TheEA79 operatesasfollows:
Owning theair venl (turning valve body counterciock-
wise)exposestheEA79 to the system.Water and air may
enterthevent chamber.Thefloat will Mallthroughanyair in
thechamber.ThisopensLhcvemseal.
Theredvcn~capallowsair~opassLhroughtheopcnvent.
As the air isreleasedthroughthe vent cap, waterreplaces
iheairinLheventchalnberandthefloatrises.Thisclosesihe
ventseat.Whenadditionalair entersthevent chanber, Lhc
operationrepeats.
If thevent scatremainsopen,waterwill risethroilghthe
vcnl aId causetheswellingdisksinsidetie redcaptoclose
“SCthevem.Closingiheair vent (turningvalve body clwk-
wise)isolaicstheEA79 from lbesyslem,allowingservice.
TheEA79 may behot dueLOsys~cm~em~mturc
extremes.USCcautionwhenadjustingvent toprc-
vent burninghands.
TheEA79 maybecomeaccumulatedwith dirt in theseat
arca of Ihe float assembly,which may causethe vent LO
malfunction.Periodiccleaningisrecommendedto prevent
thevent Crammalfunctioning.
NOTE: ThcEA79 maybeservicedwithoutdcpressurizing
or draining
the system.
To clean the seat arca,
proceedasfollows:
1. Turn thevent body clockwiseto theclosedposition,
isolatingthevent from thesystem.See
Fig. 4.
2. Removethe float assemblyby unscrewingtheouter
ring at the top of Ihe body and lifting up the black cover
assembly.SeeFig. 5.
3. Cmhllly cleantheseatareaof any dimor &&is.
Donotbendspringonfloat assemblyordamageLO
theYentmay result.
4. Carefully clean any dirt or debrisfrom inside the
vent chamber.
5. ReplaceLhefloat assembly,making surethat the0
ring isseatedproperly (seeFig. 5).
6. Replaceblack cover assemblyonair venl body.
7. Using handsonly, replaceouter ring, turning until
handtight.
8. OperateLheEA79bytumingtheairvcntbodycounler.

Make sure the red vent cap is tightened all the way
LOthe stop position for proper leakageguardoperation.
