About This Document
Purpose
This document describes an optional dry contact card designed for communication
of UPS2000-H-(6 kVA–10 kVA) series in terms of its features, appearance,
installation, and operations.
The card has an exquisite, advanced, and unique design, and features high
performance and reliability.
The dry contact card mentioned in this document refers to the EN83CTLC.

1 Safety Information
1. Only professional technical personnel from or authorized by the manufacturer
are allowed to install and operate the dry contact card.
2. Read this document carefully before operating the dry contact card. Keep this
document for future use.
3. Before installing the dry contact card, get tools insulated, and take o metal
articles such as watches and rings.
4. To avoid damage, handle the dry contact card gently.
5. Connect the ports of the dry contact card only to safety low-voltage circuits.
Otherwise, the card may be damaged and even safety accidents may occur.
6. Before connecting external devices to the card, conrm that they meet the
required electrical specications.

2 Overview
2.1 Introduction
The dry contact card applies to the UPS2000-H-(6 kVA–10 kVA) series. Operating
environment: –40°C to +65°C; 5%–95% RH.
The dry contact card is installed in an optional card slot on the UPS and supports
hot swap. The card provides six alarm dry contact outputs (normal mode, battery
mode, bypass mode, battery undervoltage, bypass backfeed, and UPS fault) and
two dry contact control inputs (one for the shutdown signal and the other
reserved) for the UPS2000-H system.

2.2 Functions
The card provides six alarm outputs, as described in the following table. Specic
alarms can be set for each dry contact through the monitoring board.

2.3 Typical Application Scenario
The dry contact card applies to multiple scenarios. This section describes only a
typical application scenario. In this scenario, the dry contact card can report ve
working states of the host, as shown in the following gure.

3.2 Device Connector
The dry contact card is connected to a communications cable using a device
connector. The connector provides 14 ports. A communications cable can be
crimped to the device connector.

3.3 Electrical Specications

The input dry contact voltage ranges from 12 V DC to 24 V DC.

4 Installation
4.1 Unpacking and Checking
After the dry contact card is delivered onsite, unpack and check it as follows:
● Visually inspect the package of the dry contact card for shipping damage. If
any damage is found, notify the carrier immediately.
● Check whether the accessories delivered with the product are consistent with
the order. If any discrepancy is found, record the information and contact the
local Huawei oce immediately.

4.3 Installation Procedure
The dry contact cards for Huawei UPS2000 series can be installed in the same way.
They need to be installed behind the optional card slot cover labeled INTELLISLOT
on the rear panel of the UPS. The actual installation position may vary.
Procedure
Step 1 Unpack and check the device. Ensure that one EN83CTLC and the corresponding
user manual are available.
Step 2 Remove the optional card slot cover from the UPS, as shown in the following
gure. Store the screws and cover properly for future use.

Step 3 Insert the dry contact card into the optional card slot along the guide rails on both
sides of the slot, and tighten the screws, as shown in the following gure.
NO TE
M3 screws are used to install the card. The recommended torque is 0.5 N·m.

Step 4 Crimp one end of a communications cable to the device connector. Connect the
other end to the customer's equipment.
NO TICE
● Connect the communications cable based on site requirements.
● To avoid short circuits and damage to the UPS and dry contact card, do not
perform operations with power on when connecting cables.

Step 5 Mount the device connector onto the external ports of the dry contact card.

4.4 Dry Contact Card Settings
4.4.1 Setting the Dry Contact Card for the UPS2000-H on the
App
Procedure
Step 1 Install the dry contact card in the UPS2000-H.
Step 2 Log in to the app.

Step 3 Tap Conguration.
Step 4 Select Optional Card Settings.
Step 5 On the Optional Card Settings screen, manually set the dry contact card.

● Normal mode
Species the output dry contact associated with normal mode. When the UPS
is in normal mode, this dry contact is enabled. The value ranges from Dry
contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry contact 1.
● Battery mode
Species the output dry contact associated with battery mode. When the UPS
is in battery mode, this dry contact is enabled. The value ranges from Dry
contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry contact 2.
● Bypass mode
Species the output dry contact associated with bypass mode. When the UPS
is in bypass mode, this dry contact is enabled. The value ranges from Dry
Contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry contact 3.
● Battery undervoltage
Species the output dry contact associated with battery undervoltage. When
the battery experiences undervoltage, this dry contact is enabled. The value

ranges from Dry Contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry
contact 4.
● Bypass backfeed
Species the output dry contact associated with bypass backfeed. When a
bypass backfeed alarm is generated, this dry contact is enabled. The value
ranges from Dry contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry contact
5.
● UPS fault
Species the output dry contact associated with UPS faults. When a critical
alarm is generated, this dry contact is enabled. The value ranges from Dry
contact 1 to Dry contact 6. The default value is Dry contact 6.
