1.3 Product information

viced and maintained only by trained, authorized personnel. This personnel
must be informed of any particular hazards that may be encountered. The
product and its ancillary equipment can present hazards if used incorrectly
by untrained personnel or if used not in accordance with the intended use.
The type designation and serial number are stated on the rating plate.

2 Safety
2.1 Important safety instructions
WARNING! READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below can result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. KEEP
THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A HANDY YET SECURE PLACE.
2.2 Careful handling and use
▶Use the product only when it is in perfect working order.
▶Never tamper with or modify the product in any way.
▶This device can be used by children 8 years of age or older and by persons
with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or little relevant experience or
know-how if they are supervised or have received instruction on the safe
use of the device and the resulting hazards.
▶Do not use the product where there is a risk of fire or explosion.
▶Do not use the device outdoors.
▶Do not use accessories not specifically intended and recommended for
this power tool by the tool manufacturer. The fact that an accessory can

be attached to your power tool does not necessarily mean that it can be
used in safety.
▶Replace the complete cordless lamp when the light source has reached
the end of its life. The light source in this cordless lamp is not replaceable.
▶Do not look into the beam and do not direct the beam toward other
persons.
▶Do not expose the device to rain or moisture. Water entering an electric
device will increase the risk of electric shock.
2.3 Careful handling and use of batteries
▶Observe the special guidelines applicable to the transport, storage and
use of lithium-ion batteries.
▶Do not expose batteries to high temperatures, direct sunlight or fire.
▶Do not take apart, squash or incinerate batteries and do not subject them
to temperatures over 80 °C.
▶Do not attempt to charge or continue to use damaged batteries.
▶If the battery is too hot to touch, it may be defective. In this case, place
the power tool in a non-flammable location, well away from flammable
materials, where it can be kept under observation and left to cool down.
Contact Hilti Service after the battery has cooled down.

3.2 Intended use
The product described is a cordless lamp. It is intended for use as illumination
on jobsites. Use the product in a dry environment only.
SL 2-A12
Use only Hilti Li-ion batteries from the B 12 series with this product.
▶Use only the Hilti battery chargers of the C 4/36 series with the CA-
B12 charging adapter, or battery chargers of the C 4/12-50 series for
charging these batteries.

Use only Hilti Liion batteries of the B 22 series with this product.
▶Use only the Hilti battery chargers of the C4/36 series for charging these
batteries.
3.3 Charge state indicator
Lightly press (no more than until resistance is perceptible) either of the
battery release buttons to check the charge state of the Liion battery.
Status Meaning
4 LEDs light up. • Charge state: 75 % to 100 %
3 LEDs light up. • Charge state: 50 % to 75 %
2 LEDs light up. • Charge state: 25 % to 50 %
1 LED lights up. • Charge state: 10 % to 25 %
1 LED flashes. • Charge state: < 10 %
Note
If the LEDs of the charge state indicator flash, follow the instructions in
the 'Troubleshooting' section.
3.4 3-mode switch
Use the 3-mode switch to set the brightness.
Status Meaning
Press once • The lamp lights with maximum
brightness.
Press twice • The lamp lights with medium
brightness.
Press three times • The lamp is off.

5 Operation
5.1 Preparations at the workplace
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Inadvertent starting of the product.
▶Remove the battery before making any adjustments to the power tool
or before changing accessories.
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on
the product.
5.2 Inserting the battery
CAUTION
Electrical hazard. Dirty contacts may cause a short circuit.
▶Before inserting the battery, check to ensure that the battery terminals
and the contacts on the product are free from foreign objects.
CAUTION
Risk of injury. If the battery is not fitted correctly it may drop out and fall.
▶Check that the battery is securely seated in the product so that
it cannot drop out and fall, thereby presenting a hazard to other
persons.
▶Insert the battery and check that the battery is securely seated in the
device.
5.3 Removing the battery
1. Press both release buttons.
2. Pull the battery to the rear and out of the product.

5.4 Pivoting the head of the lamp
1. Pull out the retractable hook.
Note
When you suspend the lamp using the retractable hook, check the
load-bearing capacity of the point from which the lamp is suspended.
2. Pivot the head of the lamp upwards.
5.5 Turning the lamp head
CAUTION
Risk of damage to the eyes (the retina). Looking directly into the lamp
presents a risk of damage to the eyes (the retina).
▶Do not direct the lamp at yourself or at anyone else.
▶Do not, under any circumstances, look into the lamp.
▶Turn the lamp head to the desired position.
Note
The lamp head can be turned in either direction along the axis. Do
not attempt to force the lamp head past the end stops.

6 Care and maintenance
6.1 Care and maintenance of cordless tools
WARNING
Risk of electric shock! Attempting care and maintenance with the
battery fitted in the tool can lead to severe injury and burns.
▶Always remove the battery before carrying out care and maintenance
tasks!
Care and maintenance of the tool
• Carefully remove any dirt that may be adhering to parts.
• Clean the air vents carefully with a dry brush.
• Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning
agents containing silicone as these may attack the plastic parts.

• Keep the battery free from oil and grease.
• Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning

• Avoid ingress of moisture.
Maintenance
• Check all visible parts and controls for signs of damage at regular intervals
and make sure that they all function correctly.
• Do not operate the cordless tool if signs of damage are found or if parts
malfunction. Have the tool repaired by Hilti Service immediately.
• After cleaning and maintenance, fit all guards or protective devices and
check that they function correctly.

parts and consumables. Spare parts, consumables and accessories
approved by Hilti for use with the product can be found at your local
Hilti Center or online at: www.hilti.com
7 Transport and storage
7.1 Transport and storage of cordless tools
Transport
CAUTION
Inadvertent starting during transport. Uncontrolled starting during
transport may occur if the battery is fitted, thereby resulting in damage
to the tool.
▶Always remove the battery before transporting the tool.
▶Remove the battery.
▶Transport the tool and batteries individually packaged.
▶Never transport batteries in bulk form (loose, unprotected).
▶Check the tool and batteries for damage before use after long periods of
transport.
Storage
CAUTION
Inadvertent damage caused by defective battery. A leaking battery
may damage the tool.
▶Always remove the battery before storing the tool.
▶Store the tool and batteries in a place that is as cool and dry as possible.
▶Never store batteries in direct sunlight, on heating units or behind a
window pane.
▶Store the tool and batteries in a place where they cannot be accessed by
children or unauthorized persons.
▶Check the tool and batteries for damage before use after long periods of
storage.

If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable
to remedy the problem by yourself, please contact Hilti Service.

9 Disposal
WARNING
Risk of injury. Hazards presented by improper disposal.
▶Improper disposal of the equipment may have the following conse-
quences: The burning of plastic components generates toxic fumes
which may present a health hazard. Batteries may explode if dam-
aged or exposed to very high temperatures, causing poisoning,
burns, acid burns or environmental pollution. Careless disposal may
permit unauthorized and improper use of the equipment. This may
result in serious personal injury, injury to third parties and pollution of
the environment.
▶Dispose of defective batteries right away. Keep them out of reach of
children. Do not disassemble or incinerate the batteries.
▶Batteries that have reached the end of their life must be disposed of
in accordance with national regulations or returned to Hilti.
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manu-
factured can be recycled. The materials must be correctly separated before
they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools, machines or appli-
ances can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti
representative for further information.
▶Disposal of electric tools or appliances together with household
waste is not permissible.

▶Ne pas utiliser le produit dans des endroits présentant un danger d'incen-

▶N'utiliser aucun accessoire qui n'a pas été prévu spécifiquement pour
cet appareil électrique ni recommandé par le fabricant. Le simple fait
de pouvoir fixer l'accessoire sur l'outil électroportatif ne garantit pas une
utilisation sûre.
▶Remplacer entièrement la lampe sur accu si la source lumineuse est
arrivée en fin de durée de service. La source lumineuse de cette lampe
sur accu n'est pas remplaçable.
▶Ne pas regarder directement dans le faisceau et ne pas diriger le faisceau
contre des personnes.
▶Ne pas exposer l’appareil à la pluie ou à l’humidité. La pénétration d’eau
dans un appareil électrique augmente le risque d’un choc électrique.
2.3 Utilisation et emploi soigneux des accus
▶Respecter les directives spécifiques relatives au transport, au stockage
et à l'utilisation des accus LiIon.
▶Ne pas exposer les accus à des températures élevées, ni au rayonnement
direct du soleil ni au feu.
▶Les accus ne doivent pas être démontés, écrasés, chauffés à une
température supérieure à 80 °C ou jetés au feu.
▶Des accus Li-Ion endommagés ne doivent être ni utilisés, ni chargés.
▶Si l'accu est trop chaud pour être touché, il est probablement défectueux.
Déposer l'appareil à un endroit non inflammable d'où il peut être surveillé,
suffisamment loin de matériaux potentiellement inflammables et le laisser
refroidir. Contacter le S.A.V. Hilti une fois l'accu refroidi.

Pour ce produit, utiliser exclusivement les accus LiIon Hilti de la série
B 12.
▶Pour ces accus, utiliser uniquement les chargeurs Hilti de la série C 4/36

50.

3.3 Indicateur de l'état de charge
L'état de charge de l'accu LiIon peut être visualisé en appuyant légèrement
sur l'un des deux boutons de déverrouillage (jusqu'à une résistance percep-
tible).

Remarque
Si les LED de l'indicateur de l'état de charge de l'accu clignotent, se

3.4 Commutateur 3 modes
La luminosité se règle à l'aide du commutateur 3 modes.

5 Utilisation

▶Retirer le bloc-accu, avant d’effectuer des réglages sur l’appareil ou
de changer les accessoires.
Bien respecter les consignes de sécurité et les avertissements de la présente
documentation ainsi que celles figurant sur le produit.
5.2 Introduction de l'accu
ATTENTION
Danger électrique. Des contacts encrassés risquent de provoquer un
court-circuit.
▶Avant d'insérer l'accu, s'assurer que les contacts de l'accu et les
contacts du produit sont exempts de tout corps étranger.
ATTENTION
Risque de blessures. Si l'accu n'est pas correctement mis en place, il
risque de tomber.
▶Vérifier que l'accu est bien en place dans le produit, afin qu'il ne
tombe pas et ne mette personne en danger.
▶Mettre l'accu en place et vérifier que l'accu est bien en place dans
l'appareil.
5.3 Retrait de l'accu
1. Appuyer sur les deux boutons de déverrouillage.
2. Extraire l'accu du produit vers l'arrière.

5.4 Relevage de la tête de la lampe
1. Sortir le crochet escamotable.
Remarque
Si l'appareil doit être accroché au crochet escamotable, tenir compte
de la charge admissible du crochet auquel l'appareil est suspendu.
2. Relever la tête de la lampe.
5.5 Rotation de la tête de la lampe
ATTENTION
Risque de lésions de la rétine. Il y a risque de lésions de la rétine en
regardant directement dans la lampe.
▶Ne pas diriger la lampe vers soi ou toute autre personne.
▶Ne jamais regarder dans la lampe.
▶Orienter la tête de la lampe dans la position choisie.
Remarque
La tête de la lampe peut être orientée le long de l'axe dans les deux
sens. Veiller à ne pas appuyer avec force sur les butées.
5.6 Mise en marche
1. Orienter la tête de la lampe dans la position choisie. → Page 15
2. Sélectionner un mode en appuyant autant de fois que nécessaire sur le
commutateur 3 modes.
6 Nettoyage et entretien
6.1 Nettoyage et entretien des appareils sur accu
AVERTISSEMENT
Risque d'électrocution ! Les travaux de nettoyage et d'entretien
effectués avec accu inséré peuvent entraîner de graves blessures ou
brûlures.
▶Toujours retirer l'accu avant tous travaux de nettoyage et d'entretien !
Entretien de l'appareil
• Éliminer prudemment les saletés récalcitrantes.
• Nettoyer les ouïes d'aération avec précaution au moyen d'une brosse
sèche.
• Nettoyer le boîtier uniquement avec un chiffon légèrement humidifié. Ne
pas utiliser de nettoyants à base de silicone, ceci pourrait attaquer les
pièces en plastique.

Entretien des accus Liion
• Veiller à ce que l'accu soit toujours propre et exempt de traces de graisse
et d'huile.
• Nettoyer le boîtier uniquement avec un chiffon légèrement humidifié. Ne
pas utiliser de nettoyants à base de silicone, ceci pourrait attaquer les
pièces en plastique.
• Éviter toute pénétration d'humidité.
Entretien
• Vérifier régulièrement qu'aucune pièce visible n'est endommagée et que
les organes de commande sont parfaitement opérationnels.
• En cas d'endommagements et/ou de dysfonctionnements, ne pas utiliser

7 Transport et stockage
7.1 Transport et stockage des appareils sur accu
Transport
ATTENTION
Mise en marche inopinée lors du transport. Si les accus n'ont pas
été retirés, il y a risque de mise en marche inopinée lors du transport de
l'appareil, et que celui-ci soit alors endommagé.
▶Toujours retirer les accus avant de transporter l'appareil.
▶Retirer les accus.
▶Transporter l'appareil et les accus emballés séparément.
▶Ne jamais transporter les accus en vrac.
▶Avant toute utilisation consécutive à un transport prolongé de l'appareil
et des accus, toujours vérifier qu'ils ne sont pas endommagés.
Stockage
ATTENTION
Endommagement involontaire du fait d'accus défectueux. Des
accus qui coulent risquent d'endommager l'appareil.
▶Toujours retirer les accus avant de stocker l'appareil.
▶Stocker l'appareil et les accus si possible au frais et au sec.
