READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, ensure the electricity
has been turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before
you begin.
2. All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electrical
Code ANSI/NFPA 70 and local electrical codes. Electrical
installation should be performed by a qualified licensed
electrician.
3. The outlet box and support structure must be securely
mounted and capable of reliably supporting a minimum of
35 lbs. (15.9 kg). Use only UL-listed outlet boxes marked
“Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or less.”
4. The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 10 ft (3.05 m)
of clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor.
5. Do not place objects in the path of the blades.
6. To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other
items, use caution when working around or cleaning the
fan.
7. After making electrical connections, spliced conductors
should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into the
outlet box. The wires should be spread apart with the
grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding
conductor on one side of the outlet box.
8. All set screws must be checked and retightened where
necessary before installation.

not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
WARNING: To avoid possible electrical shock, turn
the electricity off at the main fuse box before wiring. If you
feel you do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or
experience, contact a licensed electrician.

or personal injury, mount to outlet box marked

use screws provided with the outlet box.
WARNING: Electrical diagrams are for reference only. If
you are using a light kit, refer to the light kit

Optional use of any light kit shall be UL-listed and marked
suitable for use with this fan.

model number E08BT+MR181A-3.

fan must be installed with an isolating wall switch.

CAUTION: Fan cannot be controlled with a dimmer but
can be controlled with a wall mounted fan speed control.

approved by the party responsible for compliance could void

The supplier warrants the fan motor to be free from defects in workmanship and material present at time of shipment from the factory for a
lifetime after the date of purchase by the original purchaser. The supplier also warrants that all other fan parts, excluding any glass or
acrylic blades, to be free from defects in workmanship and material at the time of shipment from the factory for a period of two years after
the date of purchase by the original purchaser. We agree to correct such defects without charge or at our option replace with a comparable
or superior model if the product is returned. To obtain warranty service, you must present a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase. All
costs of removing and reinstalling the product are your responsibility. Damage to any part such as by accident or misuse or improper
installation or by affixing any accessories, is not covered by this warranty. Because of varying climatic conditions this warranty does not
cover any changes in brass finish, including rusting, pitting, corroding, tarnishing, or peeling. Brass finishes of this type give their longest
useful life when protected from varying weather conditions. A certain amount of “wobble” is normal and should not be considered a defect.
Servicing performed by unauthorized persons shall render the warranty invalid. There is no other express warranty. Home Decorators
Collection hereby disclaims any and all warranties, including but not limited to those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
to the extent permitted by law. The duration of any implied warranty which cannot be disclaimed is limited to the time period as specified in
the express warranty. Some states do not allow a limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to
you. The retailer shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with product use or

Installation- Mounting options
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock
or personal injury, mount to outlet box marked
“Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs. (15.9 Kg) or less”, and
use screws provided with the outlet box. An outlet box
commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures may not
be acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced.
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
If your ceiling fan does not have an existing UL-listed mounting
box, then install one using the following instructions:
Disconnect the power by removing the fuses or turning off the
circuit breakers.
Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure. Use the
appropriate fasteners and materials. The outlet box and support
structure must be securely mounted and capable of-reliably
supporting a minimum of 35 lbs. (15.9kg). Use only UL-listed
outlet boxes marked “Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs. (15.9
Kg) or less” Do not use a plastic outlet box. The illustrations
below show three different ways to mount the outlet box.
If the canopy touches the downrod, then remove the decorative
canopy bottom cover, and turn the canopy 180°before attaching
the canopy to the mounting plate.
To hang your fan where there is an existing fixture but no ceiling
joist, you may need an installation hanger bar as shown above
(available at any Home Depot store).

Insert the end of downrod (B) through the connector (PP),
and align the two holes in the downrod (B) and the
connector (PP).
Insert a plug pin (GG) through the two holes in the downrod
(B) and the connector (PP).
Insert the R-shaped pin (HH) though the hole near the end of
the plug pin (GG) until it snaps into its locked position.
Install the screw (FF) to the connector (PP), and make sure
it’s tight.
Insert the canopy (C) and metal cover (D) through the
downrod (B).
Insert the hanger ball (J) through the downrod (B), and then
insert a headless plug pin (Q) through the hole in the
downrod (B).
Insert the headless plug pin (Q) to the slot cut off in the
hanger ball (J) until it snaps into its locked position.
Tighten the screw (KK) securely.

3 Hanging the fixture on the ceiling 4Making the electrical connection
Install the ceiling mounting bracket (A) on the outlet box by
using the washer and the mounting screws provided with the
outlet box.
Put the hanger ball (J) through the open side of the ceiling
mounting bracket (A), and then insert the hanger ball (J) to the
slot cut off in the ceiling mounting bracket (A).
The fan comes with 36 in. lead wires for use with an extended
ball/downrod assembly. If using the 6 in. ball/downrod
assembly (B) provided, you can cut the lead wires to your
desired length (no shorter than 12 in.). This will make extra
room in the canopy (C). If you do not wish to cut the wires, you
will need to neatly wrap them.
Connect the fan motor blue wires to the receiver (M) blue using
a wire nut (JJ), the fan motor white wires to the receiver (M)
white wire using a wire nut (JJ), and the fan motor black wires
to the receiver (M) black wire using a wire nut (JJ).
Connect the receiver (M) white wires to the filter (O) white wire
using a wire nut (JJ), and the receiver (M) black wires
to the filter (O) black wire using a wire nut (JJ). Connect
the filter (O) white wires to the outlet box white wire using a
wire nut (JJ), and the filter (O) black wires to the outlet box
black wire using a wire nut (JJ). Connect the filter (O) ground
wire to the outlet box ground wire using a wire nut (JJ).
Connect two fan motor ground wires to the outlet box ground
wires using a wire nut (JJ).
Secure each wire connecting nut using electrical tape.
Turn the wire nuts (JJ) upward and push the wiring into the
outlet box.

Push the receiver (M) and filter (O) into the ceiling mounting bracket
(A). (See below detail)
Align the locking slots of the canopy (C) with the two screws (FF) in
the mounting bracket (A). Push up to engage the slots and to lock in
place.
Rotate the metal cover (D) clockwise to lock in the bottom of the
canopy (C).
Tighten the screws (LL) securely.
Insert the fan blades (L) though the shaft (U), install bottom plastic
cover (N) onto the fan shaft after the blade assembly (L) is installed
Align the locking slots of the metal grill (G) with three knurled screws
(H) in the cage (E). Push up to engage the slots and to lock in place.
Screw light bulbs (F) into the fixture sockets.

Operation
REMOTE CONTROL
Your fan is equipped with a remote control to operate
the speed, direction, and light for your new ceiling fan.
Speed setting for warm or cool weather depends on
factors such as the room size, ceiling height, number
of fans and so on.
Warm weather – (Forward, push the reverse switch to left)
A downward airflow creates a cooling effect. This allows you
to set your air conditioner on a warmer setting without affecting
your comfort.
Cool weather - (Reverse, push the reverse switch to right)
An upward airflow moves warm air off of the ceiling. This allows
you to set your heating unit on a cooler setting without affecting
your comfort.

Preparing the Remote Control
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
Please note that all fixed wiring appliances should be installed by a qualified electrician.
The supply to the remote control receiver should be connected through a mains switch, i.e.
existing wall switch.
Disconnect from power supply at the wall switch before working on the remote control
receiver or ceiling fan.
Install the receiver into the ceiling fan canopy of the fan to ensure proper protection.
This unit is to be used for the control of ceiling fan and in an AC110/120V 60Hz power supply
only.
Do not install in damp locations or immerse in water. (For indoor use only.)
Do not pull on or cut leads shorter. Do not drop or bump the unit.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire or injury, do not use
this product in conjunction with any variable (rheostat) wall
control.
NOTE: The remote control has already been paired
to the ceiling fan for your convenience.
FUNCTIONS OF TRANSMITTER
OFF: Turn off the ceiling fan.
HI: Turn on the fan at high speed.
MED: Turn on the fan at medium speed.
LOW: Turn on the fan at low speed.
LIGHT: ON/OFF- Press and release immediately to turn on or off the light.
DIMMER (If any)- Press and hold on to dimmer or brighten the light.

1. Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, s’assurer que
l’électricité a été coupée au coupe-circuit ou à la boîte de
fusibles avant de commencer.
2. L’ensemble du câblage doit être conforme au National
Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70 et aux codes électriques
locaux. L’installation électrique doit être confiée à un
électricien qualifié.
3. La boîte de sortie et la structure de soutien doivent être
solidement montées et capables de soutenir 35 lb (15,9 kg)
de manière fiable. Utiliser seulement des boîtes de sortie
homologuées UL marquées « Acceptable for Fan Support of
35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or less ».
4. Le ventilateur doit être monté avec un dégagement
minimum de 10 pi (3,05 m) du bord arrière des pales au

8. Toutes les vis de calage doivent être vérifiées et resserrées
si nécessaire avant installation.
AVERTISSEMENT : Pour réduire le risque de départ de
feu ou de choc électrique, ne pas utiliser ce ventilateur avec
tout régulateur de vitesse à semi-conducteurs.
AVERTISSEMENT : Pour éviter tout choc électrique,
couper l’électricité à la boîte de fusibles principale avant de
procéder au câblage. Si l’utilisateur ne pense pas avoir de
connaissances ou d’expérience suffisantes dans les
branchements électriques, contacter un électricien qualifié.

Installation – Options de montage
AVERTISSEMENT : Pour réduire le risque de départ de
feu, de choc électrique ou de blessures, monter sur une
boîte de sortie marquée « Acceptable for fan support of
35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or less » et utiliser seulement les vis
fournies avec la boîte de sortie. Il est possible qu’une boîte
de sortie couramment utilisée pour des luminaires ne soit
pas acceptable pour un ventilateur et doive être remplacée.
En cas de doute, consulter un électricien qualifié.
Si le ventilateur de plafond n’a pas de boîte de montage
homologuée UL, en installer une en suivant une des instructions
suivantes :
Couper l’alimentation en enlevant les fusibles ou en désactivant
le coupe-circuit.
Attacher la boîte de sortie directement à la charpente du
bâtiment. Utiliser les attaches et le matériel appropriés. La boîte
de sortie et la structure de soutien doivent être solidement
montées et capables de soutenir 35 lb (15,9 kg) minimum.
Utiliser seulement des boîtes de sortie homologuées UL
marquées « Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or
less ». Ne pas utiliser de boîte de sortie en plastique. Les
illustrations ci-dessous montrent trois manières différentes de
monter la boîte de sortie.
Si le couvercle touche la tige, enlever le cache-collier de moteur
décoratif et tourner le couvercle de 180° avant de l’attacher à la
plaque de montage.
Pour suspendre le ventilateur à un endroit où il y a un luminaire
mais pas de solive de plafond, il est possible que l’utilisation
d’une barre de suspension (illustrée ci-dessus) soit nécessaire
pour l’installation (disponible dans tout magasin Home Depot).

Enfiler l’extrémité de la tige (B) dans le connecteur (PP) et
aligner les deux trous de la tige (B) et du connecteur (PP).
Enfiler la goupille-bouchon (GG) dans les deux trous de la
tige (B) et du connecteur (PP).
Enfiler la goupille en forme de R (HH) dans le trou près de
l’extrémité de la goupille-bouchon (GG), jusqu’à ce qu’elle
s’enclenche en position verrouillée.
Monter la vis (FF) sur le connecteur (PP) et s’assurer qu’elle
est bien serrée.
Enfiler le couvercle (C) et le couvercle métallique (D) dans la
tige (B).
Enfiler et faire descendre la boule de suspension (J) sur la
tige (B), puis enfiler une goupille-bouchon sans tête (Q) dans
de la tige (B).
Enfiler la goupille-bouchon sans tête (Q) dans la découpe de
la boule de suspension (J) jusqu’à ce qu’elle s’enclenche en
position verrouillée.
Resserrer la vis (KK) en toute sécurité.

3 Suspension du luminaire au
plafond 4Branchements électriques
Monter le support de montage au plafond (A) sur la boîte de
sortie à l’aide de la rondelle et des vis de fixation fournies avec
la boîte de sortie.
Faire passer la boule de suspension (J) dans l’ouverture du
support de montage au plafond (A), puis insérer la boule de
suspension (J) dans la découpe du support de montage au
plafond (A).
Le ventilateur est fourni avec des fils conducteurs de 91,4 cm
à utiliser avec un assemblage boule/tige long. Si l’assemblage
boule/tige de 15,2 cm (B) fourni est utilisé, les fils conducteurs
peuvent être coupés à la longueur désirée (pas moins de
30,5 cm). Cela laissera plus de place pour le couvercle (C). Si
les fils ne sont pas coupés, les enrouler proprement.
Brancher le fil bleu du moteur du ventilateur sur le fil bleu du
récepteur (M) avec un serre-fils (JJ), le fil blanc du moteur du
ventilateur sur le fil blanc du récepteur (M) avec un serre-fils
(JJ), et le fil noir du moteur du ventilateur sur le fil noir du
récepteur (M) avec un serre-fils (JJ).
Raccordez les fils blancs du récepteur (M) au fil blanc du filtre
(O) à l’aide d’un capuchon de connexion (JJ), et les fils noirs du
récepteur (M) au fil noir du filtre (O) à l’aide d’un capuchon de
connexion (JJ). Raccordez les fils blancs du filtre (O) au fil
blanc de la boîte de sortie de courant à l’aide d’un capuchon de
connexion (JJ), et les fils noirs du filtre (O) au fil noir de la boîte
de sortie de courant à l’aide d’un capuchon de connexion (JJ).
Raccordez le fil de mise à la terre du filtre (O) au fil de mise à la
terre de la boîte de sortie de courant à l’aide d’un capuchon de
connexion (JJ).
Brancher les deux fils de terre du moteur du ventilateur sur le
fil de terre de la boîte de sortie avec un serre-fils (JJ).
Fixer chaque capuchon de connexion avec du ruban isolant.
Tourner le serre-fils (JJ) vers le haut et rentrer le câblage dans
la boîte de sortie.
