1 Operang principles
Dear customers,
thank you for choosing a HS-Technik GmbH product.
This quality product „Made in Germany“ fulls the highest requirements with regard to
performance, quality and accuracy. When used correctly the product will undoubtedly
perform very well for many years.
This operang instrucons contains informaon on safety and for the operaon of the
NetBee. In addion it contains informaon on the dimensions and technical data. Our
team will be happy to assist you with any quesons or addional informaon needed.

1.2 General informaon
Read the device operang manual before inial operaon. Please pay parcular aenon
to Chapter 2 „General safety information for power tools“.
This manual should make it easier for the operator to get used to the device and of
its intended applicaon possibilies. The operang instrucons include important
informaon related to the safe and proper operaon of the device. Compliance with
these instrucons helps you to:
• Avoid hazards
• Avoid repair costs and downmes
• Increase the reliability and the lifespan of the product

This manual must be read and applied by every person who is assigned to conduct work
using this device.
In addion to this operang instrucons the applicable regulaons on accident prevenon
and environmental protecon should be observed.

1.4 Structure of the warnings
The warnings are structured as follows:
DANGER
Indicates an immediate dangerous situaon that can lead to serious or even
deadly injuries and/or that could seriously damage or even destroy the device.
WARNING
Indicates a potenally dangerous situaon that can lead to serious injuries
and/or damage to the device.

1.6 Intended use
This device was designed to interface with the producon line tools and to the producon
system.
WARNING
Intended use also includes
• following all indicaons of the operang instrucons and
• observance of inspecon and maintenance works.
Any other use or use beyond that is considered improper use. HS-Technik GmbH is not
liable for any damage resulng from this.

1.7 Improper use
DANGER
The use of this device for other purposes is not permied. Improper use or
incorrect accessories can lead to dangers with unforeseeable consequences.
We do not assume any liability for damage and malfuncons resulng from non-
observance of these operang instrucons and improper use.
1.8 Dues of the operator
The operator commits to only allow people to work with this device, with the basic
regulaons on work safety and accident prevenon and who have been trained on how to
use this device at the workplace.
The safety awareness of the personnel while working will be reviewed at regular intervals.
1.9 Dues of personnel
Prior to its use all people who work with this device are obligated to inform themselves of
the applicable workplace safety and accident prevenon regulaons for this device and to
observe them.
1.10 Training of personnel
Only trained and instructed personnel should work with this device. The responsibilies of
the personnel must be clearly dened. Trainees may only work with this device under the
supervision of an experienced person.

1.11 Guarantee and liability
Guarantee and liability claims for personal injury and property damage are excluded, if
caused by one or more of the following:
• improper use
• failure to observe these operang instrucons
• improper installaon, commissioning, operaon and maintenance of the device
• operang the device with defecve safety devices or improperly installed, or non-
funconing safety and protecve devices
• failure to observe the informaon in the operang instrucons regarding transport,
storage, assembly, commissioning, operaon and maintenance of the device
• unauthorized structural modicaons to the device
• improperly performed repairs
• catastrophes due to external inuences and acts of God

2 General safety informaon for power tools
DANGER
Read all the safety informaon, instrucons, illustraons and technical data
which is provided with this device. Failure to follow the instrucons below
may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
WARNING
This device was manufactured in according with current state-of-the-art
technology and recognized technological safety guidelines. However, its use
may jeopardise the health and life of the user or third pares, or risk damage
to other property.
WARNING
The workplace must only be used in accordance with its intended use and in
technically perfect condion.
NOTE
Keep all safety informaon and instrucons for the future.
NOTE
Only have your device repaired by qualied professional sta and only with
original replacement parts which are available at HS-Technik GmbH. This
ensures that the safety of the device is maintained.

3 Important informaon about this device
3.1 Structural modicaons
No changes, addions or conversions to the device may be made without the approval of
the manufacturer.
All conversion measures require wrien permission and conrmaon by HS-Technik
GmbH.
WARNING
In the event of the replacement of wear and tear parts only original
replacement parts may be used.
3.2 Cleaning the device and disposal
WARNING
Do not open the NetBee internal parts. Maintenance must be done by
HS-Technik authorized personnel only.
It is OK to use common disinfectants to clean HS-Technik products in order to follow
their decontaminaon protocols that they have put together for their facility. Therefore,
wiping the exterior surface with a cloth or wipe that contains a disinfectant is reasonable.
If a disinfectant must be sprayed onto the product, care should be taken not to spray the
disinfectant in points where it could enter the inside of the product.
Informaon on Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment:
This product and its informaon meet the requirements of the WEEE Direcve (2002/96/
EC) and successive modicaons. At end of life the products must be treated as WEEE.
The product is marked with a crossed trashcan. See picture below:
In the European Union, this symbol indicates that products must not be disposed of as

unsorted municipal waste but must be dealt with separately, in accordance with the WEEE
Direcve (2012/19/EU). At the end of its life, this product must be wasted according to local
regulaons. Collecng properly equipment to be wasted for consequent environmental
compable dismissing, recycling, and treatment processes contributes to prevent possible
negave eects on the environment, on health and helps re-using and/or recycling of the
equipment raw materials.
3.3 Informaon on Waste of Baeries
This product and its manuals meet the requirements of the Baery Direcve (2006/66/EC)
and successive modicaons. At end of life the internal wasted baery must be dismissed
according local regulaons. The abusive product dismissing by the user implicates
administrave sancons according to the above indicated Direcves.

4 Start-up and use
DANGER
Risk of injury from damaged devices
Damaged devices can lead to injuries or damages.
• All damaged parts must be repaired before use.
Risk of injury from falling devices
Falling devices can lead to injuries or damages.
• Avoid dropping the device.
Risk of injury due to improper use
Improper use can lead to injuries or damage.
• Use the device only for the intended purposes.
NOTE
Maintain your device with care. Follow the operang instrucons during
maintenance and cleaning.
NOTE
Do not drop the device, and do not let any other objects fall onto the device.
Protect it from impacts.
NOTE
Ensure that the device does not come into contact with splashing water or oil.

Input AC power Connect input AC power cable (ensure that the power line is properly
grounded). Use the clamp to lock the power cable to avoid unwanted
disconnection. To main switch turns on/off the NetBee. In the fuse box,
there is one spare fuse.
Locking mechanism The lo cking mec hanism must always be closed af ter the NetBee installation.
WARNING
Make sure to properly lock the device again after opening.
During installation or maintenance, unlock to open the NetBee and
access the connectors.
WARNING
When unlocking, hold onto the NetBee housing to
prevent it from falling over.
DANGER
Disconnect power cable before release of the locking
mechanism.

Each output provides, when acvated, +24 VDC, 0.7A maximum.
+24 VP / GND P is the NetBee internal voltage.
For each group of outputs (Out 1 to Out 4, Out 5 to Out 8, Out 9 to Out
12, Out 13 to Out 16), the power +24 V1 / GND 1, +24 V2 / GND 2, +24
V3 / GND 3, +24 V4 / GND 4 can be taken from + 24 VP and GND P (with
jumpers between the pins), or can be from an external system.
Inputs are opto-isolated:
- Low: 0 VDC
- High: 24 VDC
Inputs and outputs must be connected in a coherent way to the
external system (see the example below).

Ethernet ports
One port is used to connect to plant network , and the other is available
to connect to tools.
RS 232 ports
RS 232 Serial ports are for:
- Barcode reader (up to 2)
- Printer
- Serial Out (to send results via serial interface)
- COM 2 only: Fieldbus communication
NOTE
When the serial (COM) ports are used for a certain funcon, they are not
available for others. For example, if one serial port is used for barcode and one
for Fieldbus, it is not possible to use a port for serial out, and vice versa.
