t e SADP software or client software to searc and c ange t e IP address of t e device.
IP Address modification via SADP software will be used as an example.
In order to modify t e IP address via client software, refer to t e user manual of t e client
software.
Steps:
1. Run SADP.
2. Select an active device.
3. C ange t e device IP address to t e same subnet as your computer by eit er modifying
t e IP address manually, or by c ecking t e Enable DHCP c eckbox.

4. Input t e admin password and click Modify to complete IP address modification.
SADP supports batc IP address modification. Refer to t e SADP user manual for details.
4Access via Web Browser
System Requirement:
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP1 and above
CPU: 2.0 GHz or greater
RAM: 1 Gb or greater
Display: 1024×768 resolution or ig er
Web Browser: Internet Explorer 8.0 or ig er, Apple Safari 5.0.2 or ig er, Mozilla Firefox
5.0 or ig er, and Google C rome 18 or ig er
Steps:
1. Open t e Web browser.
2. In t e browser address bar, input t e IP address of t e network camera, and press t e
Enter key to enter t e login interface.
Note:
T e default IP address is 192.168.1.64. It is suggested t at you c ange t e IP address to t e
same subnet as your computer.

3. Input t e user name and password.
T e admin user s ould configure t e device accounts and user/operator permissions
properly. Delete t e unnecessary accounts and user/operator permissions.
Note:
T e device IP address gets locked if t e admin user performs 7 failed password attempts (5
attempts for t e user/operator).
4. Click Login.

5. Install t e plug-in before viewing t e live video and managing t e camera. Follow t e
installation prompts to install t e plug-in.

login.

5Hik-Connect
Purpose:
Hik-Connect is a mobile application to view live camera images, receive alarm notifications,
etc.
Enable Hik-Connect for Use wit Cameras
5.1
Purpose:
Enable Hik-Connect s ould on your camera before using t e service.
You can enable t e service eit er via SADP software or a Web browser.

1. C eck t e Enable Hik-Connect c eckbox:

1). For t e “Activate t e Device” page t at appears during camera activation, refer to
C apter 3.2.2.
2). For t e “Modify Network Parameters” page t at appears w ile modifying t e IP
address, refer to C apter 3.3.

Steps:
1. Access t e camera via t e Web browser. Refer to C apter 4.
2. Enter t e platform access configuration interface, as follows: Configuration > Network >
Advanced Settings > Platform Access.

3. Set t e Platform Access Mode to Hik-Connect.
4. C eck t e Enable c eckbox.
5. Click and read t e “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” in t e pop-up window.
6. Create or c ange t e verification code for t e camera.

A verification code is required w en you add t e camera to Hik-Connect.
7. Save t e settings.

Before You Start:
Enable Hik-Connect on t e camera before adding it to your Hik-Connect account. See
C apter 5.1.
Steps:
1. Use a network cable to connect camera to a router if t e camera does not support
Wi-Fi.

After t e camera connects to t e network, wait one minute before using t e camera wit
Hik-Connect.
2. Add t e camera to t e Hik-Connect app:
•If Accessing t e Camera t roug an NVR: Tap “+” on t e upper-rig t corner and scan
t e QR code t at appears in t e NVR interface.

•If Accessing t e Camera t roug a Web Browser: Tap t e icon and type in t e
camera’s serial number.
3. Input your camera’s verification code.
Note:
T e required verification code is created or c anged w en you enable Hik-Connect on your
camera.
Forgotten verification codes can be recovered in t e Platform Access configuration page via
t e web browser.
4. Follow prompts to set up t e network connection and add t e camera to your
Hik-Connect account.
Note:
For detailed information, refer to t e Hik-Connect user manual.
Initialize t e Memory Card

Note:
T e microSD memory card is not included wit t e camera and must be purc ased
separately.
Steps:
1. C eck t e status of t e memory card by tapping on t e Storage Status in t e Device
Settings interface.
2. If t e memory card status displays as Uninitialized, tap to initialize it. T e status will
t en c ange to Normal. You can t en start recording any event-triggered video in t e
camera suc as motion detection-generated videos.
