Thankyou forpurchasing the F-86. Thismodelisdesigned forthe intermediatetoadvanced
flyer. The modelisreceiverreadyand includeseverything that you need toassembleand fly
yourF-86, except forthe radiotransmitterand receiver. Pleaseread the following instructions
carefully, assemblyiseasy and shouldonlytakean hourorso.

the instruction and supervision of an adult withmodeling experience.

1.Donot flyinstrong wing orbad weather.
2.Neverflythe modelincrowded areaswheretherearelotsof people, automobileson
the road orpowerlinesoverhead. Donot flynearfull-scaleairport.
3.Makesurethat you haveenough open area forflying asthe modelcan travelat ahigh
rateof speed and coveralot of area quickly. Initialflightsshouldbe made inan area
withaminimumsizeof afootball field.
4.Thismodelisnot recommended forchildren underthe age of 14.
5.When charging the LiPobatteriesalways charge themon anon-flammablesurfaceand
monitorthe charge process. Impropercharging of LiPobatteriesisdangerousand can
lead toafire!
6.The F-86 ismade fromEPO foamand plastic. Thesematerialsareflammableand can
be damaged byhigh heat. NeverleaveyourF-86 nearaheat sourceorinan
automobile.
7.Donot attempt tocatchyourF-86 whileflying.
8.NeverleaveyourF-86 unattended when readyforflight.
9.When preparing forflight, always turnon yourtransmitterfirst and makesurethat your
throttleisinthe off position priortoplugging inthe flight batteries. Failuretofollowthis
step maylead tounintended motorstart and damage tothe model.

1. Open boxand carefullyunwrap all parts.
2. Locatehorizontaltail parts. 3. Screwcontrolhornsinplace.
4. Applyglue tomating surfaceson bottomof tail and rearof fuselage. Useeitherfoamglue or
5-minuteepoxy.
5. Press intoposition and check alignment. Applyglue tobottomof verticalfin.
6. Applyglue totail finslot inrearof fuselage, insert fininslot and check alignment.
7. Locatecontrolhornsforailerons. Screwinplacewith2screwseach.
8.Install Z-bend end ofaileron pushrod intooutermostservohole,attachclevistocontrolhorn.
9.Locatethe4wingmountscrewsand plywood washers.Applyglue torootofonewing panel.
You areonlygluing the 2wing halvestogether, do not applyglue tosurfacesthat attachto
fuselage
10.Slipon halfofwing intoposition on the fuselage making surethatthe lipofthe ducted fan is
inthe grooveon the wing.
11. Slipthe otherwing half on tofuselage and install screws.
12.Locatethe plasticdrop tankreinforcement. Applyglue and install on bottomof drop tanks.
13.Applyglue todrop tankpylon and install on bottomof eachwing panel.
14. Attachthe clevistoelevatorcontrolhornson eachhalf of horizontaltail. Install receiverin
rearof cockpit area and plug aileron, elevatorand throttleintoappropriatechannels. AY-
connectorissupplied thatcan be used toconnectbothaileronstoone channel.If yourreceiver
allowsthe useof separateaileron channels, you will not need the Y-connector.
15. Placebatteryinfuselage and install Velcrothrough the slotsinbatterytray.Strap batteryin
placeasshown. Batteryand ESChavepre-installed genuine DeansUltraplugsforexcellent
connectivityand reliableperformance.
16. Canopyhaspre-installed magnetsat the front. Insert tab at rearof canopyand snap front
intoposition. Asheet of waterslide stardecalsissupplied; followthe photoon the boxforstar
placement. Soakdecalinwaterforabout 15 secondsand let stand for60 secondsthen slide
off backing paperintoposition on airplane. Allowdecalstodrybeforeflight.
17. Aileron controlthrowsare7/16”up and 5/16”down.If using the Y-connectoryou will notbe
abletoadjust aileron differential. Set the up throwtobe about 7/16”-1/2”. Elevatorcontrol
throwsare7/16”inbothdirections.
18. The Centerof Gravityrange forthe F-86 isfromabout 3”to3-3/8”back fromthe front of
the wing panelsinthe center. Adjust the position of the batterytoachievecorrect balance.
Neverattempt toflyamodelthat isnot correctlybalanced.
Preparationbeforeflight
19. Set throttletothe lowest position 20. Turnon the transmitter
And set transmittertrimstoneutral.
21. Connect the flight batterytothe ESC. AfterESCinitializescheck that the correct
channeliscontrolling all controlsurfacesand that theyaretraveling inthe correct direction
when commanded. Example: right stick moved tothe right and the aileron on the right wing
movesupwardwhilethe aileron on the left wing movesdownward.
22. Adjust eachcontrolsurfacetoitsneutralposition bymechanicallyadjusting eachclevis.

Elevator-7/16” Upand Down
Aileron-7/16” Up5/16” Down
Afterinitialflightsadjust the controlthrowstobest suit yourflying styleand ability.
Check beforeflight
1.Makesurethat yourtransmitterisfullycharged. Conduct arange test of yourradio
systemperthe manufacturer’sspecs.
2.Check all flying surfacesforcorrect direction ofmovement, correctamountofmovement
and forcorrect centering, adjust asrequired.
3.Fullycharge yourflight batteriespriortoflying.
4.Hand launchintothe wind and land intothe wind.
FlightAdjustment
1.Oninitialflight climbtoabout 75-100 feet and see if anytrimisrequired. If the model
rollstothe right, applysomeleft aileron trimtolevelthe wings. If the modeldives, apply
someup elevatortrim, ect.
2.Landing shouldbe made intothe wind, reducethe throttletojust aboveidleand keep
the noseleveloralittlehigh allowing the airplane tosinktowardthe ground. Applya
littlethrottleasthe modelreachesan altitude of afoot orso, thiswill slowthe descent
and aidinthe flaretoasmoothlanding.
