11. This appliance has NO user-serviceable parts. Do NOT attempt to
examine or repair this appliance yourself. ONLY qualied and approved
service personnel should perform servicing.
12. This appliance is intended for HOUSEHOLD and INTERIOR USE ONLY
and cannot be used for any other purpose. This item is NOT a toy.
13. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and pets. This appliance
is NOT intended to be used by children and strict supervision is
necessary when used near children.
14. Do NOT leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.
15. Do NOT use any attachments or accessories that are not recommended
or sold and approved by the manufacturer for this appliance.
16. Always operate the appliance on a dry, at, stable, heat-resistant
surface to avoid accidents.
17. Do NOT move the appliance while it is in use. Always let it cool before
moving.
18. Do NOT let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
19. To be safe use an oven mitt when opening and closing the lid.

WARNING: During the rst few minutes of initial use, you may notice
a little smoke and/or a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly
disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few times.

• EXTENSION CORDS
A short power-supply cord is to provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable
power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if
care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or
extension cord is used:
1 . The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be
at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
2 . The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled
on unintentionally by children or the user.

• POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not t contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
HOW TO OPERATE
BEFORE FIRST USE:
1 . Unpack the appliance and all its parts. Remove all packaging materials,
including any stickers or labels.
2 . Read these instructions carefully.
3 . Clean the interior surface of the appliance with a damp cloth. Wipe
dry with a soft cloth immediately. Do not use abrasive materials. Wipe
down the exterior with a soft dry cloth.
4 . NEVER IMMERSE APPLIANCE OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
5 . Position the appliance on a stable, dry, level, heat-resistant surface near
an electrical outlet.
6 . Unroll the electrical cord.
7 . Operate this appliance on a separate outlet and circuit from other
appliances to avoid overloading the circuit.

CAUTION: The surfaces of the appliance get hot. To avoid accidental
burns, scalping or steam being released while cooking, always open
and close the lid by using an oven mitt.
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
USING THE APPLIANCE:
1 . This appliance is intended ONLY for household use of baking empanadas.
2 . Prepare empanada dough and lling following the recipe instructions.
3 . Release the safety lock and lift the lid to the open position.
4 . Coat the non-stick surface with a small amount of vegetable oil. This
can be done with a paper towel or with a non-stick cooking oil spray.
Wipe o any excess oil. It is recommended to periodically do this after
use to maintain the quality of the non-stick coating.
5 . Check and conrm the voltage of the appliance is the same as the
outlets. Then, plug the electrical cord into the outlet carefully on a
separate outlet from other appliances to prevent the circuit from being
overloaded.
6 . Close the appliance after plugging it in, and allow it to pre-heat.
7 . The red indicator light will turn on as soon as you connect the
appliance. The red indicator light will turn o when the appliance
reaches the maximum operating temperature. The appliance is ready to
cook as soon as the red light turns o. Note: the red indicator light will
turn on and o during use; it does not reect cooking completion, only
temperature cycles from min to max.
8 . Open the appliance carefully with an oven mitt, always grabbing it by

the cool touch handle.
9 . Place the empanada on top of the empanada shapes on the lower plate,
make sure that the edges of the empanada dough are well aligned with
the empanada shape in the plate.
10. Close the lid and allow to cook for 7-10 minuntes, or until fully cooked.
11. After the empanadas are ready, carefully remove them by using an oven
mitt and a heat resistant wood or plastic spatula. DO NOT use metal
utensils because they will scratch and damage the non-stick coated surface.
12. If cooking more than one batch in a session, after removing the rst
batch, allow the item to cool for 5 mins before the next batch.
13. As soon as you are nished cooking, unplug the appliance and allow it to
cool.
CLEANING
Proper maintenance will ensure years of service of your appliance. Clean the
appliance after every use following these steps. This appliance contains no
user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance.
WARNING: The surfaces of the item will get very hot during use,
unplug the appliance and allow cooling before cleaning.
1 . Clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the pie maker with a damp
cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
2 . To remove dough baked onto the cooking surface, pour a small amount
of cooking oil onto the hardened batter. After 5 minutes, carefully wipe
with a paper towel or dry cloth.
3 . NEVER USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS OR SCOURING PADS TO CLEAN THE

STORAGE
1 . After following the steps of cleaning and maintenance, collect the
power cord.
2 . Store the appliance in a dry and clean place.

STEPS TO MAKE EMPANADAS USING THE
PLASTIC SHEET (WHITE CORN FLOUR DOUGH)
Place the plastic sheet on a at
surface.
Strech out the dough to the edge of
the circle by using your ngers.
Place the empanada corn dough ball
on the center of the printed circle.

Place your favorite ingredient in the
center of the dough. Do not overll.
Press the edges of the dough
around the printed line.
Grab the two top edges of the
plastic sheet and fold over the
dotted line.
Grab the two top edges of the
plastic sheet and peel it back.

Remove the excess dough (if any)
from the edges by using your
ngers.
Place the empanada dough in its
place, making sure it is in the right
position on the nonstick plate on
top of the empanada shape.
Carefully remove the empanada
from the plastic sheet.
Serve hot and enjoy!

TIPS
• Place the empanadas on a wire rack to cool down for a few minutes. Do not
pile them on top of one another after cooking, otherwise they will soften.
• Do not overll the empanadas because it will cause breakage and spills.
• Make sure to press down the edges rmly as instructed, so the lling
does not spill while baking.
• Make sure the lling is chilled and not runny (watery) before placing in
the center of the dough. Do not use hot or raw llings.
• The best llings are high quality cooked meats, shredded cheeses, and/
or cooked vegetables.
If using white corn our dough:
• If too soft and hard to manage, place more our and knead until it is
easy to expand and to make a small ball.
• When making the dough you can add a tablespoon of grated parmesan
cheese for added avor.
If using a pre-cut empanada dough:
• If frozen, make sure you let it defrost before using.

Ingredients:
• 2 cups white corn our
• 1 1/2 cups warm water
• 1 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• 2 cups seasoned and cooked shredded chicken
Steps:
• Place all ingredients, except chicken, in a large bowl and knead well with
hands.
• Form the dough into small balls and set aside.
• Follow the steps to make empanadas using the included plastic sheet.
• Serve with sliced avocado.
• Enjoy!

Ingredients:
• 1 package of pre-cut empanada dough
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 6 slices of bacon
Steps:
• Preheat a skillet and cook the bacon. Drain the excess fat and let it cool.
Then cut the bacon into small pieces.
• Mix the bacon with the cheddar cheese and set aside.
• Follow the steps to make empanadas using the included plastic sheet.
• Serve with sour cream and chives.
• Enjoy!

Plantain &
Cheese Empanadas

Steps:
• Slice the plantains in half.
• Boil the plantains for 20-30 minutes (until peels fall o).
• Remove from water and peel.
• In a large bowl mash the plantains.
• Add sugar, vanilla, and salt to mixture.
• Kneed in the our.
• Roll the dough in to small balls.
• Follow the steps to make empanadas using the included plastic sheet
(WHITE CORN FLOUR DOUGH).
• Fill your empanadas with mozzarella.
• Serve and enjoy!
Ingredients:
• 4 ripe plantains
• 2 tbsp sugar
• A pinch of salt
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 cups all purpose our
• 1/2 cup of mozzarella

Ground Beef
Empanadas
Note: Recipe makes aprox 10 -11 batches
Ingredients:
• 1/2 tbsp of vegetable oil
• 4 oz ground beef
• 1/4 tsp salt
• Pinch of ground pepper
• 1/4 cup chopped pitted green olives
• 1/4 cup raisins
• 1/4 white onion chopped
• 1/4 cup canned tomato puree
• Pre-cut empanada dough
Steps:
• Heat oil in sauté pan over medium heat.
• Brown the ground beef.
• Season with salt and pepper.
• Add olives, raisins and onions.
• Add the tomato puree.
• Simmer for 10 minutes.
• Allow to cool before lling your empanada.
• Follow the steps to make empanadas using the included plastic sheet
(PRE-CUT DOUGH).
• Serve and enjoy!
