In case of warranty claim, it is necessary to provide a valid handover certificate.
This certificate needs to be taken into consideration in case of any warranty case or
service. The parameters in this certificate must not be changed. This certificate hast to be
kept till the end of the warranty period or till any change of settings. In case of any settings
change, new handover certificate must be issued. The handover certificate should be
provided to an authorised to the chimney sweeper upon request.

1. Important warnings
1.1 General
· Before using the combustion control, please read the user manual thoroughly and follow the instructions.
· Installation and set-up of HOS combustion system can only be carried out by a specialist or authorised chimney sweeper.
· The prerequisite for the proper functioning of HOS is the correct installation and proper functionality of all its subcomponents.
· Not following the installation and user instructions leads automatically to a loss of warranty.
· Any end-user changes of HOS combustion system are not allowed.
· The handover certificate must be filled in together with the installation company. This report shall be made up in two copies, one
copy for each interested subject. The handover certificate informs about the settings made to the particular device.
· The handover certificate is part of the user manual.
· The device requires a check of proper functionality once a month. This user-check is described in chapter 5.7 Functionality test.
· The handover certificate should be provided to an authorised to the chimney sweeper upon request.
· The HOS combustion control has been tested in TÜV SÜD laboratories and has been approved for the German market by the
technical authority DIBt – Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik.
1.2 Danger due to lack of combustion air or defective gas flue
Always provide a sufficient amount of combustion air for the safe operation of the fireplace.
During the operation, all applicable local laws and regulations must be followed. Furthermore, it must also be in accordance with the
local building regulations.
1.3 Electrical hazards
· The connection to the power grid may only be carried out by a specialist.
· The electrical line must not be under voltage during the installation of the HOS combustion control system, all subcomponents including.
In case of unprofessional installation, there is a risk of injury caused by electricity.
The HOS combustion control does not support combustion air supply.
Built-in ventilation devices can have a negative impact on the function of the HOS combustion control.
These are e.g., ventilation equipment, hood extractors, exhaust air dryers, central vacuum cleaner
systems, etc.
In case of warranty claim, it is necessary to provide a valid handover certificate.

3. Description of the device
Electronic combustion control HOS is a device containing some of the following modules or their combination:
· Module A – electronic combustion control – chapters related with this module are marked A
· Module W – primary water cycle control - chapters related with this module are marked W
· Module U – Underpressure watcher - chapters related with this module are marked U
· The chapters related with electronic combustion control without a display are marked
This manual is common to all available versions. Please, consider your own version during the
installation, set-up and operating.
3.1 Description of the function of electronic combustion control – MODULE A A
Module A (fig. 1) controls the burning process by dosing the optimal amount of air for combustion. The contactless door sensor (2)
transmits information about the status of the door to the control unit. When they are opened and then closed, the control unit initiates
the combustion control process. The high temperature sensor (3) measures the current temperature in the fire chamber or flue gas
path. Based on this value, the control unit sets the position of the flap (1) to ensure the supply of the optimal amount of air.
If you have a version with a wireless display (4), the display shows the temperature measured by the temperature sensor, the burning
phase and the burning time.
