Quidway®ME60-16/8 Broadband Service Line Card（BSU）
Overview
Broadband service units (BSUs) are the line cards of broadband service processing boards with
Ethernet interfaces on the ME60-16/8 series. Besides the functions that the MSUs have, the BSUs
provide the following functions:
zAccessing and managing the broadband access subscribers (including PPP and DHCP)
zDynamic service selection
zLAC
zVPN
BSUs are compatible with the ME60-16 chassis and the ME60-8 chassis. They can be used as network
interfaces and subscriber interfaces. The BSUs support various interfaces, such as GE/10 GE optical
interfaces, and ATM and FE optical/electrical interfaces. You can use various SFP/XFP optical modules
together with the BSU on the optical transmission distance.
The following figure takes a BSU 24-port GE Electrical Line Interface card (ME01-BSUA-24xGE-SFP) as
an example to illustrate the BSUs.

It is a 10-port GE Optical Interface Line Card.
You can choose different swappable SFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
ME01-BSUA-24xGE-SFP LC
It is a 24-port GE Optical Interface Line Card.
You can choose different swappable SFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
ME01-BSUA-1x10GE-XFP LC
It is a 1-port 10GE Optical Interface Line Card.
You can choose different swappable XFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
ME01-BSUA-2x10GE-XFP LC
It is a 2-port 10GE Optical Interface Line Card.
You can choose different swappable XFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
ME01-BSUB-16xATM/STM1-SFP LC
It is a 16-port STM-1 ATM Optical Interface Line
Card.
You can choose different swappable SFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
ME01-BSUB-4xATM/STM4-SFP LC
It is a 4-port STM-4 ATM Optical Interface Line Card.
You can choose different swappable SFP optical
modules based on the transmission distance.
