Summary This kit contains parts to add a chart plate lockout feature to your
DR4500A Recorder.
When the parts are installed, you will be able to seal the chart plate by
way of a wire seal. A hole is provided in the mounting bracket and the
locking screw for the chart plate that permits sealing the plate.
Refer to Table 1 for installation instructions and Figure 1 for a Method of
assembly.
Procedure Open the recorder door, refer to Figure 1, and follow the procedure in
Table 1 to add the Chart Plate Lockout feature.

Step Result or Action
1 If present, remove the latch retainer from the chart plate and the
captive screw and O. Ring.
2 Drill a hole in the chart plate to accommodate the binding head screw
according to the dimensions shown in Figure 1.
If you assemble the locking plate to the chart plate using the locking
screw, you can use the locking plate as a template to drill the bottom
hole.
3 Assemble the parts provided in the kit to the chart plate as shown in
Figure 1. The bottom hole in the locking plate is threaded to
accommodate the binding head screw.
4 Place the O. Ring onto the back of the locking screw.
5 Thread a wire through the holes in the locking plate and the locking
screw as shown in figure 1.
