Before Use
Surroundings required for operating the balance
1. Avoid corrosion, the room temperature should be stable.
2. Place on a stable desk, professional balance table is recommended.
3. Place in a dry atmosphere, avoid strong air flow and intensive magnetic field.
Preparing for use
1. Unpack the package, take out the balance.
2. Clean the appliance with soft cloth or brush.
3. Put the s.s pan on the balance.
4. Connect the balance to the power supply.
Preheating
In order to obtain the accuracy of its use, the balance should be preheated for no
less than 30 minutes after it is connected to the power.

OPERATIONS
Calibration
After preheating, before use, it is necessary to calibrate the balance to obtain the
weighting accuracy.
1. Press TARE
Remove the items on the pan, press TARE to make sure the display of the balance is
zero (E.g.: BJA502).
2. Press CAL
Press CAL, the display will be “C”.
3. Put the standard weight
Put the standard weight on the pan according to Technical Parameter.
4. Finish Calibration
When the display of the balance equal to the weight of the standard weight and it
comes with a sound of du, which indicates the calibration is success, the balance
will return to the weighing mode automatically. Then you can remove the weitht.
(E.g.: BJA502)
Caution: After pressing CAL, if “CE”, an error sign, displays, it indicates the balance is unstable
or there are some items on the pan, then remove the items and then press TARE for
re-calibrating.
Weighing
1. Put required weighting goods on the pan and wait till the stable sign “O” appears,
then you can read the weight of the goods.
2. If second item is required, press TARE to zero the balance.
3. Put the second item on the pan, the display will be the weight of the 2nd item.
4. Press TARE again to make sure the display is zero.
5. Remove the two items on the pan, the display will be total weight of the two
items.
Counting
1. Remove the items on the pan, press TARE to make sure the display is zero.
2. Put 10 pieces of the required items on the pan, press PCS after the reading is
stable, the balance will turn into the counting mode, “10” will be displayed on the
balance.
3. Add or remove several items on the pan, the quantity will display automatically.
4. If you want to know the weight of the items on the pan, just press UNIT, it will
exchange the quantity to the weight value. Press UNIT again, it will back to
quantity display again.

5. If you want to exit the counting mode, just press PCS again in that mode.
Cautions: 1). Different types of items should be set respectively.
2). Each weight of counting items should be more than 10d, and the
difference of the weight of the items should be less than the accuracy of the
balance.
3). The ex-factory sample size for the counting function is set to 10, and there
are also 20,40,80, three shifts for selecting.
Percentage
The weight ratio between the two weights will be calculated
on the basis of the percentage counting function of the balance.
1. Remove the items on the pan, press TARE to make sure the display is zero
2. Put the reference sample on the pan, after the reading is stable, press
PERCENTAGE, the balance is in the PERCENTAGE mode, then the display will be
“100%”.
3. Add or remove the goods on the pan, the data displayed on the balance is the
percentage of the weight of the goods on the pan and that of the reference
sample
4. If you want to know the percentage of the weight of the added or removed
goods and that of the reference sample, press TARE first to make sure the display
is “0%”, then add or remove the goods.
5. If you want to know the weight of the goods on the pan, press UNIT, then the
percentage will be changed into weight display, then press UNIT again, the
weight will be changed into percentage.
6. If you want to exit the PERCENTAGE mode, just press PERCENTAGE again in that
mode.
Cautions 1). Different types of items should be set respectively.
2). The weight of the reference sample should be no less than 30% of the
permitted maximum weight, otherwise, “E1” will be displayed, in that case the
sample should be reset.
Unit
The conversion function of this balance is available, such as “g” can be changed into “ct”.
1. Remove the items on the pan, press TARE to make sure the display is zero.
2. Put one required item on the pan, when “g” displays, it indicates the reading is
stable, then the display of the balance is the weight of this item.
3. Press UNIT, the display will be the value of “ct”
4. Then press UNIT again, unit “ct” will be changed into “g”.
Output interface
With RS-232 output interface, the balance can be connected to other instruments

such as computer, electronic balance recording instrument.
