1.Thismanualwill helpyou assembleyour
B-25 Mitchell. Let’sstart withthe
installation of the brushless motors. Plug
the three motorwiresintothe three ESC
wires. Donot worryabout the plug-in
order; wewill check motorrotation ina
laterstep.
2.Feed the ESCand motorwiresback into
the engine nacelleand slide the motor
ontoitsmotormount.
3.Tighten setscrewwith1.5mm hexwrench
toholdthe motorinposition.
4.Set the twoengine cowlsaside till alater
step.

5.Locatethe variousY-connectors. See
photoforidentification. The triple
connectorisforthe retracts(Ch. 5). The Y
that doesnot havethe signalwireisfor
the lights.
6.Photoshowsthe root end of awing panel
and identifiesthe variousconnectors.
7.Locatethe tripleconnectorand plug in
one leg tothe connectorlabeled “5”.
Pleasemakesuretocorrectlyorient the
signalwireon the connectors.
8.Afterplugging the wirestogether, tape the
connection withcleartape toprevent them
fromdisconnecting.

9.Locatethe fuselage and applyabead of
glue tothe inside of the mainwing
opening.
10.Applyglue tothe root end of one main
wing panel.
11.Feed wiresintothe fuselage at front of the
wing opening and insert the wing intothe
fuselage. Makesurethat the wing isfully
seated intothe opening. When the wing is
inthe correct position it will looklikethe
photo, the flap line will be adjacent tothe
fuselage.
12.Insert the wirewing stiffenersfromthe
otherside of fuselage and repeat the
gluing process forthe second mainwing.

13.Again, makesurethat the wing isfully
seated inthe opening asshowninthe
photo.
14.Locatethe foamrectanglethat creates
the wirecoverforthe bottomof the wing.
Applyabead of glue around the edge.
15.Install the wirecoverasshowninthe
photo.
16.Locatethe horizontalstabilizer. Please
notethe orientation of the bell cranks in
the photo.

17.Insert the rudderpushrod Z-bend intothe
outermost holeon the inboardbell crank
asshowninthe photo. Repeat forthe
oppositeside of the stabilizer.
18.Placethe stabilizerinposition on the
fuselage and screwintoposition withthe
long screwsasshown. Note: it isnot
necessarytoglue the stab inposition.
19.. Snug eachscrewinposition. Donot over
tighten.
20.Attachthe elevatorpushrod tothe control
horninthe outermost hole. Afterpowering
up the radiosystemand withyourcontrol
trimsinneutraladjust clevisessothat the
elevatorsareinneutral.

21.Install the twoverticalfinson the
horizontalstabilizer. Asmall amount of
glue can be used if desired.
22.Screwfinintoposition asshown.
23.Install the short rudderpushrodstothe
outerbell cranks asshowninthe photo.
24.Lightlyglue the rearscrewcoverinto
position on the bottomof the fuselage.

25.Temporarilyinstall propson the motors.
PLEASE NOTE: Bothleft and right hand
propsareprovided inthe kit. Werecommend
that the B-25 prop rotation be setup withthe
tipsof the propsrotating towardthe wingtips
at the top of theirrotation. Thismeansthat
fromthe pilotsseat the right engine isrotating
clockwiseand the left engine counter
clockwise. If eithermotorisnot turning inthe
correct direction, swap anytwoof the three
motorwirestoreverseitsdirection.
26.Afterremoving the props, install the
engine cowls. Three small black screws
areprovided foreachcowland wooden
cowlmounting blocks arepre-installed on
the nacelles.
27.Makesurethat the cowlincentered
correctlyand the motorshaft turnsfreely,
then screwintoposition.
28.Re-install the propellerswiththe right
hand rotation prop on the right motorand
the left hand rotation one on the left motor.
29.Useaflat washer, lock washerand anut
toholdeachprop.

30.Screwplasticprop hub tothe shaft of the
motorasshown.
31.Locatethe injection molded detail parts.
Glue the cockpit airintakesinplacewitha
small amount of glue.
32.The finaerialisinstalled on the top of the
fuselage behind the ball turret.
33.The teardrop antenna isglued inplaceon
the bottomof the fuselage behind the
nosegeardoor.

34.Makepilot holesforthe gun barrelswitha
thinPhillipsscrewdriverorlengthof music
wire. Install gun barrelsasshown.
35.Makepilot holeforside gun blisterbarrel
and install asshown.
36.Install twogun barrelsintail position.
37.Using abodyreamer, createholesinthe
top turret toaccept the gun barrels.

38.Install barrelsinturret.
39.Applyathinbead of glue tothe edge of
the nosegreenhouseand install on
fuselage. Usethe artworkasaguide to
orientation.
40.Withmodelon itsback, markapoint that
is2-1/2”back fromthe leading edge of the
wing next tothe fuselage. Thisisthe CG
forthismodel. All initialflightsshouldbe
flownwiththe CG no furtheraft than this.
Aftertest and trimflightsadjust the CG to
suit yourflying style.
41.Install yourradioreceiverbeing carefulto
plug eachconnectortothe proper
channel.

42.Install the powerY-conn toeachESC
making surethat you plug the red-to-red
and black-to-black. Feed the Deansplug
intothe cockpit area of the fuselage.
43.The flight batteryislocated underthe
cockpit. Lift fromthe reartoremove. A
3-cell Lipo batteryof approx. 2500mAhis
about right forsizeand weight.
44.Eachlanding gearsequencercontrols
one geardoorand one gearleg.The three
plugsconnect withthe signalwiretothe
rearof the sequencer(awayfromlabel).
45.Makesurethat the sequencerand motor
wiresareneatlytucked awaysothat they
do not interferewiththe landing gear
wheelwhen the gearisretracted.

46.When the landing gearisretracted any
wiresshouldnot obstruct the wheel.
47.When the gearisinthe downposition it
shouldlock sothat it doesnot collapse
underload.
48.Withthe modelupside downand your
transmitterturned ONwiththe throttlein
the OFF position;plug a3-cell Lipo battery
tothe Deansplug topowerup the system.
Check that eachcontrolsurfaceisworking
withthe correct stick movement and inthe
correct direction, adjust asnecessary
49.The B-25 includesthree landing gear
sequencing modules, one foreachgear
location.

Preflight
If you arenewtoflying R/Caircraft, oraseasoned modeler, werecommend you havea
fellowR/Cmodelerhelpyou withthe first flight. Someitemsyou will need tocomplete
on yourfirst preflight are:
1.Aircraft assembled correctlyand readyforflight.
2.All controlthrowsand exposareset perthismanual.
3.Transmitterfullycharged and on correct model.
4.Aircraft balancesat the recommended location. (2-1/2”aft of wing Leading Edge)
5.Flight Batteriesarefullycharged and secure.
6.All electronics areoperating correctly, properdirection, and secure.
7.CompletearadioRange Check peryourradiomanual.
8.Balancepropellerand makesureit issecure.
9.Wait foracalmorlight wind dayforfirst flights.
10.If you arenewtoR/Cflying, considerhaving an accomplished flyermakethe first
flight and trimthe aircraft. Abuddy-boxtraining systemisalsoveryhelpful.
Flying
The B-25 hasverygood ground handling characterdue toitswide stancetricycle
landing gear. Thismakestaxiand take-off an easy task. Point the noseintothe wind
and smoothlyadvancethe throttle, usealittleruddertomaintainastraight line and as
the speed increaseseaseback on the elevatorforasmoothlift off. Oncethe gearare
clearhit the retract switchand watchthe gearslowlycomeup and then the geardoors
swing closed. The flight isscalelooking withmoderatespeed, climbisstrong; the two
counterrotating propsprovide alot of thrust without the associated torque. Mild
aerobatics can be performed, loops, rollsand inverted arepossiblebut not particularly
scale. Touch-and-go’sareajoy, set up on the runwayand drop the gear, easeback on
the throttlesand lightlytouchdown, feed infull throttleand easeback intothe sky.
Landingsarebest accomplished bymaintaining alittlepowercompletelythrough the
touchdown. The working position lightsallowyou tocontinue flying right up todusk.

GENERAL
1.Amodelaircraft shall be defined asanon-human-carrying devicecapableofsustained flight in
the atmosphere. It shall not exceed limitationsestablished inthiscode and isintended tobe used
exclusivelyforrecreationalorcompetition activity.
2.The maximumtakeoff weight ofamodelaircraft, including fuel, is55 pounds, except forthose
flownunderthe AMA ExperimentalAircraft Rules.
3.I will abide bythisSafetyCode and all rulesestablished forthe flying siteI use. I will not willfully
flymymodelaircraft inareckless and/ordangerousmanner.
4.I will not flymymodelaircraft insanctioned events, airshows, ormodeldemonstrationsuntil it
hasbeen proven airworthy.
5.Iwill notflymymodelaircrafthigherthan approximately400 feetaboveground level,when within
three (3)milesofan airport without notifying the airport operator. I will yieldthe right-of-wayand
avoidflying inthe proximityoffull-scaleaircraft, utilizing aspotterwhen appropriate.
6.I will not flymymodelaircraft unless it isidentified withmynameand address, orAMA number,
inside oraffixed tothe outside ofthe modelaircraft. Thisdoesnot applytomodelaircraft flown
indoors.
7.I will not operatemodelaircraft withmetal-blade propellersorwithgaseousboosts(otherthan
air), norwill I operatemodelaircraft withfuelscontaining tetranitromethane orhydrazine.
8.I will not operatemodelaircraft carrying pyrotechnicdevices, whichexplode, burn, orpropela
projectileofanykind. Exceptionsinclude Free Flight fusesordevicesthat burnproducing smoke
and aresecurelyattached tothe modelaircraft during flight. Rocket motorsup toaG-seriessize
maybe used, provided theyremainfirmlyattached tothe modelaircraft during flight. Model
rocketsmaybe flowninaccordancewiththe NationalModelRocketry SafetyCode; however,
theymaynot be launched frommodelaircraft. Officiallydesignated AMA AirShowTeams(AST)
areauthorized tousedevicesand practicesasdefined withinthe AirShowAdvisory Committee
Document.
9.I will not operatemymodelaircraft whileunderthe influenceofalcoholorwithineight(8)hoursof
having consumed alcohol.
10.I will not operatemymodelaircraftwhileusing anydrug whichcouldadverselyaffectmyabilityto
safelycontrolmymodelaircraft.
11.Children undersix(6)yearsoldareonlyallowed on aflightline orinaflight area asapilot or
whileunderflight instruction.
12.When and whererequired byrule, helmetsmust be properlywornand fastened. Theymust be
OSHA, DOT, ANSI, SNELL orNOCSAE approved orcomplywithcomparablestandards.
RADIO CONTROL
1.All modelflying shall be conducted inamannertoavoidoverflight ofunprotected people.
2.I will havecompleted asuccessfulradioequipment ground-range check beforethe first flight ofa
neworrepaired modelaircraft.
3.I will not flymymodelaircraftinthe presenceofspectatorsuntil Ibecomeaproficientflier,unless
I amassisted byan experienced pilot.
4.At all flying sitesaline mustbe established,infrontofwhichall flying takesplace.Onlypersonnel
associated withflying the modelaircraft areallowed at orinfront ofthe line. Inthe caseof
airshowsdemonstrationsstraight line must be established. Anarea awayfromthe line must be
maintained forspectators. Intentionalflying behind the line isprohibited.
5.I will operatemymodelaircraft using onlyradio-controlfrequenciescurrentlyallowed bythe
FederalCommunicationsCommission (FCC). Onlyindividualsproperlylicensed bythe FCC are
authorized tooperateequipment on AmateurBand frequencies.
6.I will not knowinglyoperatemymodelaircraft withinthree (3)milesofanypreexisting flying site
without afrequency-management agreement. Afrequency management agreement maybe an
allocation offrequenciesforeachsite, aday-useagreement between sites, ortesting which
determinesthat no interferenceexists. Afrequency-management agreement mayexist between
twoormoreAMA chartered clubs, AMA clubsand individualAMA members, orindividualAMA
members. Frequency-management agreements, including an interferencetest report ifthe
agreement indicatesno interferenceexists, will be signed byall partiesand copiesprovided to
AMA Headquarters.
7.Withthe exception ofeventsflownunderofficialAMA rules, no powered modelmaybe flown
outdoorscloserthan 25 feet toanyindividual, except forthe pilot and located at the flightline.

8.Underno circumstancesmayapilot orotherperson touchamodelaircraft inflight whileit isstill
underpower, except todivert it fromstriking an individual.
9.Radio-controlled nightflying islimited tolow-performancemodelaircraft(less than 100 mph).The
modelaircraft must be equipped withalighting systemwhichclearlydefinesthe aircraft'sattitude
and direction at all times.
10.The operatorofaradio-controlled modelaircraftshall controlitduring the entireflight, maintaining
visualcontact without enhancement otherthan bycorrectivelensesthat areprescribed forthe
pilot. No modelaircraft shall be equipped withdeviceswhichallowit tobe flowntoaselected
location whichisbeyond the visualrange ofthe pilot.
PARK FLYERSAFEOPERATING RECOMMENDATIONS
• Inspect yourmodelbeforeevery flight tomakecertainit isairworthy.
• Beawareofanyotherradiofrequency userwho maypresent an interferenceproblem.
• Alwaysbe courteousand respectfulofotherusersofyourselected flight area.
• Choosean area clearofobstaclesand large enough tosafelyaccommodateyourflying activity.
• Makecertainthisarea isclearoffriendsand spectatorspriortolaunching youraircraft.
• Beawareofotheractivitiesinthe vicinityofyourflight paththat couldcausepotentialconflict.
• Carefullyplan yourflight pathpriortolaunch.
• Abide byanyand all established AMA NationalModelAircraft SafetyCode.
