INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING INSULATED BASE TWIST LOCK
MODELS: HT8-1, HT8-1.2, DU-8, DU8X

WARNING: The insulated Base Twist Lock
must be fitted with a ground (earth) lead
as detailed in the following instructions.
1. To fit the new insulated Base Twist Lock (Part No.
911045) it is necessary to fit an additional lead to
provide grounding (earthing). This lead (Part
No. 163867 ) is included with your new base
twist lock and must installed as follows.
2. Fit the ring terminal of the new lead to a suitable
grounding (earthing ) point on the inside of the
main frame of the floor sander, the part adjacent
to the base twist lock hole. A suitable position on
modern machines is between the main frame
and the cover inlet (Part No.163636 ) using
screw (Part No. 962109) to retain it.
On older machines it may be necessary to drill a
hole and fit the ring terminal using a suitable
screw, lock washer and nut.
3. Fit the new Base-twist lock in the normal way
taking care to fit the new lead to the ground
(earth) terminal on the base. This terminal is
coloured green for identification.

4. Using standard procedure test for electrical
safety (Class 1 Earthed Appliance [U.K.] ). Do
not exceed 1250 volt flash duration of 3 seconds.
5. Record the test results.
6. Complete a functional (run) test and record
results.
CAUTION - when undertaking a
functional test ensure that the machine is
secure, remember the sanding drum will
rotate, ensure that the drum cannot come
into contact with the work bench/service
area.
